What I see most time in groups people arguing about something outside group topic, a product group or a community group etc.

Usually no one will interfere because people who make those groups did not expect to baby sit entire group.

This is why we need special group option for avoid out of topic arguments "Allow only owner and moderators write and read group chat."

When a member writes something owner and moderator can see it help with it.. but others can't see it. Posts made by owner and moderators visible to everyone. This model more suitable for content creators who does not want to deal with "outside of topic" discussions IMO.

And would not work for any kind of support group such as Firestorm's several different language support groups. When the mods/CSRs can't be on then others can help. It is rare that any group will always have 24/7 coverage. There just are not enough people willing to do the dirty job.

How do transient visitors differ from transient users? I've been here for 13 years, but probably spend less time in-world in a month than most newcomers. Though I'd never make the argument, you know someone will say "I hardly ever use the thing, why should I pay full price?" Do you think that new users, faced with a debt burden should they decide to stay, might be more inclined to leave? Might they just rejoin under a different ID to shed the debt?

Let's say I purchase this $10K home for $1K and decide not to pay the credit. LL won't have anything on their books stating that $9K is owed. There is no concept of debt in the L$ ecosystem. Does Wili file an abuse report with LL to recover the $9K? That'll be a resident-to-resident dispute over US$36. They won't get involved and without that, Wili has zero leverage other than block/ban. What do I care? I've got the house. If Wili does file abuse reports, I imagine LL quickly concluding "he asked for it".

I think you are giving LL a little too much credibility in that last paragraph.

I do have my suspicions that some accounts are being suspended days and weeks after the "event", leaving the person completely baffled as to what they did wrong because the only explanation given is a link to the guidelines. ALL of the guidelines, not the one (or ones) that were supposedly broken. ALL of them, which is completely useless in determining what was done wrong and fixing it. People can't improve things if they don't know what went wrong.

That's why we have all that stuff in it's own room out in the garages of all our buildings.. plus we installed an instant water heating system for our house ,so we don't have a big tank, but a tiny boiler that heats it up really quick.. it's a really nice system..

What kind of pipes did you have in the house, was it galvanized? We made sure we had copper when it was built..

It's not a house. It's a mobile home. The new lines are PEX because copper is too expensive and doesn't travel well if we ever move this thing.

    @Selene Gregoire

Exactly what is so funny about what I just expressed?

I found it amusing since we had to not only replace our hot water heater, we had to completely redo ALL of the plumbing just 4 or 5 months ago. We still have to replace the flooring and subflooring from all the water damage, if we can ever afford to do so. If all you have to do is replace the heater, you're getting off easy.

I wasn't criticizing Doc at all, Selene. It's Adam who leaves me unimpressed.

In fact, Doc and I are, together, a good example of people who can frequently disagree, as we have on a number of occasions on the Creation forum, and still get along pretty well. I don't think Doc would put me on ignore because we've butted heads sometimes, and I certainly wouldn't do that to him.

Ignoring people with whom you disagree because you are too intellectually lazy to acknowledge and wrestle with different perspectives and views isn't Doc's way, nor mine. That would be Adam.

I don't read that section unless I have hit a brick wall I can't get past. Thanks for clearing that up though because it sounded like you were saying you weren't impressed with either of them to me.

Doc has the unfortunate "privilege" of being about the only German I get along with so I tend to be a little protective of him when I see what looks like a communication issue since English is not his native language and he is, in some ways, still learning.

Too kind, Selene. How are you doing? I hope you are ok. Well, sometimes I miss the group. But I heard it isn't the same anymore.

I'm ok. Hope you are well. I miss it sometimes too but I left it because it just wasn't the same any more. It all changed when Fuzen disappeared on Sri.

I'm in world fairly frequently these days so if you want to toss a friendship offer my way, feel free to do so. ^_^

Love it. Funnily enough I own the same house all decked out in christmas stuff. One question, what did you use the little room attached to the bedroom for? I am still deciding on it.

    Walk in closet. :D

Once I'm awake I may log in, take a pic of what I've done so far and post it here. I used these and they do fit nicely if a bit snugly in that room: https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/BAZARGlam-Closet-FEMALE-Full-Pack/8718031

Today I am peeved at peevishness.

Today, I received (another!) anonymous gift in-world. It made me very happy -- not because I was given a pair of shoes I might easily have bought myself, but because someone was thoughtful and kind enough to think of me Someone wanted to give, for no reason other than that this is a lovely thing to do. It was the expression of generosity that mattered, and it made me feel a little better about people -- as unpopular a view as that seems to be on this thread. (Thank you @nationalelfservice!)

Today I also had a brief but lovely chat with an old forum friend who has been absent for a while -- about Christmas trees. And over the last few days I've been having another extended conversation in DM with a forumite whom I like about music, and musical instruments in SL. On Sunday, I spend a wonderful and carefree evening dancing with another friend to really cool jazz tunes from the 40s at one of my favourite clubs.

I refuse to be peeved, or unhappy, or angry, or argumentative today. Today, I am going to be happy.

I hope you all can be too.

Just a few tweaks and I should be getting some pics done today. Tomorrow at the latest. Since it isn't a Belli home I'm not sure where I should post them. I might just start a thread for it in GD but someone will probably get offended and report it so it either gets deleted or moved to a section I don't post in and have no desire to post in. Matter of fact, I have no desire to be a regular here anymore because of the personal vendetta against me over a deliberately misinterpreted post made about 10 years ago. And since LL continues to allow this person to get away with it year after year, there's no point in my being here except to be banned from the forum and SL as long as that person is allowed to continue. Of course the person will deny it and attempt to put the blame on me but we've all seen what that person does.

Anyway, it was great talking with you yesterday. And Maddy , too! I'm just sorry the convo got interrupted long enough I couldn't get back to my keyboard for 2 hours because it was time to start dinner. Men! They spoil everything! :x

    And welcome back, also, Selene!

Thanks but I'm not really back. I just put the avatar image back (Mercy Thompson) because I saw Anne say she missed seeing it and gave her a copy of the image.

I do pop in from time to time to play catch up but as far as posting, I've pretty much lost interest in trying to dodge around all the political crap on the forum that I get more than enough of in real life. I've been sick of, and fed up with, the political mudslinging between candidates and/or individuals for decades.  Mudslinging is a surefire way of losing my vote. I have been known to write in characters like Snoopy and Woodstock, Mr Gaspipe, etc.
