  1. Hello, I am Marcthur, a dutch guy living in France and I am looking for a partner (as in relationship and love). It is my wish to live an Off Grid lifestyle together, with Second Life as source to pay the bills. I am doing business in SL for 11 years now and can gain a basic simple lifestyle with it, alone. It is the lifestyle I live already, isolated in a forest in a traditional house in the middle of nowhere. An honest hard working life with real connection to nature. Also a very satisfying life with a lot of freedom and time. If you can tell me that you are making a "living" out of SL too, that you are not afraid to be alone with "Adam" in the forest and that you have a healthy physical condition and the ambition to go "Off Grid", than please let us talk. I am looking for a woman, my age is 51. And last but not least: You speak DUTCH ! (if not please do not reply at all) With love, Marcthur
  2. I am looking for an experienced motivated person who wants to do the marketing for the M&M Creations Brand. Social media, presentations (taking and tweaking pictures), blog and whatever is out there to reach customers. I want to focus on creating, that is my skill. I have no clue about marketing but I feel I have to put our brand more on the map. Please respond only if you are inspired by our products. Payment as a percentage of the increasing sales. IM : Marcthur Goosson (check my profile for inworld and marketplace stores).

    Upload UI

There is new design of the upload UI in the mesh project viewer. I want to reflect my thoughts about that: - the UI is very very big, it fills up almost half the screen. I so like the compact UI of public viewer. - there are too many mouseclicks to be done and a long way from topleft to bottomright - all the options and buttons are visible in the UI, some of them less used would be better in a pulldown - PE is gone and is now called Land Impact (who will rewrite my manuals) - why do I have to choose "This model represents"? What is the functionality - in my line of work the defaults are always From File, maybe a general chechbox to activate that for all tabs - if the UI has to be THIS big than give the preview more space and place all the buttons closer to eachother, I see a lot of useless space - a tooltip would be convenient to show the filenamepath when hovering over the filename Any more thoughts or ideas? 5. In public viewer it is BAD mesh. In project viewer it loads oke. So I know my mesh is good but SL doubts about that :-)
  6. Problem is solved with latest viewer: Second Life 3.0.6 (241818) Sep 28 2011 12:08:23 (Project Viewer - Mesh) Thanks for adequate action Prep.

    BAD Mesh

Some models won't upload and refer to the log file. Log file states no more then BAD MESH , no error information available. Does anyone know what could cause a mesh to be bad? Thanks.
  8. Thanks for making the jira. And thanks to LL for reading and working on it (keep my fingers crossed)
  9. Current public viewer does not have this problem. But it gives other problems , for some meshes I get BAD MESH error. That is why I changed to project viewer and discovered this physics problem. :-( I modelled for a week and cannot upload the build now. Just another mesh day !
  10. I always make physics myself. In general I use planes. The uploader resized/replaced those planes automaticly to the boundingbox of the mesh model. Since today this does not work properly anymore. When I load my physics dae I see the replacing/redimensioning and immediatley the calculate button greys out. I tested with using the physics dae as mesh model and the same file as physics, no problem at all. Mesh project viewer 241391. Any thoughts about this ? Thanks.
  11. Thanks Drongle, I feared an answer from you :-) You are so technical. But I understand this one :matte-motes-smitten: This of great help.

  13. Very constructive answer Poenald, at which question did you reply? Is littering forums a sport or quest of somekind?.:smileymad:
  14. Is it possible to get a simple understandable explanation of the 3 values in the upload window which make the PE count. I know it depends on many many parameters. But there should be a rule of thumb for these 3 values. e.g. more tri's is higher download, custom made physics shape (boxes) is lower physic, large object is higher server, custom or generated LOD's, etc etc. All the info is now spreaded out in the forum in technical words, formula's, and more complicated words, not to mention the definitions changed a lot. Sort of explanation for dummie's please. In 1 place accesible for everyone (sticky post?)

    Happy

I am so happy mesh is on maingrid now ! Beta is such a lonely place :matte-motes-big-grin:
  16. Isn't it so that all these small pieces go earlier to next LOD level then a whole structure would do when zooming out?

  18. If I doubt a question and answer yes it might be a lucky guess. Would be good if the no's are explained too. And if explained I am able to give a more accurate answer.
  19. No way ever that I will make such an absurd high poly attachment. And I am sure none of you overhere would do it either. It is useless. But who else knows that since there is no limit defined. After all we have 200 prim shoes, necklaces, hair etc etc in world now, simply because it is possible.
  20. I made a model with 7680 tri's in high lod and size of 0.069x0.069x0.240. I made the lower lod's too, 1920, 208, 8 tri's Model is 2 PE. I copied it 255 times and linked it. PE is 129 prims. So I have a linked set now with 1.966.080 tri's. Can be attached without problem. Would it be wise to attach such high poly models? I fear SL will freeze. We all know the laggie jewelry stuff, but this is even worse compared to sculpties (approx 512.000 tri's).
  21. And what about internet speed. Doesn't that have a huge impact on what we are able to see and stream. I can have the best graphic card but al the data have to reach my PC too. Overhere with 1mb internet, things aren't that fast. And 1 mb is no exception in the rural areas of this western country. And yes all those fantastic PC games with super realistic graphics. Don't they put some gig's first on your hard drive?
  22. The calculation takes about 10 seconds overhere. Have to calculate again for every change I make. Maybe I get reduction in upload cost then :matte-motes-angry: This is with a slow internet connection of 1 mega.
  23. Yes Object names. Maybe that purple one changes colour when you become a Linden :matte-motes-shocked:
  24. After reading all the words I decided to build the sink myself. To see what happens. I have same results. I modelled it with hard and soft edges: that gave 10 prims (without script) And the model with only soft edges: 7 prims (without script) I did not care about UV mapping for this test. (I also found a bug: texture faces switching when changing LOD) So for primcount the sculptie wins but in my opinion mesh has far more options in texturing and building accurate models. If that is a plus in a prim based economy ? Sculpties might get a PE value to in future, HELP !! I rezzed my testmodels next to Vivienne's models in sandbox 29.
