  1. Blender really is a great program, a tad akward, but a lot of capabilities, and free. And it would be nice to have something with a little more detail then 64x64 or 128x128.

I have used blender for a while to make sculpts and always found it a little annoying how limiting it was as far as the detail in the shape goes, so it will probably be like a very high detailed prim, though I am concerned about customers retexturing as I know a lot of people like to customize. What I don't know how to do yet is the ave mesh itself, but I am sure I can learn. Just hope they don't limit this to premium accounts only, everyone should take a stab at it. Of course, LL still has to get it working, and people have to be on a type of 2.0+ viewer to see it I think, so.....it could be a while. I wonder if you will be able to stretch the ave mesh out, that would eliminate the need for those buggy deform animations that I see so many using.
  3. One major issue is modding aves, a lot people love modding things, but I guess we'll see. There will still be things a mesh cannot do, but I am sure it will allow some new things that could not be done before. There are a lot of aves that don't even have a human shape at all, so you would still need them to do that, I'm thinking more for body shapes you could not get with the standard body editing. Time will tell.
