what is fake away status

when I try to send IMs, I hear a short, harsh, scratching sound,and the IM doesn't send

When I try to send IMs, I hear a short scratching sound.. the IM doesn't go at all.

I have two avis... one will operate all menu animations fine, the second one did that for a while, now it can make a connection with the menu ie: sit ... bit it doesn't get the "animate avatar" notice. I'm using Singularity

How do I lower my avatar closer to the floor?
