I would say roots for the community side of it because I was looking for a community to join in SL that had a mix of characters and not so much a distinct RP community. But I find that I meet and talk to more people on the forum maybe because of my time zone. That said, I often land places that are perfect for me but I don't see any signs of life in the region - empty streets empty homes and so on. I've landed parcels I am not keen on for myself but the neighbours are obviously invested and long term. As many people have said though having a home or two to choose between is damn difficult. I have a camper parcel I waited for for ages but then I don't see many others there. My main account got a boat in a brilliant place which looks up the channel between the islands and has traffic / people. That then does make you think about what you want and leads to indecision. Especially if you have spread the 175 li mainland parcel on the same account as the camper as I have - I get used to being able to pop out of Bellisseria and have somewhere else that is mine too.

I must have hit a rich vein this afternoon - logged in with a Victorian just sitting there so threw it in the air three times and caught it each time. It's back in but proof you can still do that on a quiet day. Once you see "it" you can't unsee! I find one then don't go back to it much just check it twice a day to see if still "linden home" using the mini map. Increase accounts or spread one account over several hours a day. If you manage to land the region you want you know it's "coming out" so to speak so if you have tries left you can see if you land the parcel you want. EDIT : REPEAT FOR WEEKS until it come out

Keep an eye on the clone down south - same green /sea parcels down there hope you can get one!
