  1. I agree with the fact the SL Is on the decline because of lots of stupid reasons not all Linden Lab fault either to be honest but players and sim owners too I wont waste time explaining all the details but will simply point out that the decline besides Linden Lab making changes that players do not like is the lack of updates, CopyBot, Griefers, and as I said people who support that said above, and to add to all this the fact that SL Lacks security to protect players beyond a password I really pray they fix. Oh I forgot to talk about Red Zone & Spyware allowed on the grid thats when it took a big drop right there too, and many merchants I know are now gone, some of them are not releasing new products as fast as they used to now. I go to public SandBox non premium ones I find lack of players often Not Many Griefers or maybe I am just lucky when logging in these sandbox used to be populated big times lots of players and or griefer spam everywhere not anymore which is not good means SL is on its decline. RP sims going back to 2009 are on a decline for the worst including sims that support griefers, copybot, and bad admins its on a decline no joke when I started in 09 RP used to be very popular now its just all on the decline in my opnion because of bad ignorant Sim owners, and admins, and SL on the decline of course with the changes like the most recent that people do not like, Even the most popular Military sim I knew of closed down finally after years of being open. This one RPG I knew of when it had good administration had like 30+ sims now they are down to like 10, but management is a complete joke this was in 2009 btw when they used to have them. I know there are good RP sims out there which are not featured much at all, I know that there are respectful admins, responsible people who strive to make their SL community the best, but these sims I have personally been to never bothered playing in because its not my thing really are run with professional admins and not featured which explains why they don't get as many griefers and bot problems however all the featured RP sims I hear talked about all the time have massive amounts of drama, grief, bots and just being there makes you part of it where you like it or not as in just being there in newly released gear gets you botted by a griefer and posted on the internet for download happend to me a few times made me very angry. RP, and Games are really a big part of the SL community where I used to come from I just know from experience and numbers its going down hill. AD's on Marketplace & SL Site, is also not a good thing, And also the reason I feel people are turning away from Second Life except for social experiences hangouts and RP if they are deep into it otherwise why not just go buy a RPG like Guild Wars, MicroSoft Flight Simulator, Mech Warrior Online, you can play all these RPG games like a lot of people I know like without having SL anymore they offer lot customization options in online RPG's compared to when SL comes out. Could someone in SL Create the ultimate RPG expeirence, Sure absolutely and I know a good RPG to create, the problem is it takes time, money, lots of hard development, and good programmers things I dont have but I have basic knowledge of what I would love to see and what would make a great RPG and bring people to SL, and also ways to prevent griefers on sim too. My Point being I believe this is why SL is all on its decline SL is on its last feet, I still like SL I login check on friends sometimes but don't do much here anymore because simply its not worthit in my opinion because there are many other games that have what I like. Only unique thing about SL is customization, social hangout, animations/dance thats about it if you dont care about that take that away no point in playing in SL. The only thing you cant do in other games that you can do in SL Yet. EVE Online for example you cant pull out a gun and shoot people or go into a space station hang out chat, fly a spaceship so on, however that is about to change in the years to come with games like Dust 514, and so on and that will really likely put SL at more of a loss because this is one of the things I enjoy doing in SL Space Combat for example, being able to land on land deploy do RP Combat with guns, leave to ship, get in fly to spacedock have fun those type of combat RP things for example, I can't do that in other games but as said thats going to change, and this is one of the things that makes SL Unique, and btw as far as dance animations, dating, and marriage I wouldn't be shocked if they didnt add this into a future MMORPG release.
  2. Well I doubt LL will change the cash out feature you know why? Pay $4.08 USD thats what it was when I started SL on the Teen Grid and first ever bought L$. Then Cash Out get 3.80 USD or something thats per 1k who makes profit? Linden Lab.
  3. Its great until a griefer shows up with a graphics card crasher and crashes the region or everyone in it then you rage RL and break you drums. At least that cant happen in RL or can it?
  4. Rommanno wrote: As you all know recently Second Life changed their TOS and sent letters out 3rd party exchangers demanding them to cease all Linden trading and remove ATM's immediatelly ignoring their own TOS rule of 30 day prior notice. I know there's a lot of theories (greed, banking laws), but I have one more theory why they might be doing this. Userbase is probably declining during past years and there's probably more people selling Lindens than buying them. And it seems that Linden Lab wants to completelly take control of all Linden trade. This might sound far fetched, but could it be that some months from now we'll see an announcement: "From now on all selling of Linden dollars on Lindex has been ceased. You will only be able to buy Linden dollars from now on." Maybe that would be a desperate way for Linden Lab to keep Second Life a bit longer - prevent people from cashing and force them to either forfeit their Lindens or spend them in SL. This would also mean that they wouldn't have to redeem any Lindens left when they will be closing Second Life down. Their TOS says that Lindens are not real money and are not redeemable from Linden Lab anyway. Hell, from their actions these past few days, it's clear that they no longer care about SL long-term or fear civil lawsuits, it's short terms gains now only from existing user base. This is why they added cheap ads on the Marketplace. Just food for thought. Wait you mean I can't sell my L$ anymore through LindenX now I will have to obtain Tiers in PayPal WTF?
  5. Drake1 Nightfire wrote: So, everyone wants to use SL but no one wants to support the company running it... If you read all of the other threads like this you would realize this was done in accordance to new US laws about money laundering.. This is soundong more and more like the rants that came out when Age play was banned.. Suck it up. U.S Laws dont mean anything you see as long as you have services like PayPal ,Click & Buy and so on people will continue to do Real Money Trading on the internet. I can also think of many ways to money launder through any virtual grid where it be Second Life or not. Gambling Also was never banned from Second Life, they just changed it added a few keyword restrictions officially banned it and said it was to support U.S Laws however it still goes on in what is called Games OF SKILL However some games can be rigged to be cheated, not that I dont support peoples free way how to spend their own L$ or anything but its simple fact that it still does exist just under Game of Skill. AngePlay is not banned either you can say its banned, you can suspend someones Second Life account, or ban it of course as a Linden Lab Employee, But I know damn well AgePlay still goes on in Second Life because I have videos from friends which have been record and prove the places where this happens and supposedly they are actually doing something about it I don't know. Maybe the place where it happens is locked up tight and Linden Lab perhaps doesn't know about it. I do think of AgePlay as RolePlay however maybe they are living out their fantasy and as long as everyone is over 18 and is like I am really over 18 years old just RPing as 15 or something I really dont care just keep it away from me but the moment they bring actual under aged kids into adult things into Second Life it is a whole new game to me and I have seen sick people do this before because I was there and actually made sure it got reported of course now to my knowledge last I hear 13 year olds are allowed in PG areas. On the other hand I think that if it is serious enough Law might need to keep track of such individuals to make sure nothing happens Real Life like there is a difference between a RolePlay adult content and Real Life for example. Just like when Sopa, Pipa, or Cispa actually pass we are doomed we all loose our rights.

What is more 5.3 states that "There are other exchanges that are operated by third parties on which Linden dollars are exchanged" but there are not authorised by Linden Lab. In fact they have never been so there is no big change in ToS. If you look at 1. CHANGES TO THIS AGREEMENT This Agreement may be changed by Linden Lab effective immediately by notifying you as provided in Section 13.4 below; provided that Material Changes will become effective thirty (30) days after such notification. you will notcie that even if LL interprets 'not authorised' as 'not allowed' ( what makes the whole paragraph absurd) you still have one month when you can use other exchanges. Some of them still operate like Anshex, Podex Exchange etc. I do not think that Anshe would work illegally. I do believe it is "not allowed". This is part of an email I received from a supprt ticket I sent in yesterday asking for clarification...this comes after she tells me they won't interpret the TOS for me. "The updated Terms of Service make it clear that trading of Linden dollars (L$) on exchanges other than the LindeX, Second Life’s official L$ exchange, is not authorized. We will enforce our Terms of Service as we always have. Failure to comply with the ToS may result in loss of your Second Life account(s)." Damn well this could cost LL some money right there I mean I understand why LL wants it done this way due to fraud, but still you are going to have Real Money Trading no matter what from outside sources. In General I bet that because of this. 1. There will be simulators closing down because of loss of profit. I mean I know that outside sources charge a bit more for their currency, and sell at either a couple of cents lower or higher simply because they can and because they make more profit than cashing out in Second Life you cash out you have to pay a fee for it. 2. Prices will go up a bit more in tier possibly. 3. More Money Laundry will occur because of it people will just make third party trades anyways because of the ability to send L$ in Second Life and they will just use alternate accounts not tied to their MAC/IP Addresses aka illegal trades not linked to their businesses, not saying any company in SL will do this but its likely someone will there are lots of Gold Sellers on the internet. Also yes Many Land companies in SL will not get into the TOS dispute I have had three land owner companies in Second Life tell me when they had CopyBots using stolen content on their simulator that they would not do anything just to contact Linden Lab for issues reguarding TOS they just rent the land, and I wish Linden Lab would make changes to that policy that if the person absoltuely is informed or aware of the issue they must file an abuse report at least or risk getting banned as well because they are too many who don't care.

  8. I Agree ! I support TPV's, however I agree. Third Party Viewers need to be banned, Security needs to be added to prevent third party viewers from ever connecting again and not provided to the public, Solution to fix griefers, CopyBotters, and so on who are destroying Second Life. However we need Linden Lab to develop viewers like FireStorm, and so on which are in favor of the community and give us a choice with the same functions firestorm has such as. Sound Spam Identifier, and so on it would be great to have all the Debug Tools TPV's offer and radar and Mouse Crosshairs for combat and so on. However I am not so sure I agree with the LindenX thing I say allow free currecny exchange between players, but add better security. Do you have any idea how much money I lost when my inventory was deleted. Thousands of Dollars worth of content which can never be recovered. People might think of me as why would you not want TPV's I love TPV's absolutely, CopyBot isn't bad okay, well it is because people abuse it and it cant be controlled, but if TPV's were banned it would solve many of our problems and save Second Life.
  9. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Featured-News/Updated-Second-Life-Terms-of-Service/ba-p/1996185 https://secondlife.com/corporate/tos.php?lang=en-US#tos5 I read this article posted by Linden Lab, does this mean that I can no longer use any third party sites like AnsheX, or any of the third party sellers on google also know is gold sellers? Also reading 5.3 of the Second Life Terms OF Service it doesnt matter because if someones account like when my entire inventory was deleted by a malicious hacker which could have been prevented had LL had IP Verification someone could have spent up to $3000 on my account commited frauid and laundered out the money fast enough through third party sells, or by spend it through merchants in world, or other means of cashing out which means such as cashing it out through alternate accounts not linked directly to anyone elses account aka different IP/MAC addresses and can't be traced by FDIC/Government couldn't this mean that a person could still cash out and or doesnt 5.3 mean that if this happend and someone was paid for a service with illegal money they would loose they money they were paid. Linden Lab, seriously there needs to be better security added to consumers accounts in this case and fraud protection, I understand we are dealing with virtual content, and virtual assets, but its still real money and this could possibly lead to serious legal issues. So yeah anyways can someone who knows possibly answer the question about if money is allowed to be purchased through third party sites still I am confused. And on a bit off topic. The TOS is Long, Read it but its not like Everyone is going to follow the TOS anyways especially when it comes to Merchants, CopyBot, License Rights, and generally following User Created Agreements which are not legally binding which people will debate me over it I would say they should be honored as being a supporter of such but legally in SL We need better content as merchants to protect our agreements such as textures, sounds, and such which can only be used and sold inside objects created by the merchant, new permissions systems and so on. And most of all we need something done about the Griefer website which is offering Goods of all the best merchants in SL illegally for free download, and also the person behind hacking a bunch of players SL accounts in various ways and phishing attempts on merchants.
  10. depends what type of combat I personally am a halfbreed elf I like jungles when it comes to bow fighting and arenas. Then you have CyberPunk style like NeoCron 2, and CyberPunk MMO which not released yet also great if done correctly. Desert is good of course depending on RP style and sims I know of only one in SL that has good admins and management. Snow, Yes I love snow themes especially done correctly with off sim combat would work best for military based comat in artic. Other, Overall it would depend on what you are really looking for any theme can work depends on the combat style temperate, rocky, woodland it can in general all work but it has to look professional and nice land scaping with themes, weather, waves and so on and not too laggy with asset UUID sound spam.
  11. Yep but TOS only applies in SL and there are many ways to disclose information without consent and nothing LL will do. Also take a look at Covenant on RP sims they are popular for getting involved in OOC disputes without consent of all parties disclosing logs LL does nothing and even if they do its a 2-3 day suspension unless its RL information disclosed and worse. In general just don't give out any information you dont want others to know about and always expect a knife in the back its how I live in online community's now and those who feel like Griefing, Botting peeps I know, or backstabbing take an arrow to the knee. As for actual SL harassment thats easy to get around. 1. Login from different IP address, Hide MAC Address, or change network card. 2. Make new account. Take a Note-Card with no Creator Name, or someone else name as creator copy/paste log. Send the NoteCard to everyone you want, Log out of account pretend it never happend with your main. 3. Note remember to clean cache/viewer settings before and after, disable Media, and Voice when logged into SL. Its a common problem thats happend for years especially in RP Community groups and Yes I wish LL would adapt more security measures to prevent griefing, phishing etc. But they dont.
  12. Orca Flotta wrote: But you gotta admit, at least GothGirl made a well-sorted, structured and thought-out argument, Drake. Unlike those trolls from earlier. But yes, I noticed the same; GothGirl seems to be mainly interested in gaming ... and in shady corners too. So it seems. In my 6 years in SL I've encountered maybe 2 griefers face to face (apart from the usual social griefers like SLtester and the other guy who claims since months that he has already left SL). So, what can one do? 1) shrug it all off 2) leave and declare yourself dead for SL 3) declare SL's death as imminent because if it's not for you it can't be for anyone else I'm really puzzled why so many ppl choose the least preferable option 3. I guess it would depend on the person, if you own your own simulator, or land, only login to be with friends meet people you know then chances of meeting a griefer go down a lot. But if you are like me you visit public sandbox's quite often then you often see griefing spammers. As far as gaming, it is why I joined Second Life to begin with when I played World OF Warcraft someone told me about Second Life, and I gave it a try and stay in the game for years it was fun until I joined GOR. GOR in general is based off a novel, and there is nothing wrong with good goreans, but when I was still learning and reading about it I found out that my own Group I was part of was a bunch of CopyBotting Scumbag griefers, and I personally had no idea, but then I dig into the issue and found out that their single gorup had connections with over 12+ other Second Life groups botters in the big alliances, and it just open my eyes to what goes on in SL. I then finally gave up on GOR all together because of these people and what I watched them do to people I know who are Mo-Cap Designers in SL giving me NoteCards full of animations full permissions, now this is where I could have just said hey I don't care and became one of them but I choose not to. Heck when I knew nothing about Copy-Bot, and permissions Exploit how the heck do you think I found out about it, I knew about the exploit even before Thieves MotherLoad which patched the exploit, and was still learning lots, heck I have the person admitting to me in IM about how they Bot a lot of stuff but they never got banned, and even if they did they had like over 12+ Alts. However when I talk about GOR as a RP I talk about in general there are like over 100+ sims not all of the people are bad but I choose to have anything to do with people who are even so much as affiliated with these type of people and given the fact and way GOR is played I just quit all together I didn't want to be around it. I still have Gorean friends, but I know exactly who they assoicate with to the best of my knowledge they are clean individuals and have been in SL for many years. Like I mention not all Goreans are bad there are clean sims, for example GOR-HUB and such who do not to my knowledge condone to illegal behavior. I just personally can't stand the way GOR is played forced RP kidnap going from one sim to another I would hate to encounter a group of bots the reason I quit completely. And to be honest if I had the money to create GOR, and some other RPG's in SL talking about over 15-30 sims dedicated to such I would do it, and I would make them as bot free as possible and restrict RP to those regions only only players who play play within those sims not outside. In the end I am not racist, I don't hate other countries but a lot of these bot gorups come from foreign countries at least bots and groups I met, not saying people from the U.S aren't griefers or bots because I know U.S stuck up ganksta tough girl act who are into such wanna be ganksta's too. Its just an observation, not saying every foreign country is guilty because I know actual designers from these countries too just that a big percent of piracy in SL comes from people who reside outside the U.S. Then is when I joined into a bloodlines group, and after like maybe 8-9 months or so went by a person who had GOR wrote in his profile takes leadership of the group, and here come the CopyBot before you know it I am given a Freebie Box full of full-perm hair from many designers in SL, and I take it to the leader about it I tell them what is going on at first I took the nice approach I explained it the best I could and was like maybe they didn't know it was illegal lets just ask them to 8delete it and send a notice instead I get Banned from the Land, and nothing gets done about it. Yeah I play SL in the past mainly for having something to do, friends, games, RPG, and such, but you see depending on what you do you may or may not encounter a griefer. To be honest there are hundreds if not thousands of blind people in Second Life who don't even keep an eye out, or don't even care unless a griefer spams their location with objects, so yeah often griefers, and bots go by without notice and such it doesn't make anyone who doesn't notice bad or anything. If I had to counter the number of times I have experienced Griefers, even from Reputable people unknowingly helping griefers it would be hundreds if not more, and the list of griefers I actually have is quite big. You know the drama behind the whole JLU braniac thing right? Well I have my own dictionary on griefers, thousands of snapshots, logs, videos, and audio logs on griefer encounters so yeah I would say I have quite a lot. Yes I have shady concerns but I feel they are all valid after the years of experience, griefer encounters, and finally having my account hijacked by a single griefer, its profile deleted/changed, and then inventory of over 50k items perma deleted and LL couldn't do anything I just find it hard to believe you see. SL isn't dead. Second Life isn't likely going to die or anything as long as Linden Lab can make profit they will keep it going as a Stand-A-Lone service even if only two people in the company are running it however the popularity and users are on a decline I would say since I first started back in 08. Most NewPlayers. Most new players often visit Freebie Areas in Second Life, and this is often where you can obtain illegally cloned items easily, but most importantly they visit Sand-Box sims, and this is where all the griefing goes on I remember being a newbie to Second Life having no land at all I used to hang out in the sand box constantly and be in the sandbox for 8 hours or so a day with no Life like me you will find a griefer spamming the sim or dropping graphics card crashers or something. Oh and whats worse about freebie items these can contain malicious IP Logging Scripts, Relay your location in world to griefers, or be made to spam other peoples IM with green text messages and you could be taking part in helping griefers without knowledge. 1. The Security Second Life has is a big Joke right now, You do realise that if you play EVE Online, in the account management you can see the person who illegally logged into your account and their IP address? 2. If you play Guild Wars 2 you have to verify login attempts from unknown IP addresses VIA Email? 3. Most RPG- Games have Secondary Passwords, or Authinticators like World OF Warcraft? These games which cost $9.99 a month and $16.95 a month have more security that Linden Lab & Second Life does when it costs $195 for a GF, or $295 a month for a non GF not including premium, or virtual assets. This is why I urge LL to upgrade seucirty, and give us more protection so that Second Life can become more popular again because of my bad experience in SL, and because no one knows when a TPV like Emerald might be compromised and thousands of accounts might be ruined no one knows for sure, now Emerald is just one old TPV that had malicious things but there are many TPV's right now, reguardless of if a viewer ever contained a keylogger like recent events and articles I read online our accounts should have secondary authintication to prevent the unauthroized access. Oh and as far as the griefers go I know the people who did these activities got exposed on many RPG sites, who do you think made all the rage articles online I did of course for their actions, and the result griefers likely got griefed by vigilante then sent me rage IM's about how they were going to abuse report me they know it was me and all this other stuff Personally I didn't care because I said Don't do with Evil Doers.
  13. Second Life is infact dying and I will explain my opinion and list why it is dying. 1. Griefers 2. CopyBot 3. Bots 4. Cost SomeWhat? 5. Lack of Innovation. 6. Rude Community. 7. Lack OF Security 8. Lack OF Actual OwnerShip of Digital Goods, or License Rights. 1. Okay I understand that people will disagree with these things, but it is true when I started SL back in 2008, Linden Lab seemed ot care more about the grid and community I was always able to find a helpful Linden, and even sometimes with Land issues it took like three phone calls to LL to get support on a privately owned simulator the person didn't want us next to the sim anymore and we were having disagreements after my renter wanted it moved, and then finally the bugs that came along with just having it there and LL said we can't help you it took a second ord third call on that one incident to find a helpful linden that actually helped resolve the problem which kept me from having to throw lots of money out the drain. 2. Linden Lab does have issues with Griefers, and Bots, I know its been said many times but its true, LL removed Age Verification from the grid put in a simple I am over 18 agreement, LL has no control over griefer accounts heck a griefer makes a 1 day old account with a VPN server or proxy, and uses an illegal viewer I wont give information on where to find but easy to get to go Destroy Merchants, Bot other peoples work, Spam SandBox's, LL also requires no Email verification, I have point all these issues out, and they still have not fix them. 3. The costs to own Land is Expensive, Okay I don't know how much server hosting costs but $300 a month for each region, and lack of customization on regions for example residents should be able to store more prims than 15k on their own sim if needed and have access to features like this for $300 a month even then gamers today can go to any MMORPG and find anything they want to be in Second Life there, SL in 2000, or so I think it came out in 2000 was the bomb, but now the only thing good about Second Life is. 1. Customization, 2. Chat, 3. Yiffing, 4. Art& Design. Other than this it is going to lack your average gamer no one is even going to waste time wanting to play, especially when a part of the community is combat based, there is just too much politics in SL militaries, and your better off just playing COD, or buying Defiance for that matter at laest in my opinion. Believe me if I had Hundreds of dollars to buy out multiple sims and actually start something Unique that hasn't been on the grid and people to help do it I would but don't have that type of money and start small doesn't work for what I want to do. 4. Account Hacking, For any reason at all if your account gets compromised LL Provides no support at restoring digital assets or losses, when my account was deleted by a rogue Griefer I know who did it and where they came from I contacted LL like the very next day, we can't restore your inventory they said, and I had so many items there over 50k+ purchased over years of playing since 08 items that can never be replaced again, do the assets still exist in SL yes but I can't legally get access back to them again. Which leads to the other point I have to say, I support the IP rights of merchants always have, but when we pay them RL cash we actually have no digital rights to them and we should be able to freely obtain these items on the same account, or another account of ours if we ever change or create a new account by destroying the ones on the other account and such. Since we have no rights to any digital goods if our account ever becomes compromised we loose them all. OverAll I manged to get items back from merchants I know trust, and support, RePurchased a bunch of items from merchants I couldn't exactly trust with information but remembered the items I had previously purchased but overall I am thankful to the merchants who were helpful, but while I can't name and shame I am very disapointed in some merchants on SL disrespectful slobs for supporting them for so many years and throwing off god knows how many bots abusing. Who wants to come spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars in SL knowing their assets are not protected from LOSS & that LL Doesn't even offer back-up. 5. Lack of Innovation everything revolves around the same old Crap, and Lag all the time. Most people gaming today want Role-Play and thats the only great thing about Second Life, but everything I see is poorly designed. Okay I respect what other people create, but I am looking for an actual combat in Second Life that deals with CyberPunk, or Sci-FI, with actual Combat, Meters, and I don't mean another repeat like Gorean Meter, DCS, or Insilico, I mean something very unique similar to a RPG like StarCraft, and GOR isntead of having just RP items and servers Actual Mines with actual RP slaves who have to go mine and such. 6. Rude Community, I understand that there are respectful community based sims in SL, and RP sims, I know some of them because I was invited to play in a few but never did because I didn't want to bring griefers from another RP sim to theirs. Anyways by Rude people I mean Sims that support illegal activities in SL, you politely tell them about it, they do nothing tell you to F yourself, ban you from the sim, then their members spam your IM's from their sim with spammer objects and Nothing happens at all even when abuse reported. There are places like this in SL, they actively try to recruit RPer's and becaues of the no name & shame policy on the forum I can't actually come out and say it while some might know who I talk about or whatever, there are rude community like this, I have known of a few, and because of ignorant admin's it drives people away from the game. Who wants to be part of this crap when you get disrespectful admin's heck I remember the first time I came from (TG) to (Adult Grid.) someone was talking to me about politics found out I was from U.S and then banned me from some parcel on mainland because they were like you don't understand. Why be part of something like this when you got actual (RPG) or (MMORPG) where the (TOS) (CS) is enforced, and (RL Threats) are actually dealt with over there compared to Second Life where it requires Law Enforcement, or Lawyer. You are right that SL is dying, I find it sad to see but with all the ignorant people in SL, All the Griefers, No company to help us. Then yeah Second Life is going to die because the Security,Bots, and Griefers problem is not Linden Lab Fault, G*D gave man free will to do what they want, so no its not their fault but its still something they can help resolve, help clean up the grid and maybe we will get people actually wanting to play Second Life, but as of for now There is absolutely no way I can recommend this game to friends on Steam, MMORPG, or any other forums because of the security issues, and no back-up, or anything. I would love to invite people to SL to a RPG with a good experience a place to enjoy time and game but its impossible with the way things are right now.
  14. While its true that you can just abuse report the owner let me mention a known exploit here for chat spammers which can't be blocked, and will often supposedly leave the owner to Nobody. 1. Create a Rez Script to Rez object in world. 2. Create another object, with a spammer script in it, set UUID of person you want it to spam. 3. Stick this script inside of the parent object and have it fixed to Delete itself very fast. Supposedly this type of spammer can't be muted, and is a knwon spamming script however it might also be done another way I am not sure if its possible with LSL but fixing it to change object name, what I do know is that the asset ID of the child object always changes names, or ID on REZ so its impossible ot mute even if the owner is blocked. This could also be done by using a Linden Prim based on rumors I have no idea it true or not. I do know that the spammer works based on chat, dialogue, and objects and cant be muted, blocked, or ignored without setting viewer to not accept any dialogue or anything, I have seen these in use in the sandbox at times, and was hit by one a couple of times. In addition keep aware that when you report someone you could be reporting someone totally innocent who doesn't know anything about it, Do you know that I have came across freebie items in Second Life which have a chat spamemr script in it and the newbie doesn't know this but is like ah a cool sword or something uses it for RP, and doesn't realise its got a chat spammer in it hands it to others and before you know it you have a massvie DDOS of chat spam going to X Person or persons because of it. So do keep in mind this when you report someone that sometimes they don't even know they are griefing, I always check profiles and such before reporting someone just incase they have no idea. I don't post this here for people to abuse it either but maybe some experienced scripters can test it and help make second life a griefer free place.
  15. Short Answer: No. Linden Lab needs to improve Account Security after players have been phished, or downloaded a one of the malicious viewers and been hacked in various ways it doesnt matter the fact is that LL keeps no back-up of inventory, and the fact that they claim they can't restore an account that has been illegally accessed by some god for saken hacker. Who knows when "Emerald" For example as a viewer or any other TPV on the list will end up getting a keylogger which I pray never happens and god knows how many SL accounts will wake up with their profiles deleted like mine and inventory wiped by a griefer, or get phished by fake marketplace scam this is more of a threat than the bot. But you know what the PN CopyBot, or Bots doing this are the same people who are hacking, and phishing accounts even sending emails out to Content Devs around the grid trying to give them fake sign:in links which I keep a very close eye on a lot of this information to know whom and what groups are doing it.
  16. If it says you are banned from the region then this could be a number of reasons however it does mean your avatar is banned from the region. 1. Is the region owned by A big estate company if so one of their estate managers, or owner could have banned you from their cluster of sims which the stores are on. I had that problem on Azure Estates, One time I found myself banned from like 20+ regions my friends land too and contacted their management reason they said was because the previous person who owned the company banned me they said they didn't know why I was banned never did any griefing on their sims, although it is possible that some griefers did some Lulz griefing around the grid in my name, and who knows what the griefer did with my account when they got into it I hope not much but its the reason I have locked down this account and quit SL for the most part. Personally I wouldn't see why a land company would ban X user from multiple sims unless they were griefing but then again I personally think that some of the big estate companies need to get better management having multiple Estate Owners, and people manage them just too confusing to me. 2. If the Owner is renting a full region from the Estate company they can remove you from the ban list if they have estate management rights. 3. The ban is likely due to Red Zone, Similar Systems & CDS. All these systems violate a users privacy, In addition to these meters there are also systems like Unity Core Meter, And other Rogue RP systems which have been rumored on search engines to be violating users privacy as well such as remote access to chatlogs via script etc, although its not a big system so I wouldn't worry about it only systems I trust is DCS, SpellFire, and well known RP systems. I also personally do not trust enable RLV due to privacy reasons. 4. Do not use any viewer other than what is on the TPV Directory list as there is a large number of viewers going around right now which are compromising lots of Second Life accounts by a PN Griefer I can't disclose the SL names here but I have a big list of connections in SL. ( In other words if someone elses access your account they could have done illegal activity with it I recommend changing your password often and using only TPV based viewers in the TPV directory.) Since 09 really I had no problem with people using CopyBot, but after I saw what people were doing with the Bot, and LL's new TOS came into effect it was a big issue too much abuse, too many griefers ruining merchants constantly, and too many blind and ignorant sim owners supporting illegal activities in SL some of them closed down thank god but there are sitll a bunch that need to be closed down. Anyways I did my research and I can say that. Red Zone, CDS & Similar systems are not accurate in bans, anyone using them is Spying on its customers, almost every merchant I know of in SL quit using the systems because I pointed out why I did not work, and that this was backstabbing their customers however some merchants are blind ignorant and stupid and they will never understand so they think ah Botter found instant ban but really there is never any proof there that the person did anything other than a person who got banned by a tool. Ban Networks need to be made a violation of the TOS due to Defaming avatars. There is no way these lists can be proven 100% accurate, and even when a user protests against CDS, you get some stupid user telling you we will not remove you, and the user themselves who is an admin Uses a copybot themselves, Heck I even was a member of a RP military group for a long time, and fact is that I was kicked because they said I had bad connections with CopyBot Griefers, and because I am against CDS but yet some of their members I know of, Knew users who used a copybot. Heck they even knew a person who Ripped off an entire store with permissions exploit years ago. So before they even complain about me They really shouldn't spreadFalse information helping griefers when they are just as guilty with their assoications you get what I am saying. They think I put them in bad light but really they are lucky I respect their leaders or else I would just post everything I have on the search engines & worse. Now Im not giving names but I just happen to know all the connections some of these people have who are by the way Building and Scripters themselves so people would never think Bot User, but I can say different heck I even have snapshots of these people next to eachother, friends of friends so yeah pisses me off how many potential bot users I know of too who can do bad things some with connections that have, and someone magically thinks they have an automated ban network that is 100% accurate yeah right. Wait it works through cookies to obtain basic viewer information, Bans based on an IP address which hundreds of people can be using if they are using the same proxy and its accurate? Little do these guys know there are new privacy laws about cookies, and privacy online which makes these systems illegal in a lot of places probabily even in the U.S if someone gets a lawyer and takes legal actions against people using and selling these spyware devices. You know I could sell one of these things too, but fact is I wont because I know they are not 100% accurate, and it does more harm than good. I will tell you what I made up my mind to do, Any store owner using privacy violating systems I see their ripped content around the grid I dont even report it because they are in violation of the TOS, even violating my privacy why should I help a griefer who is griefing people who did nothing to them. And all the people I know who stopped using it I still actively report what little I ever login to SL all the people griefing and leaving ripped content in the sandbox and such.
  17. The problem is Linden Lab isn't doing their job for the most part. Allow me to explain myself my opinion on Linden Lab & Griefers. My opinion is that Linden Lab isn't doing its job I have seen many griefers in SL walk free I have seen entire sims and RolePlayers who have support the stupid CopyBot since 09 still not banned by Linden Lab because they use alternate accounts spoof IP and MAC address because SL is open source, but their main accounts are part of the same groups. LL needs to increase the security on players accounts I mean Between 2009, and 2012 I had a very bad experience with Griefing botters constantly seeing them in our sandbox, welcome areas, RP sims, admins who don't care heck I say ban them all please even the people who support it, Personally I say the bot is fine when used legally and not abused, but giving out the code to everyone people are going to abuse it, and it needs to be stopped all together at least the abusers of it which likely wont happen. My account finally compromised by a griefer in december of 2012 the same griefer who got perma banned from SL for botting they were related to eachother I can tell because of what they wrote in my profile before I removed it all. Linden Lab claimed they couldn't restore my inventory which I know better I have done manual data restores and many recoverys on pc's never failed yet. Problem is LL can't protect players accounts either. Sim Griefers, yes I understand that some griefers do things just for the laughs, however it depends on how serious the matter effected another person for example a resident is going to always have a dispute in their SL time where it be their own fault, rumors, or a misunderstanding it happens so abuse reporting such is stupid unless they keep coming back with alts there is a mute button for a reason it often works. Now Griefers who keep coming back are the problem people who crash sims crash other players, I can say that I have been involved in such before years ago I wont say which sims or anyone, but I will say that the people which I know who were griefed until they pretty much quit SL deserved it they were all no good for nothing Botters, and griefers themselves where people agree with it or not LL wouldn't do anything so I personally talked ot people I knew outside SL and they got griefed hardcore for what they were doing to people I know who spend hours creating content everyday. Does two wrongs make a right obviously not, but at the same time it feels good to have two less griefers around ruining people, and this was years ago but still. ( I tried abuse reports first, it didn't work.) But agian why resident feel the need to take things into their own hands is because LL has no control over griefers so some residents do things like start assistance groups for abuse reporting as a group grid patrol which is totally fine and within the TOS, although others like me sometiems seek out revenge isn't always good and I hate doing it but when I see that my fellow friend is constantly being attacked by griefers, heck I will bring out some toys and have some kicking them off the sim repeaditly and such, there are actually quite a few people like me who I know who have been here longer than I have. I would rather LL deal with disputes help save this game from griefers, heck if I had Admin rights over sandbox sims my deleted accounts bag would be full by the end of the day kicking off no good for nothing copy bots and trolls constantly. I think its pathetic how the whole system works of merchants constnatly having to file DMCA's when a Linden Employee can inspect assets and if they have a notice that no one else was authroized to use them Black List the content and such but they don't. Hell I would like to have a job taking out the trash on this game it would also be fun. Oh and I would really like to see Linden Lab have less mainland which is totally useless, and go back to old tier price on private sims, honestly I think Linden Homes were a mistake and if they made SL more stand-a-lone it would be better save LL more money and they could improve customer service and support from there a lot better than dealing with all these mai-land issues.
  18. I disagree with the AD's too having these AD's is a waste of my bandwidth while it is true they can be disabled by AD Blocker Plus there really is no need for these AD's. Another thing as far as Steam Goes for Second Life as soon as SL goes to steam I am already warning the community over there about the problems Second Life has, I can't post a direct link but its in the off topic discussion. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=34 The problem with Second Life on its decline is the decisions Linden Lab has made over the years I admit in the past when I first start SL I was able to find very helpful Lindens, and I appricate, and am very thankful to those lindens however lately calling customer support on the phone its put in a ticket wait days before a response and even then they told me the issue couldn't be fixed and I filed bug report and finally I get one linden on the phone who thankfully was helpful to resolve some of the problems the rest LL still didn't seem to know how to fix but I figured some of them out. LL Needs to do the following. 1. Improve peoples account security and give people the option to restrict it to only their IP login verification by emai. 2. Keep back-up of peoples inventory incase of asset loss or account compromise. 3. Require RL info on sign-up. 4. Give First & Last Name Back. 5. Get rid of griefer groups in SL Full of nothing but such, ban people who support such. 6.Get better customer service, some of the people are very helpful with LL, and I am very thankful to those few because its hard to find such, and some are not. 7. Instead of all these main-land regions and tier of $195 give players private sims for $200 a month old GF price again make them stand alone. 8. Linden Homes was a mistake isntanced housing at different tier levels would have been better aka a small instanced world where players can invite friends privately and add to guest list and such. On the other hand these AD's just recommend other MMO's to other people, which likely players rather spend their time at. Don't get me wrong I still like SL because its Unique I just don't feel the company is doing its greatest and needs to be seriously improved I mean let me give examples. 1. The only reason I play SL is because of the Unique customization, and things you can do that you can't do in most other games excluding Red Light MMO, Building, Cars, Bikes & social hangout. However if I am really into the following I can find better outside SL. 1. Military Combat, I don't even spend much time in SL because of all the rules and politics I respect one group I was a member of and got kicked because of some stupid griefers and uninformed people because they wanted to keep a good name but I still respect them great group, however if I wanted combat I could just buy Call OF Duty, or any of these other MMO's with Combat. 2. Mech Warrior in SL, It is just laggy as hell, confusing compared to playing the version online, I still like the SL Version but it seems to be dying last time I heard about it lack of players and all. 3. Role-Play in General, is full of abusive admins, Drama, Griefers I can go to any MMORPG and play without having to go through a very bad experience or worry about CopyBotters ruining my group cloning my avatar and all this other BS that has to go with SL. While it does have a unique experience it lacks Realism and actual play for example I have always liked the "GM" system & "DCS" But I feel that SL needs a way better RP system possibly designed by Linden Lab made open sourced in the library that people can easily edit and setup their own meters/servers, I mean I want things like HeadShots, arrows to the knee etc compared to other games SL lacks this and is just too laggy in general 10-20 FPS vs any other game 60+ FPS all times. If Linden Lab would only make the right changes to make SL better more people would join without the need for their massive advertisement and recruitment AD's I can only hope that in the future LL will improve this grid as a lot of my top merchant developers have quit this game already and it sucks, everything I purchased from them thousands of lindens of stuff when my account got hacked, I can never get it back again because they quit.
  19. The MarketPlace isn't as bad as people make it, I am not sure how much they charge but it is probabily less than paying for in world tier. 1. The Lag, stores like BareRose, I love their store they are one of my favorite merchants (Besides the no copy) thing of course which I hate. However their store is SO laggy I cant keep my drawdistance at 512 without all the asset lag there just too many images to load instead the marketplace could be nice as well. 2. Some merchants refuse to use the market due to CopyBot the Copybot isn't going to stop you see to stop the copybot you have to design the product, never sell it, never use it outside a simulator that only you have access to. (CDS) & (RED Zone) isnt going to stop it eitehr. In fact I have a list of every merchant known in SL using these systems and I pass around the info anonymously to sources and people to avoid any store or simulator using spyware systems because we deserve the right to OPT-Out and have our privacy unless given an accept button to consent to scan we do not have a right ot be searched without a warrent aka Linden Lab so to speak. I also keep my naughty and nice list of merchants too, those who have been helpful and those who have not be helpful and disrespectful/rude there are a very few of those but still I will remember these people when I report their work for being CopyBotted, and stolen they didn't do anything that bad but just bad customer service like at your local store where I wouldn't want to shop there again kinda thing. 3. OverAll I like the marketplace better because of #2 I can use it knowing I am not going to be ninja strip searched by airport security so to speak I use the market more than going to a merchants store except the merchants I know of whom are Great. Market Place is great, no need to own land either from what I know now and if so only 16SQM for a box. Disavantage of market place is scams, & alternate account abuse however.
  20. As much as I hate to say it the FBI in my opinion doesn't care about copyright unless its a big corporate like Sony, MPAA, or RIAA. I will tell you why I say this, I filed a complaint over the website hosting on United States Servers, illegally copyrighted content from a lot of merchants who filed DMCA. I also filed because the person who Hijacked my SL account came from this site and I know whom it was, and I happen to know these people are also Carders, and identity thieves. Nothing was done about the site, it has yet to be removed form the internet and copyright all around is one big joke. I am sorry but as much as I support Original Work & Content in Second Life I can't support a six strike bill here is why. 1. For starters its the companies like Sony, MPAA, and RIAA complaints OHHH COPYRIGHT, but the problem you see is these companies and artists are not even trying to protect their work, take Aliens Colonial Marines, for example I legally purchased the game on steam for $50, but it was avalable for download and cracked on torrent like the same day it was released, so was Devil May Cry, & how about Dead Space 3, yep thats right cracked like the day it was released. The reason I do not support the Six Strikes act is because music artists could use a new type of player that prevents Ripping of music to any device, sure people could still record it by a tape then record audio through a program and then convert it to music, but you see the reason they don't switch to SD Card Music players is because the ability to rip music and encrypt it even so it cant be illegally copied they would loose money, but they have the nerve to complain about copyright. Online Games such as Aliens, could require a server connection to verify the game is legit, and encrypted data until it gets an internet connection to decrypt and then require internet access to play the game even in single player, but instead these game companies even with Dead Space 3 for example don't even bother to protect they assets they just scream COPYRIGHT. So for these reasons I do not support 6 strikes act. I also do not support it because all it does is hurt legit people take downloading an old game for example such as Z.A.R I bet no one here has even hear of that game before lol its so old, but even downloading a game you legally own off a torrent because you lost your serial key could get you flagged and warned without reason and just harms people who try to use the internet and enjoy it. Another reason I do not support it is becuase of how the software industry makes people ACCEPT stupid EULA's and yet if I take the game back to gamestop because I do not agree to their EULA I was not required to agree to on purchase they will not take the game back I will have to call a 1800 number and wait days for a refund and even possibly pay to send it back. In my eyes. SoftWare Developers, Music Artists, Movie Producers are just Greedy they fail to take any measures to protect their work and scream piracy, even if piracy does exist they still get paid more than what any merchant in SL does so I don't feel bad for them at least not that much am I saying piracy is right no, but I am saying that I feel a lot worse for the devs in SL some who are not professional designers as in didn't take class spend hundreds of hours to have a object CopyBot and ripped more than I do for a stupid .AVI file which is claimed to be copyrighted even after 5 years the movie has been out. If you want to get rid of Copyright... Why not take down Synctube, because SyncTube is used to illegally stream movies from netflix with a bunch of others wanting to watch a movie whom do not pay for the service for example lets make everything illegal on the internet, lets kill the internet. Remember the Hactivisists against sony I still laugh about it because of what they did to Hotz and can't wait to see the next PS4 Jail Break. After All we don't agree to any agreement when buying the Ps3, or Ps4. oh and btw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrjU-HBkmLE
  21. Report it to Linden Lab, although when a scammer gets paid they usually log in and quickly launder out the money fast so LL and you can't recover the money, and given the fact anonmity is allowed in Second Life and IP/Mac/Proxy spoofing there isn't much that can be done legally. ( Yes it sucks, no LL doesn't seem to fix the issue no matter how many times I have brought it up.) Do not download any viewers other than what is listen on the TPV website, as any viewers downloaded can contain keyloggers, currently the PN are passing around illegal viewers including CopyBot viewers, and legit viewers for download which look just like FireStorm and exact same name but false download links which contain keyloggers and you will go to login to SL to find your account has been banned by LL, inventory erased, or that you got banned form many places for griefing for acts that were not you. If it requires a special viewer or Mesh Viewer than FireStorm should work if it doesn't its an obvious scam and I would not risk the account on downloading a viewer which you can't see the source code for. While there is so many open sourced viewers and I am sure there are custom legit viewers people do for themselves as coders or friends its just impossible to tell which ones have keyloggers or illegal and which ones are not so its always good to stick to the TPV directory.
  22. I would not accept a bloodlines spam invite. The reason I would not accept such invites is becuase if I remember correctly when you accept one and buy the BloodLines hud you become someones liege, or get dragged into a clan, joining any clan randomly is not a good thing. I remember after I accept my first BloodLines spam request I ended up with some perverted dude whom had my soul and had to have a friend trade a deal soul to get mine aka someone who quit SL. The Second Clan I actually joined was decent until the leaders left, and a gorean dude took over the clan from there all he did was invite CopyBotters, thats right to the group, and this happend through BloodLine Spam Requests a lot of griefers joined the group I showed the guy snapshots of all the items they were wearing, even the griefers griefing and he did nothing about it. All I can say is the Drama behind bloodliens spam invites and illegal users is high, if you get one you should not accept the invite and you should always do research before joining the clan the moment drama starts or you see it just report abuse without telling anyone and say you are leaving to avoid the drama. BloodLines Spam invites is one of the things I hate the most in this game, Bloodlines is supposed to be about. 1. Friends 2. Family 3. Clan 4.HangOut 5. Adult Vampire RP Not spamming.
  23. You will never get rid of gambling and honestly my opinion games of Skill Like Zyngo, and All these other slots are Gambling reguardless of game of skill. Now you can apply the word game of Skill to about any game you create in a game, however the way I see it is Zyngo is a game of chance not actual Skills while this is an opinion of course the only skill involved in some of these games is choosing numbers, not getting a devil, clicking double up or things like this I have tried out a few of them, and to me I find them gambling. Also a lot of these private gambling simulators are running illegal IP Logging software, so the moment you step on their simulator if your media is enabled, or anything they snatch your IP, I found some of these sims running SpyWare devices like Red Zone to track alts Without notice or consent. Then you have the other way to gambling such as you pay X Money to exchange for outside currency through a server, or you buy virtual credits as a payment and use those to then gamble with those credits, to me its all still gambling but there is plenty of ways to launder the money around cash out when something is done illegally or fraud other players via scams, marketplace, gambling, Games OF Skill. Do I mind the gambling personally no, Do I trust gambling on the internet or SL no because they can be rigged unless I can see the code I am not going to trust it, Personally I say let users do what they want, however with that said if someone does tick me off and I find out they are gambling I will report it to LL and if that doesn't work I contact someone who will make sure LL removes it. In my opinion Linden Lab, should either allow gambling and protest it in a court saying that virtual currency is not real money or they should remove all games of skill from Second Life as well.
  24. So basically what is Linden Lab going to do to stop marketplace scams, and I really dont want to hear things like buyer beware what you buy. 1. Lets assume someone was selling full perm Textures/Sculpts or something for like 8k L$ and I purchase that item but instead all I get is a cube with a NoteCard and some random pictures in it, what is Linden Lab going to do to keep this from happening, or players from abusing the system? 2. I am not sure about how the new MarketPlace works I really havent used it since it changed at all other than buying items but from what I know anyone can use the marketplace even a 30 day old account with a false registered email, fake IP address, and spoofing mac address therefore anyone can scam a resident like this put incorrect information on a product discription get 6k L$ or more, quickly launder or cash it out, and what will Linden Lab do. Linden Lab has a policy they do not get involved in residentual disputes. If the person already cashed it out fast then either LL Looses money, or the buyer looses their money. To me it seems like Linden Lab should impose a limit on L$ and hold it for at least 72 hours before the merchant actually gets the L$ to give the buyer time to file a complaint if the product isn't as described and investigate for a refund then banning the seller after X number of times unless its an obvious scammer. The only exception I can understand is if its already a merchant who has provided. 1. Real World ID. 2. Been in World for a long time. In which case they would instantly get the L$ without any hold, however accounts who do not have payment information or verified RL identity would have a 72 hour hold to allow a person to file a complaint and LL to recover scammed funds. While I understand LL has the no dispute policy it The Anonimity second life has gives a user the ability to abuse the system and constantly get away with it with no Legal Action that can really be taken and even if it were possible it costs so much its not even worthit.
  25. Same problem here it has to be the new Second Life Release or related to AMD Drivers the bug really needs to be fixed );. It seems to be the in world sun for example and lighting that causes this it renders incorrectly I was searching Jira and its not even on their fix list?
