As much as I would like to believe LL "cares", considering their typical laissez-faire approach I feel it's more likely that their sudden interest is due to creator complaints. I think they desperately want to pacify the elite creator class who no doubt saw their profits plummeting (i.e., because nobody can buy the stuff in their stores when everything looks like a gray blob). Ever since the introduction of mesh, it has no longer been "Your World, Your Imagination". LL relies on a small contingent of pro-level designers to create most everything. The rest of us have been relegated to mere consumers of that curated content.

I really loved my first SL husband. I miss him. He was an amazing human being. Looking back I wish we had never tried to connect outside SL. It was his idea and I reluctantly went along with it. We lived on opposite coasts of the U.S. very far away from one another. Things fell apart dramatically (due to stress, logistics, and Lies) before we even had a chance to meet. But I remember how much I adored him when I only knew his essence and the sound of his voice in my headphones. Ironically, we met at an SL Halloween party when I was a newbie. I fell in love with him when we were both wearing masked costumes. When we were both cats LOL. 😿. From that experience, I learned SL is a very special bubble that only exists inside the online world. And, like all beautiful things, it is not meant to breathe air. 💗

K-Mae parents were notified a few weeks ago that unfortunately the owner will be closing the business due to financial issues. I believe this means that all K-Mae animesh babies will stop working once their server goes down. There was no exact date given for the closing, but it seems like it will be soon. Although they lacked in the accessories department, I really liked the obvious love and detail that went into the design of K-Mae's kids and they weren't exorbitantly priced. What are the best replacement options currently out there?

Though I did not have the privilege to know her personally, I certainly remember my days as a newbie at the Free Dove. It was a beautiful concept from a woman with an obviously equally beautiful spirit. Her generosity touched so many of us. Gratitude and blessings and may she rest in eternal peace 🙏🏾

I thought Philip made some good points, especially about the challenges of trying to remain hands-off and maintain avatar anonymity while also curtailing nefarious in-world activity. Glad to see them giving SL its creatorship dues. However, it's also kinda hard to see where we will fit into the future when stuff is happening like land selling in Decentraland for millions.

I was wondering why SL doesn't seem to be among the platforms companies are jockeying for since FB announced Meta. I noticed DecentraLand mentioned as a top contender. When I looked up info on DecentraLand the first thing I saw is they have gambling. I was like oh yeah...I remember back when SL outlawed banking and gambling and helped regulate real estate profiteering by introducing Linden Homes. These companies don't want that. Instead, they are looking for unregulated platforms that can be the Wild Wild West. Here's a link to an article about Barbados becoming the first sovereign nation with an embassy in the Metaverse that will be giving out e-visas. They chose to build it in DecentraLand. Some are suggesting it's because they want to get in on the ground floor of being the place where people hide their offshore crypto. So, basically, Meta will be just like the real world—corrupt with closed borders. Who tf wants to experience that? Don't we get enough of that in crappy RL? Seriously, though I actually respect the way SL instituted regulations to keep our universe from descending into chaos whilst still maintaining freedom. I'd love to see SL to get the attention it deserves in this not-so-new metaverse wave, but I also hope they don't sell out.

Thanks, for your help Qie! Support discovered the solution today. My parcel name was too long. The parcel name must be 50 characters or less in order to create a resident auction. Now my resident auction is properly scheduled and hopefully will sell *fingers crossed*

Update: So the Lindens say sorry, but they can't figure out why I can't create a resident auction. *sigh* If anyone has had the same issue and found a fix please let me know.

I'm having the same issue. My land is not group owned. When I try to create an auction I get the screen that says "error page: "Ooops! An unexpected error seems to have occurred. Rest assured that developers are working hard to repair the issue. Please check back soon." I submitted a ticket on Friday 3/29 but still no response.

AviNews, you were right! In my chat preferences somehow I'd managed to uncheck the option to view display names. I checked the box again. Then later when I went to my chat logs today everything was back to normal. Yaaaaay! Thanks for your totally helpful and totally non-snarky response. You're the best! <3

My chat log used to show my display name with my username in parenthesis on each line like this: Shari (shaharazad.humphreys) But now it just shows my user name only: Shaharazad Humphreys No display name, no parenthesis I did not remove my display name...it still shows as Shari in my profile settings. Did I accidentally change some other setting? How can I change it back? Thanks, S

Try the Ebody Curvy mesh body. They have a free version in-world in the store that has limited features, but should be fine for an alt. It has a very natural-looking, curvy, heavyset shape that you shouldn't have to edit much to get the look you desire in that photo.
