I spent two years only logging in to shop, sort my inventory, taking pics to keep up with blogging, logging out. I couldn't handle how SL made me feel for the longest time. Then I thought I was ready to put myself out there again and started venturing into clubs, trying to be more sociable...but that bit me on the butt so stopped doing that. Tried the relationship track - BIG mistake. I'm back to where I was not wanting to be in SL again. Thank goodness for Netflix!
I hope we both manage to pull ourselves out of this funk!

I like it when I wake up and @Jordyn McGregor has written something that reminds me I should listen to this song more often.

It's been a while since I approach my pictures in a different way (using injected shaders and dynamic super resolution instead) but if memory serves, depth of field settings are tied to a specific resolution. Thus if you set it up to be just right with your screen resolution - but then go and set it to a higher resolution in the snapshot window, it will mess up the depth of field. Black Dragon at some point had a function (or still has? haven't used that in a while) to automatically approximate the settings, I'm not sure whether any of the other viewers do.
So if I am reading what you are saying right, I should have my snapshot window set to screen size?

I've been trying all this advice too, but my problem is that on my screen the background is blurred nicely, but I take the pic and its all in focus and not what my screen shows at all. What step am I missing?

I'm coming out of my flounce to give my opinion as someone who was a part of the Les Belles community and was interested in participating more.
The events were always at a bad time for me, and probably a lot of members. There was only one time option, which only suited people in the European time zone or didn't work or sleep for others. The chosen time of 10am - 12pm was 5am - 7am for me...and I wasn't conscious. I would have LOVED to come to the parties and was really interested in attending the blogger and photographer discussion groups. If there had been two time options, ie 10am and then another at 6pm (for example), I would have been there with bells on.
The competitions were fun and I enjoyed the two I entered.
I'm sad to see the sim go, and that the Flickr group has been disabled. Thank you for trying.

I finally get to put into action something I learnt from @Seicher Rae.
And now consider me "flounced".

I hate when they sell bikinis as separate parts so you're actually paying 100-200L for the bathing suit. Especially when they're solid colors!
Peeves me off more when its a dress with panties. I REALLY wanted to buy one, but the dress was 250L and the PANTIES were 250L too. How the fudge can they justify THAT!!!!! I was NOT paying 500L for one fricken outfit.
But yes, bikinis and lingerie. They should sell as SETS!!!

There's a well known and popular store in SL that, when participating in the weekend sales event, used to have mini packs of items with maybe 6 or so colours in it for the discounted price of 60L or 75L, depending on which event it was in.
Peeve: Now they're doing single colours for the discount price and no more mini packs.
I know I am being entitled and the store has every right to want to make money. It still peeves me!!!
Plus it peeves me that I can't use my store credit on their sales items!!!

Ahhhh thinking ...
... just for a while, for me personally, it would be pure bliss.

I wasn't actually suggesting blocking free speech. I actually meant, if we were all offended by the same things, then there would be no cruelty to animals, violence against women, paedophilia, so-called roleplay groups that have SS in their logo. That was what I was actually meaning. We would still all like or dislike Marmite, we would still all prefer cats to dogs or dogs to cats, all of the stuff that really makes us interesting.
You (and everyone else obviously judging by the lack of responses to my earlier post) have misunderstood.
Just like a mental health counsellor once did.
What I had actually said then was: "I don't believe Jimmy Savile is guilty of all he has been accused of." What I should have said was "I don't believe Jimmy Savile is guilty of all he has been accused of, and the counsellor wrote it down and requoted to me later as me having said "I belive Jimmy Savile is innocent". I did not say that, I did not mean that. What I said was what I meant.
_____
Freedom of speech is one thing, foisting a hard opinion on another person and then battering it home with a doctored version of the truth via video is coercive and controlling, and to be very clear about what I am talking about, it is an anti-Muller (brand of yogurt) advert created by a vegan company. It really has messed with my already fractured mind this week.
But that is for another mental health counsellor for another day, certainly not for these forums where I come to try and escape real world for a little while.
I wasn't having a go at you, or intending to cause (irony) offense. I was just musing out loud how scary a uniform world of thought would be.

Peeve: the fact that as human beings we are not all offended by the same things. Life would be better if we were all on the same page.
I strongly disagree with this and in fact, find that concept scary! Think how boring life would be if everyone agreed. It would kill conversation and free speech, and forget having differing opinions and the debates that come with them. But that does seem to be what certain groups want these days.

I met a fellow at a club a while back, loved a few things he had in his profile and have some of them para-phrased in mine. The difference - I asked his permission (and got it) first.
Worse is seeing pics of yourself taken from Flickr on someone else's profile. Been there!!!
