  1. There were a few when Venus was first released (it was a big thing at the time) - though with the variety and number of outfits I have now I couldn't hope to figure which they are. As for the fashion events and things, I've decided not to bother other than window shopping. My purview is that the fewer choices for Venus at these events prevent me from impulse-buying and actually waiting a lot of money. It has trained me to scrutinize everything I buy: no demo=no sale ever. And if I see something that looks nice but not in a Venus format - it's pretty easy to find similar-looking stuff for Venus because, amazingly, most "new" stuff being released all the time isn't really that original 75% of the time. LOL One good thing coming will be Bakes on mesh - when that happens then practically the entire Market Place will explode with availability again. because as much as I hate clothing appliers, there are lots of those that look damned good. So being able to just wear system clothing parts that are neatly and cleanly accompanied by mesh parts, I believe, we will be seeing some awesome things coming because the tools for creators will be exponentially expanded.
  2. I was thinking last night (my mind is always percolating LOL) that I believe you are misremembering in this way (I also could be misremembering about this, too): I think you are remembering Venus as the "middle" one because it was released second. If I recall, they were released in this order: Isis, Venus, Freya - And so it would make sense that people think of Venus as "the middle" one! To that end, I think we were both on the same page, but a different paragraph. LOL Edit to add: and I only NOW just noticed that the Freya boobies are so large that the pasties I was wearing don't even show. Bahahaha The biggest differences between Venus and Isis is on the profile, the Isis has more belly and boob than Venus. As to what @momomoonusagi says she's looking for, I think either Venus or Isis will get just that "plumpy-but-not-overweight" look. I go for that with a rounder face and the Width slider on Body tab and a little more in the leg and torso muscle - still "toned" but not some super-model, either. For a "softer" look than what I have now I would likely try Isis for that. (The comparison images are with my everyday shape - so the venus image is my everyday look but those are with default skins.)
  3. @Fritigern Gothly I've decided to post my own comparison to show you and others that Venus is the smallest or most "petite" of the three. I believe you are misremembering or otherwise mistaken. Click the image to see it at Flickr in hi-rez.
  4. I have all three - I may have Freya and Isis reversed (as I don't use them) - but I can guarantee you Venus is the waif/athletic/slim om one. You only show Isis and Freya, not venus. I am correct in this. I could create the same side-by-side comparisons, but it's a moot point. The real point is that it doesn't matter; people will wear the one they want to wear. As for the OP: she should get the demos and try for herself. And if you have all three, why is your picture using demos? Just asking.
  5. [Removed} because it came off more condescending than informational and I hate when that happens.
  6. Yeah, definitely give Venus a go. And remember that Body Width also will help fine-tune that look.
  7. Actually, Venus is the "waif/athletic/fit" one, Freya is the middle one, and Isis is the heavy-set one. I would actually use Freya except the legs are too heavy for what I want to achieve, the Venus "leg muscle" slider for me is about 60-70% so it works well (for me) and I cannot make the breasts small enough for my Asian look. They are ALL beautiful in my mind. And the choice of shapes is wonderful - I do run into an Isis once in a while, though I believe in the beginning Venus was the most popular, but now it is in second place behind Freya - which is the middle-ground where you can still do "slimmer-and-sexy" in a realistic way and also do the plus-size very well. Isis is more for the plus+plus size look. What I like about all of them is how you can still maintain a "figure" of a shape; still having the very feminine look. And I should be clear when I say Maitrreya "feels cheap" - I don't mean the mesh body, it's really good for that kind of shape (personally, I find the legs too skinny for my own desired look), but rather I'm referring to the HUD itself that feel "clunky" in comparison to Tonic and Belleza, those "feel" smoother, more "refined" - if that can make any sense - and, as always, I'm only speaking with regard to my own personal experience, as everyone has their own perspective on things. In short, I believe they are all *great* bodies and the wonderful thing about it all is the choice we have. Because of this variety, it is easily "to each, their own" and that's the best of all worlds. @momomoonusagi "I'm going for a "natural "plus-size" " look. Something a little fuller or a little chubby, but not..."big" (? I can't think of a good description xD). Maybe even a bit curvy, but not with maxed out boobs and butt. " I know just what you mean! With Venus, you can do that... Try both demos, start with Venus - try getting to the look you want. If it doesn't quite go (at maximum sliders) then try the Freya with minimums and go from there. It's actually a great segue between the two, albeit there is a distinctive shape different (I think) in the breasts - Freya is much better if you want heavier breasts (I really am Asian in RL and, well... Freya is the exception to that rule as far as breast sizes go LOL) The main thing is that you can get the main shape you;re going for and have enough wiggle room to tweak over time.
  8. There were a couple versions, one was a server-side rendering and THAT one was horrific - imagine the exact same viewer UI on a 3.5" smartphone screen (was before the gigantic phones LOL) - the other one was okay, but again: the UI was too small and it rezzed things more slowly (and seems to be a little more "pixelated"). For a time (maybe three years ago) I purchased an AWESOME iOS app (I forget what's called right now, it only *just* stopped working) - that does *everything* you could possibly want to do in SL except 1) rez stuff and 2) See anything. As long as it didn't require manipulating anything rezzed - you could do it. Sit on things, stand-up, TP anywhere, Chat, IM, Pay others, Create, edit, save notecards, Play with ("Organize" your inventory, literally anything - other than interacting with rezzed stuff or seeing anything. It's too bad the devs haven't continued with it because I have not seen anything even come close to what it did. Was the best $5 I ever spend toward my SL (though not necessary now as I don't run sims anymore). Best thing to get what you (and others) want is to raise some money, hire a Developer to develop both: Android and iOS version that does everything other than actually render the world (many Devs for hire companies that will do this). Then sell it on both app store.
  9. I have Maitreya, Tonic, Eve, Slink, even a few others. The second I ever purchased was the Belleza (back when it was all or none - so I have all three bodies). No matter what I do, what I try, every look I can create (and all of them wonderful) I am ALWAYS coming back to my Venus. The Belleza bodies are, more or less set-up so that with Venus you can go from waif to relatively curvy. Then Freya to more or less go from Venus "max" curvy and add more "jelly". Then generally picking up from around the Freya maximum you get into Isis proportions and let's not B.S. around the bush: that's beyond "curvy". Nothing wrong with it and I am sure there are people who prefer that look. As always: grab DEMOS. Use your *existing* shape and head and *take the time* to make an attempt to adjust your shape to get the body the way you would want it to be had you already purchased it. Make that kind of effort with the demo for two reasons: 1) You see the genuine capabilities of the body and 2) Should you purchase it, your shape is already created for it, save a few tweaks here and there. Do not allow others to proclaim nonsense like "Creators are DROPPING VENUS" - so what? The quality creators (Blueberry, Addams, etc.) are not and the truth is with "fewer choices" I find much higher quality a lot more often. There is *plenty* of outfits and add-ons as always before. So the availability of "shopping add-ons" is hardly an argument for or against any particular "base" brand. I'd be happy to show you what all three of those look like on my own shape, though you really need to demo for yourself. As for the reason I always come back to Venus? TO ME: Maitreya chicken-legs don't do it - too European-looking, Tonic butt-shaping isn't working well for me - it takes on a screwy look from 3/4 angle and I am too aynahl about it. Eve's thigh-to-buttocks transition isn't right for me (and we always watch our butts, right?) and Slink breast profile (and Maitreya) don't feel right to me. Also, Maitreya is a great body, but when I wear it if feels cheap, probably because I feel like "just another Maitreya; one penguin in a throng of thousands." LOL But also, the Maitreya HUID just feels clunky to me when compared to Tonic and Belleza. Like the difference between a Hyundai car and a Lexus (yes, really). BUT, that's MY issue and I admit that. I'm pretty sure the Belleza Venus has the best *knees* of every body I've seen. All the rest look like one wrong step and they'll snap like twigs or something. Bahahaha (But seriously: the knees, wrist, breast, and butt are why I keep going back to my venus. OH, and all physics work on Belleza: Boobs, Belly, AND Butt.)
  10. These statements really crack me up. Uh... they DID have it five years ago. I was one of the beta testers. It flopped big-time. Oh, and it was also going to be a paid-for service by subscription. are you willing to pay RL money for such? (Generally-speaking to all, not directed to @Qie Niangao : The funny thing for so many of you is that your genius idea that Linden Lab already thought of since before you ever heard of Second Life and tried to implement turned out to be EPICFAIL or it would already be here. Those of us here since before the 2010's can easily tell you as we watched those train-wrecks happen as it happened. LOL
  11. People are only going to recommend what they have and like. So here is my recommendation: Every mesh body worth anything whatsoever has a demo. Get every demo and try it. Now here's the hard part: do NOT judge the body on how it looks when first worn. You have to DO IT RITE: If you're already set on the head - make a copy of the head and put it into each demo body folder and wear it with that demo. Make a copy of your shape file and put it into each demo body folder wear it with that demo. If you already have a chose skin, prepare to (attempt) to apply it to each demo body when you wear it. As you wear each body - use *YOUR* shape, not the one that came with it. TAKE THE TIME to adjust that shape to get the look as close as you can to what you want - SAVE the shape. Now apply any skins, etc. Do NOT bother with the HUDS during this initial process. Focus on shaping first. This way you will have the same face for each demo, allowing you to focus on the attributes and capabilities of the body. You will shortly whittle down those demos into a "short list" (try to get it down to no more than two or three). Now play with the HUDS. When you have each demo configured closely enough to what you like then TAKE PICTURES: three for each: Front, Side, and 3/4 view. Post the pictures to a privatized sharing site (JumpShare.com is a good one - create a free account if necessary). Now open each picture side-by-side in different browser tabs then flip between them to help you decide which you like best. Lots of work, maybe. But in the long run, you will be the happiest with the least "buyer's remorse" or doubts than any other way (and save the most money). Edit to add: Do not let the "availability" of outfits and accessories be a part of your decision. Maitreya, All three Bellezas, Tonic, even EVE and most others have a ton of outfits and add-ons to make you broke. So don't be concerned with that at all. You'll just have to learn how to find the right stuff, that's all. For example, I use Belleza Venus myself and many creators who used to support all three Belleza have dropped Venus (for whatever silly reason) - it's better for me because though there are fewer choices the chances of finding the really high-quality stuff is a lot easier, too. Just saying.
  12. Sure, sure! BUT... first let me set this up: There are several "creators" who are ripping a lot of comics characters from other games. [Edit to clarify: I believe this creator is actually modeling these himself - OR he is the original creator and the others are copybotting him] One in particular (I'll not name them, but say they sell theirs at L$300-L$500) puts out JUNK. Only like 1 in 10 are any decent. Anyway - this one is from YOSHI - and after seeing the amazing quality of this I bought a few more from him (The Wasp, Catwoman '90s, etc) and ALL of them are AMAZING. (I'm gonna post pictures of those later) And guess what? I the hands were separate and I wanted to link them so I can also make her an Animesh - but the permissions, on one hand, was off. I IM'd Yoshi this morning. He just sent me a new box that not only fixes that hand but now includes a single-piece avie that works perfectly for Animesh AND it's still bento! Here's the link to *this* avie, though you must look at the whole store. But be *warned* You're gonna want to buy a BUNCH. Oh, and this one is also fitted: so Physics, Fingers, Entire body and head are fitted (though facial animations don't work on it, but so what? LOL) https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Avatar-mesh-Worden-Woman-Bombshell-BentoFitted-mesh/16254506
  13. Bahahaha! From aubreTEC (I dunno if you remember them - they aren't around anymore) - it was L$100: And the first paragraph of the Info notecard says this: "Overview: "The tagTEC is a simple HUD that allows you to aim and fire text labels that follow around above your victim's heads. Put a warning label on your favorite assclown so that people will know what they are like before they make the mistake of talking to them." Bahahahaha!!!
  14. YES, this is an *official* version of Wonder Woman! From DC "Bombshells United" series LOL https://geektyrant.com/news/dc-comics-bombshelles-united-will-tells-stories-that-involve-the-fallout-of-wwii So, of course, I *HAD* to have it! And for an exciting region to visit, search World Map for TIME PORTAL - Awesome period-settings for fun pix!!!
  15. I just found another: My Titler Gun. An invisible HUD I wear, then in Mouselook I aim at anyone and click. Then it asks me to type in a title and choose a color. Then it would "shoot" that title onto that person. It even works in no-rez places and it's sticky: there is no way to remove the title unless you TP to another sim or relog into another sim. A simple relog into the same sim and the title returns. I just tested it - it still works. Yes, it can be abused in the wrong hands, though I always tried to use it sparingly and responsibly, like calling out annoying people like those self-important ignorants who play genuinely irritating sounds from their avatars or click the sound-gesture buttons far too frequently and things like that. I should start using it again
  16. "Drawn Town" by Cica Ghost (Editor's Picks) This is with "Default" Windlight settings: This is with the region Windlight settings: The cart in the background is drivable, too.
  17. I haven't logged in yet, now I'm thinking not to Hahaha. Maybe I'll try with an alt that I don't care about so much with. Thanks for THAT heads-up!
  18. It's not a viewer issue. It's a bandwidth issue. Each region (square) on the map is a separate image that is downloaded from the web. When you zoom out, more regions are visible=more images to download. If you zoom out so far that you see the entire world then you are downloaded literally thousands of images. So 30 minutes to see the entire world? Makes sense. This is a very simplified, general description of what's happening (not an officially technical explanation). The point being that it's not a viewer issue and it's not an issue that only you are experiencing, everyone experiences this. We've just gotten used to it and gone complacent, I suppose.
  19. I am noticing all those reporting this problem are relatively new to the forum... newer accounts? Perhaps it was the result of this "unscheduled maintenance" that actually caused the issue for these people?
