Okay, let's drop in another line of speculation.
Yesterday evening I moved to a houseboat, excellent spot, nice view. A keeper.
This morning I spotted an ice field between the houseboat regions there.

    A hint about upcoming themes?

I need to buy a polar jacket if I stay in this place. 🥶

If you look under there you will find a teleport to Mole land ...

  2. I just picked up a glorious boat at Porthole with all of the home options available on the page. A few minutes later choices have diminished a little again and I am no longer seeing the Ranch homes option...

  3. The ranch landscaping really does remind me of the English Lake District. The stone walls, hills, tarns - almost! (Born, raised and currently live in the LD), The houses are too frequent though. I wasn't holding out for this 2048 theme, still waiting for that GEORGIAN TOWN!

  4. My favourite find at Plaza shopping event for the fantasy or steampunk inclined these will look great in Victorian or Fantasy themes, perhaps as centrepieces as the li is 13 and 10, although that never stops me...

(hope you will allow this posting as I am a merchant at the same event but I am also a consumer too & not a blogger for this seller, this is a genuine LOVE & I bought the item) http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/The Grove Event2/22/111/23

Then as long as the terms are being adhered to it should make no difference to consumers if the appearance/price of an item appeals to them. My confusion stems from @Nika Talaj’s use of the phrase “we should keep in mind…”

I buy anything I like the look of regardless of price original or not and I am very open about my use of full perm meshes so I would agree with you I guess the issue stems from either the grey area of "is it different enough from the original to adhere to the terms?" or not wanting to see the same meshes used over and over. There are some who will prefer original mesh for originality.  I know how long it takes for people to learn mesh and to continue to keep up with that. Some full perm mesh builds and re textures are so beautiful, (a lot of texturing work is time consuming), and people are willing to have those items regardless.

  6. ...any seasoned buyer of full perm meshes will recognise meshes used by other creators depending on how they have been utilised into a new product. As an example - the terms and conditions on one of the simple rug meshes that I use from another creator are very open and flexible I can even use it as a free item which is not as common a term with most creators. On my part I create textures by creating seamless fabrics in photoshop and then adding patterns using stamp brushes that I make myself using out of copyright images from The British Library or similar and mix together to create new patterns. Sometimes I will buy commercial textures and then use those in the same way.  I base the price on the work I've done to make a new product and the price of the original mesh.

From a consumer’s POV, I’m not sure I understand the need to make a distinction between original and full perm mesh. Is the latter some sort of legal or ethical infringement of a creator’s work?

If you stick to each full perm creator's terms of use, (usually very clear), then that is what the full perm creations are for - resale - but always within the creator terms. Usually the terms of use mean that you must make something new with the meshes such as take them apart to build new things, link them together with other things and texture them in an original way so that they are suitably different from the original.

@Chloe Bunny, are you really decorating three different homes, in three different themes, the same time? And you make them look so original, different from each other, and stylish.

    Respect!

Thank you - I am hopping around them and when I land on something I feel like decorating I will. I have to have the bug, the inspiration. I looked at boats and stilts after this but not feeling it yet

The only thing I don't like is the permissions. No copy, no mod, no transfer. But it is very affordable, so if it's lost, it is not such a big deal. But it can't be resized either? Well, it looks like it has the right size.

The permissions could have been a dealbreaker, but it is unique, so I might buy it.

It tends to work for me but yes it would be great to have been copy at least - I do have a couple of the sellers items and although they run higher on land impact they make a strong focal point which is what really does set a room or a photo apart :) not many people are doing rosemaling or hand painted in this particular style - some stores run close. I am a huge fan of rosemaled items, bargeware and canalware it is just quite rare on the MP

  10. @Nika Talaj Ah 2005 is too early for me I am 2007 baby! (edit or is that the name?!)

I understand I might be carried away with obscure but I would settle for difficult :) I would actually give up myself if there was too much math or physics involved.

This last one was easier than I expected and more obvious and I still didn't find it without help but I did see a lot of Bellisseria which is something I have not done in a while!

FINALLY...  With a little help, of course.

Thanks Patch. Just another one of those little thoughtful touches that make this world wonderful.

This is what I think too, I love the Bellisseria riddles but what would be amazing when they have finally built Belli and might get more time on their hands would be, (I've mentioned this before probably), a grand hunt for a one off never to be repeated treasure item with this kind of mind bending obscurity https://dreamsofgerontius.com/2016/10/05/masquerade-by-kit-williams-the-solution/ and longer to find it and if no one did maybe auction it off and start a new one?

I realise the latest gift is probably never to be repeated either - although mashing it up with other things has been fun
