  1. As a non-creator shopper, I certainly hope someone can make better sense of how the current mesh clothing works.  My partner likes my shape just the way it is, thank you very much, and the thought of changing my shape just to be able to wear something that doesn't fit me like an oversized sack just doesn't cut it.

I simply don't spend money on mesh dresses or tops any more because they I'm not satisfied with wearing what looks like my older sister's hand me downs.

  6. Thanks, Qie  -   this seems to make sense.  Not being a scripter, I don't have much of a clue how to go about it, but it makes sense.  Putting them into a "box" may also help me out with another thing I do with my collection of landmarks.  I use them to populate a mulit-sim teleporter.  I can't drag them out of a NC and drop them in the teleporter, but I may be able to do that from a box object.

I use the SURL's for populating a website of locations, so a copy/paste from chat would work.  The web based end result is the SL SurfWatch blog's Wave Report of public surfing sims:  http://swwavereport.blogspot.com/

And Darkie - I'm not sure how to be more specific about what a landmark is in the context of my question.  I'm referring to those objects that end up in your Landmark folder after you issue the command to landmark your location.

  7. Hi, everyone.  Do any of you know of a script that can take a notecard of LandMarks and convert them to a NC of SURLs?  I routinely generate an inworld list of LM's.  I manually go through each LM to create a corresponding list of SURLs for posting on a web site.  It'd sure be handy to be able to automatically generate the list for the web post.

Thanks in advance for your help,

  11. Changing Draw Distance in the chat line is also handy. I change it frequently to help with lag issues.

An AV radar with features Iike in Phoenix and FireStorm that includes camming to the AV, TPing to the AV, and security commands Ike freeze, eject, and ban are handy when you need them.

  12. Really liking V3. I'm also a Phoenix/Firestorm user and sure miss a few things I use regularly in FS, such as chat command to set Draw Distance, Area Search, and Nearby AV Radar that includes camming to AV, and security actions like freezing, ejecting, and banning.

The option to par down V3 to a minimal interface is great when there are keyboard shortcuts for bringing up the most commonly used features ( at least what I use ).

  13. Happy Birthday to November! The Second Life® Surfing Association is having a Birthday party and Archipelago fundraiser for people with a November birthday or rezday. The party will be held on James Isle November 13 2011 noon (12 P.M.) SLT to 3 P.M. SLT.  Music will be provided SLSA Director Maldrul Morris.

There will be a raffle for prices and a just-for-fun mini-competition on Archipelago.

Everyone is welcome.  Come out and celebrate your friends' and family members' birthday/rezday and meet people in the SL Surfing Community.

  15. Thanks, Deej... I was afraid of that.  I've also seen proposals from the SL Flying-Aviation Community referenced in the SL Sailing Association's web site <http://slsailing.com/blog/2010/10/13/sl-flying-–-aviation-community-partnership-program/> and a proposal from the Chilbo Community Building Project <http://chilbo.wikispaces.com/PartnershipFinal>, but haven't found whether or not they they had any success.

I wonder, has anyone heard of anything similar?  I represent an association of over 700 members whose primary goal is to promote surfing in SL.  We're a loosely knit group who presently offers around 40 public surfing sims, are open to anyone interested, hold regular inworld events and competitions, have an off-world forum, and a web site.

I would like very much to pursue some discussions with LL to see if there is any interest from them in promoting the exposure to and use of surfing in SL.  :matte-motes-smile:

  16. Interesting stuff, Qwalyphi, and I'd want to be part of the gateway if it were still around, but the CPP is different.  It's the program under which the SL Sailing Association (not to be confused with the SLSA (SL Surfing Association), which I represent) set up at least part of the Blake Sea area.

  17. Does the LL Community Partnership Program still exist?  My old URLs to information about it are now redirected to a more generic community information page.  If it's still an active program, could someone please point me toward where to find out current information about it or a LL contact who works on it?

    TIA - Kantbe  :womanhappy:
