  1. Hi! Im currently looking for a stable, reasonably priced 1/4 or half sim. My plan is to have my home there, but also my photo studio, and a small bar (it's not a 24/7 club, or anything obnoxious or flashy. Its a small upscale venue that also serves as a rental venue for things like graudations and after parties. I'm happy to show you if you'd like). I'm open to negotiate, but I'd like to be less than 11000 a week for a half sim, and 4999 or less for a 1/4. Again I'm open to negotiate and am flexible on these prices if I like the land and the sales agent (double for the sales agent. Ive had some terrible customer service lately, and in this sleconomy, I want to spend my money where I'll get good service, and not be treated like an annoyance because I'm interrupting something you're doing to look at land you have for sale). Thanks!
  2. Looking for a fun job with perks, that also pays a nice salary? I bet you are! I'm currently in the market for a sales rep, and since I'm expecting someone to work hard and actually help me out, I will pay good money for that help. I'm currently looking for someone to work on a semi regular schedule for me, actively promoting (this means more than sitting in an office, or sending out a sporadic notice to one group every few days) the studio, it's services, and helping to book clients. Please click here for full job listing info and link to the application. Please note: The full job description and application link are in the link above. Please read that before you apply, and please only IM me for help or to let me know that you applied. If you can't follow these simple directions then this job may not be for you.
  3. CreatiV Commons is a sim aimed at fostering community and art. Be it with fashion, writing, imagery, or performance. On our sim we have a theater, coffee shop, fully functional library, and a few other gems that you'll have to see. In our town square, we also have a few shops for rent, and all of our renters only sell unique and custom items - you don't have to worry about your store rotting away among a bunch of affiliate stores or vendors. Our stores are also just as unique as the items they come in. You wont find any prefabs here! Starting at 300L a week and variable prims, all shop renters also receive: A free advertisement listing in our sim guide that is given out both on and off the sim A free classified ad on the website of SL Business Review Magazine Promotion in the main business office (this is the main port of call for the sim), and other areas of the sim 2 Free flyers or advertisements from ICheng Digital Artistry Discounted fees on all rental venues and services on the sim (we're also an event planning company and our main buildings are rented for use at times) With a deal like this, you should already be beating a path to our door! Still not sure even with all the perks listed above? Ok. Try this one: From now until the end of the month (November 30th) all renters get their first week FREE. No gimmicks, no strings. You can move in RIGHT now, and stay for a free week. If you're happy after that, you can pay the rest weekly/monthly, and if not you're free to move with no obligations. Interested now! Come by and take a look, or send an IM to Sachiko Cheng or Bill Kaye http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yamashiro/209/65/24
  4. Thank you jeanneanne, you've been added to the bookshelf "Personal Essays" in our library. If anyone else wants to add their own story or opinion piece, please respond here or send me a private notecard inworld. 6. As some of you know, October is breast cancer awareness month. Whether we know someone directly or not, this disease affects everyone. In support of the continuing fight against this terrible disease, CreatiV Commons, inKLine Media, and ICheng Digital Artistry have started their "we support the pink ribbon" campaign. For the rest of the month, ` the photographers at ICDA are offering one FREE picture. The only requirement is that you must wear something pink, and preferrably give us a quote on what the fight against breast cancer means to you or how you've been affected by it. We have a RFL kiosk in the studio should you wish to make a donation, but it is not required to recieve your free photo. If you would like to get your picture, please contact Sachiko Cheng, Voice Restless, or Catriona Dagger. If you are a photographer who would like to donate your time and talent for this project please contact Sachiko Cheng. Please Note: This is open to both males and females.
  7. Absolutely! I actually have a server that is a furry and a bartender that is a furry/ brony. I'm more concerned with customer service skills and a great personality than what form you take in your SL. Apply away
  8. Hit me up inworld if you like.. it may be easier that way
  9. No need to apologize to me, but I think since you and Leia36 can't see eye to eye, maybe it's best to move on and politely ignore each other.
  10. I need to interject here.. before the thread got hijacked and off topic, what I meant by tell me your story, was share something about your SL that you think others should or could learn about (like if you're a vampire or something), or your RL cultural background... things like that. Basically human (or furry or vampire et ) interest stories. I'm sorry for anyone that's been misled in rl , SL or both, but that's not the topic of what I asked and if we can't get back on topic, if any moderators are reading can you close or lock this thread?
  11. Hmm. maybe there is a conflict of interest. We (CreatiV Commons), just opened and formed in the past few weeks. As for our goals.. My business partner and I each have our own businesses ( I do photo manipulations, and he runs a publishing house), and CC is both the name of our joint event/party planning company and the name of our sim. When we formed it, what we had in mind was to not only have a place where we could work, but also where other forms of artists and creators can come and work, relax and network. I'm sure its not all like that, but just being in sl for so long, there seems to be a lack of social community, so we thought we'd help by creating our own little piece to add to the grid. We also want to welcome newcomers too, which is part of why I'm doing the "tell me your story" thing. SL is a big place and there are so many different cultures and interests here, that I think both newcomers and old residents can use something new. Every story I collect will be available in our library, for anyone to read and learn from.
  12. Are you good at communicating with people and building up interest for products and services? We're looking for one or two good salespeople to work on our sim in the event and rental area. We have several venues and service staff for rent, as well as premium shops (premium as in only high quality original items sold.. not a space full of affiliate vendors), and unique affordable homes. This may become a salaried position as we pick up and finish building, but at the moment the compensation is commission, and free housing with bonuses for good performance. If you are interested and think you're a good fit, please contact Sachiko Cheng or Bill Kaye (via notecard as IMS cap), and come by the sim to have a look around. *ps, many of our buildings are in mesh, so you must have a mesh enabled viewer to see everything properly.* http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yamashiro/196/77/24
  13. Love wine? Love people? Vino is the place for you. We're a classy bar with the theme "Mad men meets after hours casual". We're looking for a few good people to join our staff as servers and bartenders. We serve both non alcholic and alcholic drinks (Including such specialties such as Absinthe, paga for our Gorean friends and Bloodwine for our Vampire guests). . Want to come in for an interview and see what we're all about? Come on in! We have in house events, as well as events that we host when rented out. Compensation for in house events is 90% tips, plus free housing after a trial period. Compensation for offisite events is an upfront base pay (based on how many hours you are booked for), plus a portion of your tips. For infomation, contact Sachiko Cheng, or Bill Kaye. http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yamashiro/196/77/24 *MUST have experience in SL basics, and some RP experience is preferred as this is an interactive position*
  14. Hi there! My name is Sachiko, and I'm half of the creative force behind CreatiV Commons. Part of our sim will feature a library with infomation about as much of SL and its residents as we can. From everything to SL basics, to the backgrounds of RP groups and factions, to a little bit about your RL culture and interests. Anything that you feel that the world of SL and in general can learn and that you want to share. You will receive full credit for your submission, and get the chance to tell the world about what you love. Please send all submissions in a notecard to Sachiko Cheng, or follow the SLURL to the town square and drop them into the big red mailbox. :D http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yamashiro/188/76/24
  15. CC is a nifty little sim that blends city charm with country pleasantness. It's the home of inKLine Media, and also has a theater for live performances and classic movies. There's also The Beanery coffee shop, Vino Bar wine bar, and a park. There's a little shopping center, but there are only original creations, not like other shops that are full of affiliate vendors. Come by and say hi! http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Yamashiro/188/76/24
  16. CreatiV Commons is currently looking for live performers (singers, actors, comedians, poets, etc) for our venue, as well as on staff to be hired for events. Are you new? Are you at the moment just trying to perform to get experience and get your name out? We have a dedicated group of guests that come to our events, and we always fill up when we have them. If you are a performer of any sort and looking for work, please consider us. Our goal is to nurture and support all forms of creativity, and there are two forms of payment: Tips only: When you work in house at one of our events, you keep 100% of the tips that you make. It's not uncommon to make over 500L in one shift here. Some of our servers have made more than 1000L in one shift, and historically performers and DJs have made the most money among "club" and bar staff. Base pay, plus tips: When someone hires CreatiV Commons to put on an event and books one of our in house performers, they pay a fee for what they book. If they book a performer, you get a portion of their fee, and you also keep a portion of the tips that you make. Interested? Contact Sachiko Cheng or Bill Kaye inworld. Please send a notecard of interest with a little bit of info about yourself in case our ims cap. Thanks!
  17. Are you an SL photographer/artist with a passion for perfection? Are you looking to work for an established studio, with access to studio models, and not have to worry about advertising for yourself, or paying to rent a studio? ICheng Digital Artistry may be the place for you! ICheng Digital Artistry was started as Cheng Photography. It has been my baby for the last 2 years, and due to growth and other ventures it has grown to the point where I am looking for others to help with work that comes in. Our primary work has been weddings, model services (photos, styling contests, portfolios, etc), but as my time is taken up with vendor work as well as the other businesses, I'm looking for a few talented artists to fill in the gaps. Work would include: Weddings Family/Pregnancy Styling/Contests Logos Flyers/Advertisements Profile Customer Service If you have experience in any of these, then I may be looking for you. I don't have any requirements on lenth of time working in SL, my only requirements are that you have a desire to learn and get better to perfect your style, have EXCELLENT customer service (and I mean excellent), and know how to take direction and critique when given. Compensation: 60% of all fees earned (this is standard offering, and also goes towards advertising and your usage of the studio, equipment, and models when you need them. To be considered: Please contact Sachiko Cheng via sachiko@ichengdesign.com, or inworld. Send your name, and samples of your work or a link to samples of your work. ** While I know that we all use different graphics programs, in my experience I haven't seen many high quality pics with GIMP ( I'm sure there are exceptions, so don't hate me), so preference will be given to those who use Photoshop, but please if you don't use PS, send me your work anyway!**
  18. CreatiV Commons has just finished their first set of residential homes on the sim. You can choose between furnished and unfiurnished, and these homes come with a little something extra: The homes themselves are located in the center of town surrounded by all of the beautiful features of the sim: the Chelsea Theater - oour theater for both Live stage plays and classic movies, the beach park, our upscale wine bar Vino, and is walking distance from the shops at town square (which only sell unique one of a kind items (you won't find another mall full of affiliate vendors here!). CreatiV Commons is the home base of inKLine Media, SLBR Magazine, ICheng Digital Artistry, and the CreatiV Commons event and party planning company. The purpose of this sim is to not only serve as the home for these businesses, but to bring back the original spirit of sl community. Whether you're a writer, builder, photographer, or poet. you will find this sim perfect for your needs. Here are the prices: unfurnished home: 400/week with 200 prims for yourself furnished home: 300/week with 100 prims for yourself we still have shops for rent as well (2 have already been taken), and these are limited to only 8. If you would like a tour of the sim, or to see some of the homes, businesses and amenities, please contact Sachiko Cheng, or Bill Kaye!
  19. If you're still looking for a nice short and curbvy proportional shape, search on the marketplace for meshapes. She makes awesome curvy shapes that are proportional, and still can fit into standard mesh sizing if you like mesh. Good luck!
  20. Sweet as! I sent you a friend request. When you get a chance I can help you out and help you sort through different programs and what not. Down to Color coordination if you need it
  21. I saw your flickr page and was BLOWN AWAY. I love your work. If you ever need help building a website I'd love to help. I really am thinking about raising my prices a bit, because while I do it mostly for fun, I want to feel like Its worth something and have it continue to be fun instead of a pain. lol. Based on what you're seen, what would you pay for a pic from me?
  22. I know I'm late to this topic but I've been mulling over this myself. Since I've started, I've charged L$200 per single photo, and L$300 per couple photo. I've had the same issue as you with some of my photos turning out as a masterpiece, and other ones after that I'd rather hide from the light of day (which is why only SOME of my work is featured on my site). I"ve largely found this to do more with the avatar than my skill (the better quality the avatar, the better the photos turn out to be). This has gotten me into some funks on occasion, because while a very quality avi will photograph beautifully and require minimal work, I don't mind charging that low a price. When I get an client that isn't the best looking and I have to do extensive work -even after before shoot checkups and prim sorting, styling, etc - (like a recent client whose face i had to rebuild and skin I had to repaint), I convince myself that I charge way too low. It doesn't help when the people who love their photos go "Thats all you charge??". I'm caught in the middle on this one. I can't charge different prices to different people, and I don't want to price myself out of work. On the other side of the fence, I've seen some photogs advertising prices as high as 700L, and when you see their work it looks like a cut/paste job onto a background and the photo is super blurry. THAT makes me angry, because while quality is totally subjectie, I think work and practices like that hurt the profession. While My studio and business isn't my sole (or even my biggest) source of SL income, I'm sure there are several people who may use it to make a living, and its unfair for hacks to harm thrie business with shoddy work. Sooo.. yeah. I'm glad I saw this topic though, lol. I now have more thinking to do.
  23. This is a very good question and something to consider for myself as well. As part of a publishing house in SL, we currently have our magazine in world and a blog site. We update the blog daily just because it's faster and one doesn't have to be within SL to grab the content, but we also have the "hard copy" that we release once a month for those who like to read in world. Texture loading can be a pain, but at least in the once a month range, you're more likely to have some patience
