  1. Looking at the policy and not seeing anything about the items have to be No Transfer except for 7 seas.
  2. So now the discussion is the competency of Linden Labs lawyers?
  3. They have. https://nouse.co.uk/2021/06/27/ea-introduce-preview-packs-in-response-to-claims-that-fifa-includes-a-gambling-mechanic#:~:text=On Friday 18 June 2021,considered gambling%2C and subsequently banned.
  4. Please stop suggesting Patch Linden did not do his research. It's kind of rude. He clearly says he personally approved the submitted operation and design of the vendor and he will not be reading any more discussion about it in this thread. If you don't like it, don't play it. Simple as that. I'm not surprised the people that didn't like gacha, don't like this new vendor system either. It will never be your cup of tea and that's fine. But for those who enjoy this vendor, let them have their nice things.
  5. Happy to see some creators already working on the new conveyor vendors! Now I don't have to buy a fatpack for 3000L of 20 dogs just to get 1 dog for 50L. If the one you want isn't coming up, just get it from a reseller.
  6. Very interesting...in the policy it never mentioned anything about item permissions. Just you can't take a payment and receive a random item. So its interesting to me that suddenly items for 7 seas must be no transfer is also part of the policy now. Because 7seas even with no transfer catches would still be taking a payment for a random item at least in some capacity if you use bait to increase your chances of getting better random items. The plot thickens.
  7. Or you could just buy the one you don't want and hope the next one is the one you do want. It's the same way people stand around and dump money into a gacha now, but you just see the next item to be received before you pay. The only wait would be having to wait for the machine. Which is understandable, you can leave and come back when its available.
  8. No, it's locked to the person using it. So no one else can get the item until that person is done with the machine.
  9. You are not getting a random color. You are getting the color shown. The next one might be purple or green or blue But the one shows is the one you are paying for and will receive.
  10. The policy is banning gachas in their current format where you receive a random item for your payment. Several creators are already working on a solution to offer a new gacha alternative that shows you what you are getting for your payment. Then the machine offers a new item for sale. This should be allowed under the new policy. https://gyazo.com/01e167001234bf29857c7522ebdb6e89 However, if the policy is interpreted or expanded as you are not allowed to take payment for an item that triggers a random outcome then this type of vendor would not be allowed. But then breedables would fall under this policy because the traits generated are a random outcome after purchase. We anxiously await the FAQ for answers.
  11. It all depends what the FAQ will say in depth about the new policy. We need more clarification what "chance based outcome as a result of payment" covers. If it's just you can't have someone pay for a random item then that's one interpretation. This would make vendors that show you what you get for your payment, but generate a new item to purchase acceptable. If it's you can't have someone pay for an item that results in a random outcome occurring at some point after purchase then that's another interpretation and would then include other things like breedables because the traits are a random outcome after purchase. Pick your poison.
  12. Positive Wavelength has already created a new system for their avatar gacha that complies with the new policy. https://gyazo.com/01e167001234bf29857c7522ebdb6e89
  13. The problem with those limited item events was the popular brands items sold out of their copies within the first few hours of the event before most people could even get on the sim to get to it. Meanwhile the unpopular brands are embarrassed that their item has sold only a few copies for the whole duration of the event and everyone takes note and judges that brand as being unsuccessful.
