  1. POCKETFUL OF CROWS "A Named Thing is a Tamed Thing" A beautiful tale of love, loss and revenge, A Pocketful of Crows balances youth and age, wisdom and passion and draws on nature and folklore to weave a stunning modern mythology around a nameless wild girl. Only love could draw her into the world of named, tamed things. And it seems only revenge will be powerful enough to let her escape. Accompanying this event is a special Art Exhibit at the Newgrange Museum and Art Gallery, where more than two dozen pictures from this book are on display, along with kiosks to let you ‘get to know’ the author & illustrator. 2. Just a reminder to folks... Premium currently only costs you about $6/year.. yes a YEAR!! Holly Carp folks... 50 cents a month and people are kibitzing about the cost? Well, for me I highly applaud the Lindens keeping things active and making more exciting changes! NOTE: Premium costs $72/year, Lindens gives you back a $1000L bonus after 30 days, PLUS $300L a week stipend. Math: $72/year Yearly refund from Lindens = 1,000L$ + 300L$x52 = 16,600L$ = $66.40 (assume 250L$/USD) $72 - $66.40 = $5.60 Yes, but that refund is in L$! Well, I would submit if you're not spending that anyway then you're not really participating much, but hey, YMMV

  5. "When churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes" CLAY-SHUTTERED DOORS “Love may be eternal, but Lovers are mortal… Aren’t they??” Some restless spirits do not depart in peace because they cannot—or will not! Perhaps it is unfinished business that detains them, a bargain made, a promise unfulfilled. Perhaps a desperate yearning, their own or another’s, that knots that otherwise-severed golden thread. Tonight we continue our journey through the ancient lychgate and across the kirkyard. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Holly Kai Estates/213/43/27 http://www.kitely.com/search?q=seanchai

  7. DECEMBER 27th thru JANUARY 3rd a plein-air exhibit will be open for one week only on the lawn at the Art Gallery in Holly Kai. More than two dozen exquisite illustrations from the story 'The Ice Dragon' will be on display. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Holly Kai Estates/180/119/31 ON JANUARY 3rd The Seanchai Library will be presenting 'The Ice Dragon' as a live voice Storytelling event at 7pm SLT. See www.SeanchaiLibrary.com for more information. In George R.R. Martin's world of 'A Song of Ice and Fire' the ice dragon was a creature of legend and fear, for no man had ever tamed one. 'THE ICE DRAGON' is a novella by George R. R. Martin, first published in 1980 in the anthology Dragons of Light. The story was reworked to make it more suitable for a younger audience in October 2007, with detailed pencil drawings by Yvonne Gilbert. It was published again in 2014, with a series of original paintings by Luis Royo. GEORGE R.R. MARTIN is of course the author of the series 'A Song of Ice and Fire' - The thrilling history of the Targaryens comes to life in HBO’s epic series 'Game of Thrones'. http://www.georgerrmartin.com https://www.hbo.com/game-of-thrones LUIS ROYO is a Spanish artist. He is best known for his lavish, fantasy illustrations published in numerous art books, magazines such as Heavy Metal and various other media including book, music CD covers, and video games. http://www.luisroyo.com/en/ THE NOVELLA follows the story of a young girl, Adara, who befriends an ice dragon after the death of her mother. As of May 2018, the favorite bedtime story of the denizens of the world of Ice and Fire is being brought to the big screen by Warner Brothers Studios! Martin will serve as a producer, with Game of Thrones producer Vince Gerardis serving as executive producer. While Martin has stated that 'The Ice Dragon' is not necessarily set in the world of 'A Song of Ice and Fire', and actual ice dragons have not appeared in the series, yet, it is rife with foreshadowing and hints of what Martin has created throughout his epic fantasy series. So don't be surprised to find ice dragons soaring through the skies beyond The Wall and, perhaps, even crossing it in the novels yet to come. STORY SYNOPSIS When it flew overhead, it left in its wake desolate cold and frozen land. But Adara was not afraid. For Adara was a winter child, born during the worst freeze that anyone, even the Old Ones, could remember. Adara could not remember the first time she had seen the ice dragon. It seemed that it had always been in her life, glimpsed from afar as she played in the frigid snow long after the other children had fled the cold. In her fourth year she touched it, and in her fifth year she rode upon its broad, chilled back for the first time. Then, in her seventh year, on a calm summer day, fiery dragons from the North swooped down upon the peaceful farm that was Adara's home. And only a winter child—and the ice dragon who loved her—could save her world from utter destruction.
