No matter how much we bash Second Life, in the "end", we are "not" here and "seriously" regretting the decision made to stick with SL after thier first mismanagement back in 2008 (Private Land fee decrease= Devalue of thousands of properties at that time)

For real LL. Have some dignity and stop saying comments like the first torley said in the display video "As a result of your beloved residents feedback". That's BS! You did not listen to residents and went on with this display name thing that is obviously useless. I have never seen a tool this useless. I mean.. I'm still wondering what that changes and who ever thought this one up. Worse part, in addition to display name: - Second Life main name - Display name - Group tag! Who's going to walk around feeling like a stuffed turkey with names hovering over thier heads in mass?? When are you guys going to add the next "Non-Useful" stuff to the viewer2? Maybe have residents actually able to morph into the rl personality of their choice... or even better.. Create an addition that gives copy botters the occasion to totally ruin SL.. Oh no... Make it possible for resident to be able to do the Thriller dance once logged inworld automatically... Or simply be able to morph back and forth into a nice huge chicken when desired.... duh Oh no, i want to be able to fish with my 7seas and at the same time be able to roast the fish on the spot and serve it... mdr! This is a pure joke... BRAVO!!!! (Not sure many will stay around to laugh some more) Otherwise, enjoy the new Display name viewer, those who asked for it.

Dear LL, Thank you Jack for showing us the LL Team is listening to us residents "pour" and "contre" concerning Display name intergration, but.. Honestly: This goes to show you guys did NOT even bother to listen to any of the worries content creators evoked in the previous post The LL Team totally forgot that there are real risks involved, especially for those who have rl companies and have thier VAT n° registered Not all residents asked for the display name feature, not especially with all the other issues exisiting the past months that you guys obviously chose to ignore. If you can add such an unuseful and meaningless option like Display name, why not make changes to the following that actually means a lot to many residents including myself: Add more than 25 group space for residents instead of the usual 25 (and 26 only when there are concierge members events) Fix the sim crossing issues thats become rather problematic for people with more than one sim on the same grid location Investigate AR's correctly before banning residents who did nothing at all but send a group message Review the conception of Viewer 2 so everyone can actually use it, not just a handful of residents Not to mention the tiny other issues thats made SL become a platform of "incertainty" since 2008 already, starting with the devaluation of private regions with the land price decrease. When I (as well as the majority of residents investing in making "your world" better) decided to join SL it was because I thought there were lots of possibilities for creativity, without risk or danger, especially when rl cash is involved. Not because I wanted just another virtual world to run around in and play or throw money away (The Sims, WOW or Diabloo II is there for that). But over the past year or two, it's been one unecessary decision after another. The money your "Premium" residents spend her is enough to feed the less privileged of this world! I for example have a perfect reason to want to change my name, and would have been the first to shout out my joy about the addition of display names (Ohren means "Ears" in german). At first i was just about ready to beg to have my first name changed, but after three years passed in here, of what use is it changing my name now i fully established myself in SL? Who would be ready to see me differently than Ohren beck aka "Ears"? So no, I am so not happy about this, and totally disapointed that even with the previous blog post announcing the beta version of the display name projects, LL totally chose to ignore protestations and continue with this folie. At this stage there is nothing we can do but hope you, Jack and your team at LL decides to shun this idea... totally once and for all. If residents want to change thier name, have them pay to have it changed like other platforms, not totally making it possible for people to be ripped off. Cause the fact remains the same, If people are not allowed to change thier names to "Linden", it is because you do NOT want people running around pretending to be a LL Team staff. Will it be unfair to accord the same privilege to those you pretend to respect and consider as "Premium clients"? No one likes to be ripped off, no matter how much you try to make all of this look like candy from a distance. You are losing the trust of your clients LL... Peace out
