Well I hop  you find what you are looking for --- BUT since you typically tend to enjoy complaining on these forums I am doubting you will. IF someone knows where to get what you want I hope that they STILL post here (some will not you know) as "I" would like to see them also.

You also need to realize that your wants and sizing is a VERY SMALL section of the SL populous -- hence most creators make things that will sell to more folks unless they happen to make a certain size for themselves and then put on the Marketplace.

    Lol. Complaining?

    • You think looking for hard-to-find things is "complaining"?
    • You think saying "no that's not what I'm looking for" is "complaining"?
    • You think being harsh to people advertising their own completely unrelated products is "complaining"?

So you think I should show gratitude towards someone posting "CLICK HERE TO BUY MY HOUSE" in my thread asking for ideas for mesh terrain? Or simply say "oh yes that's perfect" for every single suggestion provided regardless of whether or not they actually are? "Oh yes thanks that's exactly the wooden cabin I'm looking for, despite the fact I'm looking for mesh islands".

Why are you even posting here if you don't want to help? You doubt I'll find what I'm looking for? LOL ok sure, whatever. Maybe you should go learn what the word "complain" means before using it.

Get some mesh landscape and compare with manor from my shop.

You honestly think you're gonna get more sales by repeatedly spamming the forum with your own ads?

If you're gonna blatantly advertise your stuff at least link to something that's relevant to the topic, or at least high quality. Whatever you linked is obviously neither. Probably one of the worst looking houses I've ever seen.

There are actually lots of things you can do with a quarter of a sim up in the sky. There are a variety of landforms on the marketplace. I prefer mesh over sculpt as I hate teleporting into a giant blob surrounding me while it rezzes. I have some walkable hills but they are only good up to 64 meter size. Likely someone else has larger ones and I plan to make some too but I have lots on my todo list at the moment so that is working its way up slowly.

With some gorgeous trees and rocks things can SEEM very ground-level.  You could of course learn how to make your own but the learning curve is pretty steep -- still a good skill.

Meanwhile feel free to visit the upper levels at LEA6 where full sim environments will emerge as time and energy permits. Now there are just hints of what will come :D.  I DO agree that FINDING things on the Marketplace is definitely a quest LOL and I wish you luck.

But know that it IS possible to have a nice place in the sky.

The issue is finding good mesh terrain. Stuff like trees and other sim decor are so easy to find.

I've been looking on marketplace for over an hour and can't find a single good mesh terrain that actually has enough flat space for a house. I mean I seriously don't get what most creators are thinking, everything I've found are simply natural landscaping with bumps and hills completely covering it, making it useless for rezzing any architecture on it. KatoYouji's stuff are great looking but suffer from the same problem - the most flat space I've ever found on all of his islands was approximately 25x25, nowhere near enough for a relatively large house.

With that said, something similar to KatoYouji's islands, but with at least 40x40 of flat space on it, would be perfect. I'm not looking for anything fancy anymore, just a simple, very large island with enough flat space, surrounded by mesh water and some cliffs surroundings, would be sufficient. Mesh water and cliff surroundings are easy enough to find.

Can mesh hair actually be flexi?

(I assume not, but my curiosity is stronger than my common sense/ego.)

No, but it can contain flexi, although usually that ends up looking terrible.

Ways to simulate movement with mesh right now:

    • Bento, though it's highly awkward to simulate hair movement with just bento bones so rarely anyway does this
    • Using multiple copies of the strand, each one in a slightly different shape, then flipping opacity of each one to simulate stop-motion (most common method)

Of course that might change once Animesh is out.

  5. I'm looking for that fully functional, free, full-perm mesh Bomberman arcade machine that was available on marketplace about a year ago (or earlier). I accidentally deleted my copy of that machine when I was cleaning my inventory. The creator left SL and no longer has a shop on Marketplace or in-world.

I can't remember the creator name, but I remember the machine was playable and not a pose prop or simple URL to some flash game site (use arrow keys or WASD to move or something), upright, and pale blue in colour. It looks like an arcade machine, it's not a simple flat prim or anything like that. It was either called "Bomberman" or "Bomb Man" or some other weird spelling of it.

Does anyone still have a copy of that, and able to send me a copy (since it's free and full-perm)?

    Thanks.

  6. This is the equivalent of complaining someone PK'd you in an MMO and now you want all 50k players in the game to boycott the game until that player is banned.

I can't tell if OP is just trolling or just immature.

    • Relying on SL as the single source of church service? Lol. What if you have internet issues? What if the "pastor" forgets to show up? What if SL shuts down? You do realize there are live broadcasts of probably thousands of church services around the world that's 10x better than using a virtual sim for church service?
    • Crying and getting mad because someone "farted in your face" in a virtual sim. Lol either you were brought up as part of the royal family or you were homeschooled, in an extremely agoraphobic manner. I'm having trouble imagining what pills and legal actions you'd have to take if someone actually dared to play a prank on you in RL
    • Want everyone in the game to help you protest... lmao. Sorry I'm having a really hard time sympathizing with your "traumatizing" encounter
    • You must be really new to online sims/games if you think griefers care about being banned when they've invested nothing into their accounts and can create alts in the next 30sec

I'd suggest Neopets or Club Penguin would probably be more suitable for you two. Definitely no one to fart in your face there.

  7. I'm looking for ideas for building a home in the sky, since there's not much room ground-level at the sim I live in. I'm mostly having trouble with the ground itself since the things you can do with mesh is kind of limited compared to terraforming:

    • Not looking for an enclosed skybox or dome
    • Preferably nothing too fantasy-looking (like a huge floating rock that resembles something from Final Fantasy or anime)
    • Not looking for full-sim landscapes, my space is about quarter sim, but can't be tiny like 50x50 or something. I'd say it should at least fill 50-60% of the parcel
    • Definitely not looking for simple flat panoramas to simulate surroundings, those look absolutely terrible
    • Mesh

I need some good looking platforms that look natural and realistic to resemble the linden land at least, doesn't matter if it's snow, forest or sand.

Haven't found much on marketplace as most things are for decorating the sim ground-level, not for building the ground itself.

    Thanks.

A-You do NOT take up space once you log out. Once you log out, you're out, your av is not counted in the avatar count on the parcel. There is no "daily limit of 40"...that makes no sense at all. The 40 av limit is how many can be on at a given point in time, not in TOTAL for an entire day, lol.  Unless someone has  a parcel set up to only allow 40 people per day and then shuts down all access until the next day(and I agree, that would be stupid, but merely form a business standpoint, and way more involvement than I think most event organizers/reps really want to deal with..more people=more money). From your post I don't think that's what you're talking about though, it sounds more like you do not understand what avatar limits are, or how they work, since you don't know that once you log out, you no longer count on the "avatar number count" for a parcel/sim.

B-How do you propose people do an online version of the event?  Aside from utilizing the MP, there is NO method for doing an online version-and there can't really be one either, that's by design (by LL's design I might add, not any individual event organizer's or participant's design).  I have seen a LOT of events, promos, etc.. available through MP too though, including some associated with inworld events.

C-No event is this popular the entire two weeks.....and I mean an emphatic NO event. I like to go to events-not to shop, but because I like looking at builds and scenery..yes I'm weird like that. I can get into nearly any event, if not the first day, usually the second. If I don't get in on the first day, it's nearly always because at some point, I simply stop trying. Very few are all that busy past the first few days. Going in a day or so after others doesn't make you any less "keeping up with things", lmao. It sounds extremely silly to even suggest that. If you find no value in any event past it's first or second day, that's all on you, no one else. I can't say I've run into too many that feel the same way. Sure I've seen folks say they wish they could get in the first day, just to be able to say they did it, but aside from that..there's not much special about going the first day, versus any other day-including the last. The same stuff is still there(and sometimes, the first day everything isn't even there, I see that a lot too) each and every day of the event, you're not missing out on anything.

A - Um yes offlines DO take up a space. Why do you think the parcel shows like 43 people sometimes when the limit is clearly 40 when those offlines log back on? Do you think people can get in when there are 43 people? No it means those bums who log off inside the sim gotta log back in and get out before someone else can get in, hence taking up a spot. Do you know how placeholders work? Clearly you don't. Also did you read the part where I clearly said I used an auto-teleporter for 24 hours? How many hours does a day have? Now explain to me how it doesn't make sense to say "the daily entry limit is 40", because no one fricking leaves the sim once they go in. Lol I don't know about avatar limit? Yeah right sure, I think I have a couple times more experience in SL than you. Might want to check your facts before you try to blindly defend something. Are you perhaps one of the organizers or such event?

B- How about collaborate with LL on making a microsite within marketplace or separate altogether, since LL already has an events microsite? I'm exposing something that is extremely primitive and backwards for an online sim in the year 2018. It's already nearly unacceptable for MMORPG's to even have login queues nowadays, you think there aren't any ways to get around a ridiculous 40 avatar limit in the biggest virtual sim in the world? And what's wrong with marketplace events, especially since a lot of stores have done so in the past? Who actually wants to bear the stupid lag in an inworld event with 39 other people moving at the speed of a turtle and taking half an hour to rez everything? It's a frickin online sim. That would be like Amazon hosting an in-world only event at one of their warehouses

C- Re-read the part where I literally said "yes you can enter in like the last 2 days of the event, which defeats the purpose of an event". Hey if you're one of those people who don't mind getting an iPhone or Galaxy 3 months after it's out then good for you? There are actually people like me (as well as a few hundred million others in RL and probably countless in SL as well) who LIKES keeping up with fashion and technology, deal with it. You think bloggers will get to do what they do if they blog about something in SL 2 weeks after it opens? Lol grow up

  9. How many active avatars does SL have? I have absolutely no idea but I'm guessing it's at least 10k? Is it just me or the idea of hosting a very popular event in SL (don't want to give any names in case some mod get oversensitive about it and give me some bull***** warning for "slandering"), in a sim that has a limit of only 40 avatars, for only 2 weeks, very... stupid? Especially considering the following

    • If you log out inside the sim, you still take up a slot from the 40 until you decide to log back in, and teleport out
    • 99% of sims don't have neighbouring sims where you can land and cam inside
    • Even real life events have online versions now. Don't want the traffic jam? Then shop online, no one's stopping you from being modern

This is pretty much the equivalent of the Apple Store or Microsoft Store having some crazy sale or release of some hyped up item, but restricting it to physical stores only, and limiting daily customer entry to 40.

What's the benefit of restricting literally EVERYTHING to in-world only? For an online sim this is like taking a huge step backwards since most people even do their RL shopping online now. Every time ANY fashion event starts, it's always a complete headache trying to get in. I literally have to afk for like 24 hours with my auto-TP script in order to have a shot to get in. Yes you should have no problem getting in maybe 2 days before the event ends, but as someone who's really into fashion and likes to keep up with things, what's the point of going to some "fashion event" when the damn event is already almost over? There's nothing "event" about it anymore.

  10. Meh Renegade stuff all have really poor model and texture quality, they just all look distorted for some reason, when you compare to something like Ncore or Phedora which look really real and clean. There used to be this shop called "Hyperion Creations" by this French creator, but I think her shop is shut down now.

That one from Azoury just looks silly. Not looking for clown shoes or stilts, just looking for high plats... maybe ~12inch?

I'll take another look at other Azoury stuff, I'm pretty familiar with that shop and if I recall correctly most of their stuff look rather whacky or only works for fantasy looks, like full of spikes and stuff.

Hey thanks for looking. They look nice but not really the height I was looking for, it's about 2-3 times too low. Great for a casual outfit though, but not really suitable for the look I'm building.

  12. I'm looking for shops with a lot of boots or heels that has extremely high platforms.

    Shops I already know about:

    • N-core
    • Moda
    • KC Couture (doesn't have much high plats)
    • Phedora
    • Reign (doesn't have much high plats)

Already checked on marketplace but didn't find much other than the above 5 stores.

    The height I'm looking for:

Image may contain: shoes and text

[MODA] ALANA THIGH HIGH BOOTS & HUD

[MODA] PAYNE MISTRESS PLATFORMS & HUD (ANKLES/S.E.)

Really like the last one especially how the platforms are tapered inwards, however the straps on the front of the foot ruins it.

  13. Anyone with more than 1 yr of exp in mesh fashion in SL can sniff one of these worthless stores from a mile away. I know exactly which store OP is referring to, and I actually flagged a lot of their products in the past as well, and probably even wrote a thread about it a while back. Here are the facts:

    • LL doesn't give a crap about fake reviews. Why? Fake reviews = more sales = more $ in LL's pockets. A few pissed off customers like OP and myself don't mean a pickle to them
    • LL doesn't allow announcing the store's name here because it will hurt their sales = hurt LL's $
    • It takes less than 20min to create 20 alts. Within an hour you have an instant "hot selling" product
    • That store is known to constantly remove listings with negative reviews and repost them, or somehow bribing LL to remove negative reviews
    • All their demos changed to 1L after they found people 1-starring their crappy product demos. Absolutely pathetic
    • The creator pretends to create "original mesh", when in reality has zero talent and just uses cheap full perm mesh kits. A simple inspect on any of their products will reveal the creator name

Just a quick tip: use the NOT operator to filter out this crappy store from your marketplace searches. For example, search "dress NOT [store name]", case-sensitive and needs to match EXACT name (cause LL's search algorithm sucks donkey balls) to filter out any garbage by [store name].

When I want to filter out gacha, I check no transfer. Pretty easy. That being said, I detest gacha being on the MP at all. Gacha WAS a game, a hunting type of game where you attempted to collect a set via the machine, then you tp'd about searching for your missing pieces. There was a community and it was a good community. Now, its all on MP the fun has gone out of gacha and cheats have taken advantage of not being accountable [as they would have to be inworld] to exploit gacha. Disallow gacha resale on MP entirely is my steadfast opinion.

So basically you're saying just because you like spending 2 hours hopping inworld to find 1 item, and probably not even find it, instead of 2min on the marketplace, everyone should keep you company? Are you one of those people who think that just because they "miss walking and breathing fresh air", cars shouldn't have been invented and everyone should walk 2 hours to work like you? If you don't like using marketplace to buy gachas, here's a genius idea: how about just don't use it yourself? Problem solved. Excuse me for not wanting to bear the stupid lag of gacha yardsales and spending 2 frickin hours to search for items and 99% of the time don't even find it, or find it being overpriced.

Lol and people being "accountable" selling gachas just because it's inworld? How naive are you? You realize it takes literally less than 20min to make a team of 20+ alts? And that gacha items are all transferrable? It's actually LESS SAFE to buy gachas inworld, why? Cause you can't even leave a review or report them if they sell you an empty box. At least on marketplace if you got scammed you could flag/report + leave a scathing review, granted it might not do anything but at least better than nothing.

    /facepalm

Google docs does everything that 699L purchase does and more. Also good luck using that for any inventory of more than 1k items. You have to manually upload a photo for every single piece of clothing. Oh and you have to pay 10L for each upload, so for anyone with a huge inventory like me, we have to pay like 10k in upload costs lmao. Calling it primitive and backwards is an understatement.

  16. Maitreya and TMP are the two bodies refusing to release mesh dev kits, cause the creators are stubborn you-know-whats not intelligent enough to see the benefit it brings if more artists can create models for their body. I know a dozen very talented creators who have been applying for the damn mesh kit since it was released, and still being rejected to this day. So if you're not already a well-known store with million-linden sales you can just forget about developing mesh clothes for it. Texture appliers I'm pretty sure is 0L in the store.

  17. Anyone know if there is there some plugin for browsers that alerts when favourited stores release new products or product updates, since the SL marketplace lacks most basic ecommerce platform features? There are like a dozen shops I keep bookmarked, and since I really like some of their products I'm forced to sort them by newest->oldest, and open their links one by one to check if they have new products released.

A proper filter system would be great as a browser plugin as well.

Can you give a SLURL to one of the locations you can reproduce this?

Have you tried a cache clear yet?
I know a cache clear is wrongly recommended as the miracle "fix it all" for all manor of problems, but in this case it's worth a shot.
It's possible that you have corrupted slc files in your object cache for certain regions.  If you do, then as soon as the viewer renders the "problem" object, you'll crash & this kind of crash is often  "viewername.exe has stopped responding"  rather then a clean crash to desktop.

If a cache clear doesn't help, do you know how to find your viewer log files?
I suspect there won't be a dmp for this crash but maybe the session log will give a clue to the problem.

Yeah tried cache clear many times, didn't help. Neither did a clean re-install.

There are two logs that are updated at the time of crash, crashreport.log and firestorm.log.

    Crashreport.log: https://pastebin.com/eATqegYz

Firestorm.log is way too large to paste, is there anything I should be looking at?

Go to one of the places you DON'T automatically crash in, find the "Object to Object Occlusion" setting (usually off the Developer Menu), turn it off...

See if that fixes it. Lots ob objects close together in the build, + O2O occlusion, + ALM can sometimes severely overload your viewer and cause lag spikes that end with you disconnected, black screen lag spikes, and / or crashes, especially if your RenderVolumeLodFactor is set too damn high (ie standard FS user lodfactor 4).

Developer -> rendering -> object object occlusion?

Disabled it but still crashing. =/
