  1. I'm the owner of Enchanted Mermaid Gallery which features exhibits and I have purchased photography for my own collection. No only am I seeking photographers to sell and exhibit their work there, I am open to artists/photographers meeting there. The upstairs wing has a talk-show like stage you can use or I can set up tables and chairs for you. IM me (Netera Landar) or send me a notecard for info. It would only not be available when I have live entertainment, which I'm hoping is a few times a month. Let's work together. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Nemento/193/86/23 --Netera Landar
  2. What blogs/magazines have you written for? What topics do you cover? Reply through an IM please.
  3. If you love HG Wells, I need your help. I'm currently creating a HG Wells exhibit for Snug Harbor. I'd like to include objects that relate to HG's books: The Time Machine and War of the Worlds. I'm not looking for objects with sound or large dimensions, just something I can put in a display case or display on the floor pointing out the books. Please contact me with your ideas. --Netera Landar
  4. In an attempt to create a gallery that is informative and motivational we're opening with an "Iconic Women," exhibit on Snug Harbor for those who have dared to navigate a different course that society allowed at the time. Archive photos include Harriet Tubman, Marie Curie, Amelia Earhart, Rosa Parks, etc. along with motivational quotes. The grand opening is slated for January 2. Hope you can be there. Lyrical Cafe's hostess, Kamille Kamala-Khan and I will will read poetry with a strong message. Readings will be in Netera's Coffee Lounge and then we'll go upstairs to the gallery. I'm currently interested in planning the second and third shows. IM me or send notecards with your creative ideas. I'd love to see themed scenes or sculptures. Educational is a plus. I may make this first show a traveling exhibit. We'll see if there's interest. Netera Landar
  5. SL Photography Needed For Themed Exhibits on Snug Harbor I'm looking for photographer proposals for work to be exhibited for a month. I'm not looking for your basic landscaping. I want something with impact: emotional, a powerful statement, beautiful, sad, historical, fashion, etc. Photographer bios and statements appreciated. Please contact Netera Landar. Iconic women photography needed immediately. There is no fee for installation. If the gallery receives tips, I will share with the photographer. Looking for event sponsors. Promoted on Facebook and twitter.
  6. I am changing the focus of the first exhibit to Iconic Women. I did this because my fourth real life manuscript is a time travel and I'm learning about the exceptional contributions women have made in our history. I have photos and quotes of women in American history that I respect and will use a wall to display them. I would like to feature SL women who have made great contributions to the virtual world in recorded shows, magazines, art, education, equal rights, fashion, etc. I'd like to feature their portrait and pictures focusing on their work, as well. In addition, photography portraying women's strength, intelligence, search for adventure, building, even in a futuristic image, is needed. IM me at Netera Landar. The gallery is on the second floor of my Snug Harbor Coffee Shop on the boardwalk next door to the Dance Emporium. You can use the teleport button near the counter (it's blue on the floor) or the exterior staircase. Netera Landar
  7. Netera's Studio seeks expressive art with a "real theme" for our first exhibit to contrast "Hollywood glamour." That would include relationships, challenges, natural beauty. Also needed: full body white mannequins frames suggestions art deco furniture Sponsors are welcomed and appreciated Netera Landar

  15. For three years, I've hosted a Saturday chat on the sim Terric. My guests have included authors, poets, photographers, musicians and artists. In January and February I'm including two new segments of the Netera Landar Chat. What I need are 2 machinima artists to record my chat on different weeks and upload it to a specific site. A fundraiser will be held after the holidays to help provide me with a budget. I'll be offering a set SL price not a RL price. I'll be looking for people who sign up and come through. Help is always appreciated. --Netera Landar
  16. Helena, There are many people not only from Brazil, but other countries as well. If anything you will learn English by speaking with others. I'm sure there is even a translator. To begin your journey, I'd recommend joining a music group to learn about the wonderful variety of concerts offered on Second Life. There are also authors giving new book readings. There are clubs that have djs or singers to entertain those that come to the venues. There are stores to purchase clothes, homes, you name it. Beautiful gardens, also. How about a movie? Sweet Dreams Theatre allows you to see about 80 movies with quick time. Also check out The Rose Theater. I think you'll be amazed with that build. Nettie
  17. Hi Hotrod, I wish I had known about your club. If you ever decide to start up another let me know. I know someone who manages SL properties and maybe he knows a good parcel that doesn't cost a ton of money. In the meantime, why don't we continue this thread by mentioning more great places we love to hang out. Feel free to IM me about them. Hope to meet you all in world. I've had one invite and it was very nice. Nettie

  19. There is one special sim where creativity and friendship are a natural element, that's Inspire Space Park. I've been to a lot of sims since I signed on, Inspire continues to be my favorite. When I'm not writing for SL blogs and magazines, that's where I am. Hope to see you all there. Nettie
  20. Storm, Drama is like paying taxes. I don't have to explain that. First, I think you need to sit on a meditational pillow and focus on your real life and second life. When you drum up your issues it's only firing up the emotion that rides along with it. Set it free, Storm and you'll be free. I suggest you don't go into a new relationship right away. You need to find you and have some personal growth. Focus on the positive. Nettie
  21. Hi Willow, I've been to Frank's. Though a wonderful venue it seems more couple oriented. I feel a bit funny dancing by myself. I do love Big Daddies. Maybe what I need to do is start a group of sim jumpers and concert goers for people my age, who are sl single as well. --Nettie
  22. Hi Cinn- I'd say 40s and up. Though most of my SL friends are in their 20s-late 30s, it would be nice to socialize with people who grew up wearing bell bottoms and jean jackets. I know there are a lot of us here because you can tell when you go to venues like Big Daddies, and they say "I remember that song!" When I'm not writing, I go to concerts to find guests for my chats, so I am out there. --Nettie
  23. I've just spent the last four months rewriting my book in rl and during sl time. The rest of my free time has been working on sl for a magazine and preparing for my chat. I'd like to find other second life users that love to go to concerts or shopping. To find a few people that aren't afraid to make new friends. I'm middle age and would like to find friends my age and with similar interests. No drama, just people who hate dancing alone and can have an intelligent conversation. IM me. I often help newbies with landmarks. Don't be a stranger.---Nettie.
