  1. Yes I have risen from unknown creator to person approached to take part after many years. You apply and apply at first. Eventually you get your first acceptance and then you build trust that you can deliver the product or event. You get better at what you do as well the more you do it. So your reputation rises and your skill set rises and then people approach you to take part more often than you apply. Lots of events still require you to apply every year regardless.

I was a little disappointed to find that this is not a place to visit as such, but a sales area for the buildings.  If you can perhaps point to their use in someone's inhabited area I'd be glad to visit it.

It is a sales area it's where I currently have them all out. Plenty of people have them now so if I can track a client using them as such as they are intended I will post their link too

I'm fascinated by the origins of the region names. I google the ones that I'm not familiar with. Some of them are obvious puns, but the ones I don't know create a learning experience for me.

I RL live in one of the Lake District regions  :)

It might also be that Belli in general is losing some shine

Maybe it is less to do with new homes and themes and more to do with community engagement and roleplay?

I think there was a post recently by moles asking about what events we would take part in or wanted to see?

In Bellisseria we have multiple themes and multiple community areas of multiple interest for everyone to use for their own meetings and agendas and possible roleplay which is great - but how many do this? I am aware that there are Mer communities? Rail communities?

If a Linden or a Mole decided to run a regular, (monthly, quarterly?), official "town" meeting would that generate an overall sense of community? Would people want that? They could mix it up - one time its the round table in Fantisseria - the next its the hall in Chippewa etc. This could be made more fun by encouraging non mandatory themed dress code or something?

Perhaps Bellisseria needs a Community Engagement Officer? Someone who could full time manage the use of LH for non commercial roleplay? Maybe there could be an incentive to stay in your LH and continue that roleplay?

The reason they don't do any of this is probably because of time, energy and the possibility of a mob and grief and all the obvious reasons that I wouldn't do it either!

I would turn up for it though!

The people proposing ideas here need to go visit some of the better-run estates in SL. Visit the Chung operations, the Fruit Islands, Second Norway, the Grove Estates, New Babbage, and the Confederation of Democratic Simulators. See what's working. There are many people quietly living the good life in SL and not in Bellessaria.

    And New Toulouse / Bayou!

I've lived in all of these estates - Rosehaven, Babbage, the above, and Caledon etc. They are mostly seasonal and for the most part really strong communities with strict but fair building codes.

  7. I've put a similar question through for Patch in the upcoming Q&A about the Camper theme - basically, is it done?

I guess that it is and that the interest now mainly lies in making 2048s rather than developing 512s?

By developing I mean in the same way that Traditionals and Houseboats got layouts and decoration updates / new models added.

Given we have already have 8 models in the theme and its all pretty snazzy I do doubt anyone except me would be excited about it!

  8. For me in this case it was the overly rapid and not so neighbourly shoot down on what I was doing. I expect I think at least half an hour to organise things and if I had left offensive items out and disappeared - sure - maybe alert the Landlord about it and let them remind me.

The Landlord firstly said they would come and see what I had put out but my issue was with the neighbour. I didn't want this parcel next to a person who behaved like this - all I said to the Landlord was - this neighbour hasn't given me a chance to do NUTHIN. That's when they said "OK Dear. Have a Nice Day" so I guess it is just my principles. For me, rude communications = out.

I know that one man's trash is another's treasure and what is ugly is down to perception. But I am a person of champagne taste operating on lemonade wages - Studio Skye is beautiful and I will re use it everywhere!

  9. Recently on a parcel I rented from a large landlord I started to put some things out of my inventory to resize and consider. I knew the covenant didn't allow certain heights etc I am very used to this particular covenant so I quickly started resizing and placing. I didn't have anything particular in mind I thought let's work out what to do here - I was using very popular building items.

A couple of these had been rezzed for 5 seconds tops when a message from a neighbouring tenant came through. There was no hello just a copy and paste of the covenant rules. I asked if they were connected to the Landlord they said they were not, only they had been watching me rezzing out and wanted to remind me of the rules.

I replied saying thanks but its okay I know what the covenant is and what I am doing - it's not finished, its been out 5 seconds and it may not stay or it may get whooshed up into a skybox I don't know yet its been 5 seconds.

They copy and pasted the covenant again as a response so I told them it was quite rude to be so enforcing over others' stuff within such a short space of rez.

They replied my stuff was ugly, (sorry Studio Skye!).

I made a complaint to the Landlord who told me to have a nice day.

I abandoned the parcel immediately, didn't care to mess with a refund just wanted to be away from such prying.

I also won't rent with that particular branch of big Landlord ever again.

  11. I am back at the Expo this year in the decorating area -- we just got news of this - but pick a Linden Home Name? This is different from name a region or name a theme? Does this mean the winner picks a name for one of the upcoming home models?

Sadly they don't enforce that rule. That, or the AR backlog is months long and other issues that get AR'd more recently jump over that one in queue.

Yes I see vendors quite a bit as well as the ole dropboxes

If people ask to do this today, then there is not actually a transfer.  So..

Did they try to convince you there would be a "transfer"? Because there wouldn't actually.

I was the holder of the parcel and I was abandoning it in a public way, long ago when no one really did that so at that point a "transfer" hadn't been a thought  until this person. It was early Bellisseria and a very sought after place, demand was higher and stock was lower. I keep to the covenant. (apart from when I unwittingly kept my dropbox in my LH), so that wasn't a consideration. House went to someone I think still has it.
