  1. in my case someone did make a big stink of it. a blog was made last year with a list of second life avatars who had facebook accounts. even though i used my real photos and spoke to real friends on it as well, i was labled as "fake" the blog contained instructions on how to report the accounts to facebook and have them banned. i switched my name to my rl name and dumped my sl friends off the account in order to preserve contact with friends and family that i spoke to via facebook.
  2. yeah don't let people know you use an avatar facebook. there's a blog (or was) listing avatar names and links to their facebook profiles, with instructions on how to have them banned from facebook. in my case i was using my sl name in place of my real name for privacy reasons but i had rl friends as well as sl friends on there. to keep from losing my account i had to switch to my real name and dump my sl friends. this is why AU was useful though so many people dogged it.
  3. i totally agree with your comment. i used AU for more than just SL and i'm really disappointed that it was just dropped like this. i can't have an sl facebook because facebook has a policy against "fake people" so AU was my replacement for that. sure it was annoying when people would add you without even bothering to speak to you but it was a place where you could connect with others. thankfully there are other sl profile sites, which i shall not name here for fear that LL purchases and closes them down as well, but it sucks for the gamers who were in more than just SL.
  4. there are viewers that get around banlines and being banned from a sim, i'm not talking about the good ones that follow the rules but the ones that we can't see to get rid of on the grid. of course i am all for teens being here if they follow the rules. i just hope LL will be making sure that those rules are not easily jumped over.
  5. to me this would mean that all teens would have to only use the LL viewer... because i'm sure some 3rd party viewers would allow this limit to be ignored.
  6. their cameras will still reach outside of the pg sims and while i get what you're saying i also get what shockwave is saying. there's no way to block their cameras from seeing into the mature sim that borders the pg sim. they were not expressing concern about visitors but camera panners. unless SL will be moving the mainland around this is still a problem.
