How do I get my Avatar to have my same face as a photo I have of a real person?
Lyra Blackthorne replied to Cora25's question in Avatar
There is a skin maker that does photoreal but cannot remember the name so you would need to search around. However, the photoreal ends up looking pretty scary imo. Another solution would be to make a avie that resembles the look you want vs trying to clone the RL picture. You would do that by first making a rough draft of a shape that gives you the right framework ie height, body shape, shape of nose, size shape of eye etc. Once you have the draft shape go to all the skin makers and look for skins that resemble the look you want. Do NOT buy a skin yet, just grab up demos. Then go to hair shops and grab up demos of hair you think would work. Eyes you cannot demo so you will need to look carefully at the eye colors for one that matches and buy those. Go home wear the eyes and try the hair and skins on with the draft shape you made. Once you find the correct skin and hair, try tweaking the shape to get the resemblance closer. When you are satisfied with the look then you go buy the skin. Good luck to you! -
Your message here may fall on sympathetic resident eyes but none from LL will see it. This is a resident only forum, full of folks just like you. We are full of advice and opinions, but have no more power or authority than you do.. If you want to talk to Lindens you need to call them, write them or file a ticket.

Everyone has given you great advice on how to manage your current problem. For future transactions: Use the Marketplace as a search tool and then buy from the inworld shop. Or if you must buy online, buy each item separately. Single purchases are sometimes slow to deliver but rarely seem to fail completely. The shopping cart is often unstable and should be avoided

Try shopping at Bryce (only hair for men, Shag, Uncle Webb (UW) or Dura. All have good men's hair and it is immediately visable on landing.

Hi Miss, lots of postings on how to fiit the lashes...but they are tricky to get perfect! You might want to take some building classes, there are free ones in Search/Events/Education. It doesnt make any difference what you learn to build, the skills will all directly transfer to learning how to edit your clothes, hair, jewelry and even your eyelashes! Almost nothing fits right out of the box as all our avies come in so many shapes and sizes; just about everything wearable with a prim needs to be repositioned a bit or altered. Learning good editing skills will help you in so many ways. An alternative to the prim lashes are tattoo layer lashes which will not require fitting. Amacci has some that are nice

If the shoe is mod and will allow it, you could also make the shoe a light itself. Click edit on the shoe and go to the features tab where there is a check box for "light" then you can adjust the brightness and radius

On the exchange, use the second method...where you set the rate of exchange. Lately have been selling around 249L per usd

Actually I have seen it. I check in once in awhile with a mesh viewer just to make sure I am not missing anything. But, so far at least for wearable items I have seen nothing exciting enough to be worth using the mesh viewer..the viewer is beyond clunky and the mesh I have actually tried on has fit issues.

What is the reason , that my friend´s avatar was banned from SL?
Lyra Blackthorne replied to Mona Mendes's question in Account
An account can be put on hold or banned permanently for violating LL's TOS, an earlier post provided links to possible issues -
The Marketplace has TAKEN my money again WHY?
Lyra Blackthorne replied to twistedcarmel's question in Shopping
Hi twisted, the Marketplace is just often buggy. My post won't help with your current situation but others have noted how to resolve. But, for future shopping: there are more delivery failures if you use the shopping cart than if you buy items as single purchases. Personally, I just use the marketplace to browse and then tp to the inworld shop for the purchase; I want it "now" vs waiting up to 8 hours. -
Did You See the Linden's New Game Within the Game?
Lyra Blackthorne replied to Prokofy Neva's topic in Mainland
I for one don't use the mesh viewer. I find the Viewer 3's incredibly clunky, Firestorms is the best but even with that the chat/im/notices make me crazy and seems like everything I do needs one or two clicks more to achieve than in my older Phoenix viewer. Also, with less than 50% of the population using a mesh viewer, wearing mesh leaves you a naked avie with a few orbs hanging off your bod...not really how I wish to appear in the world Also, I disagree on mesh clothing being an improvement. Most of what I have tried on in mesh, and see on others when I do take out the mesh viewer, fits poorly. Have seen nothing that is better than what I already have with high-quality prim/sculpt clothing. I look forward to a good mesh enabled viewer and to some good mesh products in the future...but it isn't in my near future. -

new and have a question about my avatar
Lyra Blackthorne replied to Kempaggio's topic in Your Avatar
Start with making a rough draft of your real life shape...ie bone structure, height, proportions, shape of nose etc. YOu do this is editing appearance mode and other have posted about this. Once you have the draft shape, go to all the skin shops and look for those that sort of looks like you. Do not buy, just grab up demos. Go to hair stores and do same thing. Check out shops for eyes your RL color...these you cannot demo so make sure you like the color. Go home wear the eyes and try on the demo hair and skin demos. When you find a hair and a skin that best resembles the RL you, start tweaking and refining your shape to work better with the skin. When you achieve a look you are happy with then go back and buy the hair and the skin. -
Go take some building classes, lot of them. if you can You will find them in Search/Events/Education. It doesn't matter what the class is learning to build; the same skills used to build a house or a flower are used to edit your clothing, hair, lashes etc. Then COPY clothing items that don't fit and practice editing them to fit your avie. If you mess up delete and try again...almost nothing with a prim will fit everyone; we come in so many shapes. For future shopping do not buy anything that is not modifiable, or at least comes with a resize script...though, resize really won't make wearables fit "perfectly" as they just make things overall bigger or smaller. It depends on how picky you are, I am **bleep** ,so I do not buy anything not fully mod. Learning good building skills will be so helpful to you in many areas of SL living, from your appearance to even arranging your household. Who knows at some point you might even want to make something! Good luck : )

You might also want to just look at some of the sci fi and fantasy wear already created. I think you might find things very very similar already exist

How can I find missing intan lost in sim restart?
Lyra Blackthorne replied to Mary Teodosio's question in Inventory
it should have gone into the inventory of the person who purchased it. try clearing cache and looking again.
