@Jordan WhittOh we get taught to do that from birth in England.... we just say "sorry" in an apologetic manner instead. This behaviour has made the rest of the world think the English are a very polite people.

Oh how we secretly laugh.... 😜

I am actually English...just been in NZ too long I guess.  I need a refresher course!

  2. Cat is asserting predatorial dominance of the new home.

First....dead mouse proudly brought in and dropped in front of the telly when I was sprawled out watching it.  Secondly...returning from the bedroom to find feathers all over my newly vacuumed lounge room floor.  Both incidences happened within two hours.  Looked everywhere and could not find any birdy remains anywhere.

She was pretty proud of herself though!

I didn't notice too many people who disliked random IMs.

    *raises hand*

I dislike random IMs when I'm shopping.  That's when I like to just zip in, grab what I want and then leave.  Its always linden beggars or strange men hanging out trying to pick someone up...and that ain't gonna be me!I

Other times I can take it or leave it.  Sometimes I'm in the mood to chat and get IMd by a dud...someone who expects me to carry the conversation.

Probably why Ikea has those instructions with drawing on how to put flat-packed item together.

Those type of instructions are a peeve to me!

I spent a couple of hours yesterday putting together my new computer desk...with instructions in chinese.  Good thing it had pictures!  Today was two sets of outdoor furniture assembling.  Tomorrow...if my new tv stand arrives (movers broke my original one) more assembling may be in the cards.

Good thing I actually enjoy doing stuff like this.

Peeve - cutting up my hand up using a screwdriver when putting together a tallboy.  Solved by going and buying an electric one for the other tallboy.

  5. I was TEN DAYS without furniture and sleeping on a blow up mattress...omg my back was killing me.  It's been almost two weeks and no sign of my car...my huge stuffed unicorn soft toy is in it!  Cat made it safely though and is going through a very creepy affectionate phase.  Let her out for the first time today and she did well.

Bright side - ordered and have received my new computer, monitor, keyboard and stuff...just waiting on the desk now.  But peeved cos I'm waiting on the internet cable thingie to be run under the house to the spot I am going to situate myself.

    So moving - MAJOR peeve.

    Another new pet peeve:

People who ride bicycles on the pavement (sidewalk) when a dedicated bicycle lane is LITERALLY ON THE ROAD!!!

    MOVE! Grrr!

That was the one thing I hated most about the lockdowns.  People on bikes who took over the road as there would be fudge all cars on it.  It was especially annoying when you'd get stuck behind some butt slow cycling in the MIDDLE of the traffic lane!

Well congrats folks, your mission was accomplished.

You pushed me out of the conversation because I dared to have a different opinion than yours...and then you laughed about it.  Who really is the one who brought nastiness to the thread causing its closure?

I knew it was only a matter of time with the usual suspects.

My peeve - Being labelled and blamed for something when all the nastiness was ACTUALLY coming from the OTHER side.

I guess this is what happens when we now live in a world of perpetual and professional victim-hood.

  8. Oh I have NO PROBS using mine as well.  But then I have to see what they are writing when people quote them, and that's usually when I get sucked into viewing their posts and commenting on them.

Have you thought that maybe that person doesn't need you to be their voice for them?

Let's just say, the white knight virtue signalling gene is strong with that one.
