Well if people hadn't started complaining a LONG time ago about wanting their own last name we wouldn't have Resident and would still have way more FREE choices for names so now you have to pay and get less choices hehe.

I don't complain about last names as the ones who originally complained on the forums long ago about last names ended up getting us this Resident mess. I still have my original last name so I'm happy.

DJ's CAN greet lol. When people state "not supposed to" I say who made you the authority. I like to get hellos from the DJ's, it's a "nice" thing, many have become good friends. Also, fine if people can't afford to tip. Good thing complaints are free.

Some DJs & hosts are more persistent about tip reminders then others, but that's the difference in people. For DJs, if I'm into your music you will usually get a tip. For hosts, if you are welcoming and have a good vibe, the same. If these things aren't happening, you can send out reminders till Kingdom come but no tip. But I have noticed people coming to the same club, with the same DJ/host, over and over, and never tipping. OK maybe you are poor, there's always that but never tipping, not even 50L or so? Maybe at least once in every blue moon lol.

What happened to websearch??? I''m searching for live music with specific results including artist and not having much luck. This worked before the engine was re-vamped. I notice "Land to Rent or Buy and Classified Ads are standard on the page though. Do the lindens actually understand why people are in SL? I admit I'm a shopper but it's not ALL about money and most people are NOT looking for classified ads or always land to rent/buy. Please change the search engine back! EDIT...oh well there is the Events menu for that. Now there is virtually no need for the websearch page unless you are interested in linden commerce or related items.

Have a feeling this is very bad news. I don't think an investment group is going to give a freak about the residents. Sole purpose is money, will probably become very commercialized. We already have that in RL lol. They have no relationship with the game or history. Let's see how much they will take into consideration that if it wasn't for the very CREATIVE residents of SL it wouldn't be what it is today. Investment groups tend to to lose their heart and soul along the way to making money.. I worked for one. I always supported LL but I think we're just about to be royally screwed and I've put a lot of time and money into SL along the years. Randy Waterfield is pictured with a full white teeth smile with Bill Clinton of Epstein fame, hmmm. Cr*p! Brad Oberwager is all about commercialization and branding.

Good on the lindens for charging $40. I wish they had done that when peeps wanted their own last name then we wouldn't have the whole Resident thing. People want to complain they can pay for it lol.

Maybe many people like the log cabin homes but I don't at all. I'm definitely NOT a log cabin type of girl. If I decide to get one and get one of those I'll be searching for a different one asap lol. The Victorian homes seem to be extremely popular, would like to see more of those available.

Make inventory a hud in place of a long suitcase of items with folders. That's what they should've done. Really my only complaint. Inventory is very time-consuming and difficult to keep organized. The absolute worst thing about SL.

4 of these issues would be a non-issue by derendering people. You can't get people to change but you can change what you look at hehe. I agree with you about those fancy unreadable fonts. Also the many sucky display names and especially the ones with the fancy unreadable fonts. I only really like the old SL last names but since so many people complained about wanting their OWN last name we have the Resident situation with the display names feature. Then people wanted regular last names so soon there will be the option to buy a last name which is only fair I think. If people want to complain then let them pay for the feature they want lol. Sometimes just too much complaining. It's a virtual world, not going to be perfect. How can we expect so when RL isn't either.

I was in a bookstore back in 2007 and saw a book about it. Since I had played the Sims and Sims Online I was interested and bought it. Once I started reading, I was like this sounds good to me and joined. Can't remember the name of the book, it's in the house somewhere lol. Even though our avi's didn't look like much back then, it was more fun, like a wild frontier.

Think its great that they're doing this. Yeah let the users pay lol. They the ones that were complaining that they wanted their OWN last names in the first place so they can pay for the trouble of going back. I got my name hehe. People always complaining about the lindens and something they're doing but this IS a business that has to be run.

The switch to generic "Resident" last names is due to all the people who complained about the LL generated last names. It was a terrible solution but that's what you get for complaining. Now LL has a new solution due to people complaining about "Resident" last names which I believe means you'll need to be a Premium member and involves a price? Don't remember exactly and don't care to look into the details because I lost interest as it sounded to me like another screwed up solution. I was hoping for just having last LL generated last names back as they were but guess it can't be done because of how the platform is now set up. I don't blame LL though in this because they did make an attempt to be responsive to user needs and If everyone had just shut up about it in the first place we'd still have the LL generated user names. Now we have more complaints and second guesses about what LL can and cannot do about this. If I was LL I would disregard anything any user has to say about this at this point. You've all screwed it up enough.

Lips are too small, lost in a sea of chin, and you don't have much upper lip to be stiff about lol. Check out some of the other guys on this post and you will see a difference. You want the illusion that when a guy speaks he has something important to say, when you're getting kissed you're getting KISSED. doesn't work with small lips. Check out some of the guys on flickr like Skip Staheli, Misery Savira, Roy Mildor, Hikaru Enimo...

I use a face applier that was included with the Genus beta version (haven't found anything I like better!) that matches The Skinnery body appliers. So far I feel like their body appliers are the most realistic and I wouldn't consider any face applier that doesn't match it. Not Found's for Genus use Skinnery body appliers so that's an option too. I love Glam Affair (QUALITY!) although their body isn't quite as good as The Skinnery. Amara Beauty face appliers are pretty but the body appliers are not good, low detail. Started off with LAQ head Gaia which I loved but their body appliers are a deal-breaker, NOT GOOD. I was actually using my Red Mint body applier with my LAQ head and then wearing a choker that MOSTLY covered the difference in the neck. Pink Fuel, another one, good face, great make-up, body appliers nope. When I had a system skin my all-time favorite was Red Mint, best detail face and body. WISH WISH WISH that Red Mint had advanced to creating face and body appliers, then I'd probably still wear them. To get a good look together, I check out blogs, vlogs, flickr, and I also have a handy little hud that I use all the time from marketplace called, "What is She Wearing." It tells you everything an avatar is wearing. I highly recommend it and it is freeeeeeeeee yay!

The change-over to "Resident" was LL's solution to people complaining and whining about wanting to choose their own last name. It was in my opinion, a terrible solution but that's what you get for complaining. You can't make everyone happy. Now I see that people in this thread are already complaining because they won't be able to pick their last name anymore, so already complaining again lol. I think choosing a last name from a list was and is a good feature. It allows for some interesting and creative ways for matching first and last names together. It also allows you to have more choices for a first name as it's pretty difficult at this point to find a good first name when the only last name choice is Resident so you end up with a goofy first name and then needing to apply the Display Name feature to have a more preferable first name. A messy solution if you ask me, I'd rather have a first name to my liking from the get go. Also, if they are going to allow the choice of selecting a last name for a fee so what? If people want that choice let them have it.

Well I have a friend that is completely non-mesh and she's such a wonderful person that her beauty comes thru no matter how up-to-date her avi is. So there is the quality of the person behind the avi that is of great consideration. That being said, I prefer the look of mesh ordinarily. It looks better. I've been in SL a long time and seen just about every type of system skin avi so I don't think there's any surprises there. Ordinarily you're just not looking good with system and you probably won't be able to prove it to me. But then again, you have full mesh avi's with the big behinds and the dancing boobies, wearing hardly any clothes which means we get to see all their nastiness, with the crouching AO's that looks like they need to go to the ladies room. I'd definitely prefer a system avi over seeing that. Mesh doesn't mean you have good taste lol. But no matter what, this is SL and you have to do what you want. I block anyone that really has a offensive avi and then at the end of the year I unblock everyone and begin again at the beginning of the new year lol. That way they can go their way, being who they are, and I don't have to be bothered about it.

Thanks Pixie. Yes SL can work for some fine and then others just having issues. I finally was able to rezz my avi so that's progress.

Yes my friends are having problems and there's posts in my groups about it.
