Totally agree with your points. SL used to be a second life for everyone, I remember to see lots of inworld shops not only with top end creators but also with less "talented" creators, everyone arrived to SL and even with some simple linked prims could acomplish a sense of achievement, nowadays SL is sold almost as a RL mirror, everything must be super duper designed and detailed - even yesterday my boyfriend was laughing because my avatar was looking almost the same as my RL me - back in 2011 when I first left SL I was complaining that most people didn't interact, even for shopping they went only for MP and I simply thought "ok, maybe is just my problem", but no, after these years I returned, went premium and land is still being abandoned, nice built malls are gone, to be creator with need to hold more and more technical knowledge, MP is taking more and more from the inworld commerce (I wonder if LL will have any drop on tiers due to the lack of need to have have a inworld shop) and I guess that tomorrow we'll have new avatars that simply don't know what is to reez a prim

SL: "reborn" after some years of abcense; without leaving the classic avatar on any of my (huge number) alts try to transform one in a fat and ugly nasty drag queen; imagine or find something I can do to return to business micromanagement without having knowledge of 3D creation; meet new people and socialize a little bit more RL: in february I'll ask my boyfriend to marry me; live together with him (finally lol); and maybe buy a second home (just wish I had the same prices than in SL lol)

After almost 7 years away from SL I find the same problem. I have lots of fashion related blogs still alive but my folder with blogs related to news, opinion, even virtual law blog is almost all dead.

Between 2007 and 2010/11 I had some business that covered my skybox and 3 shop' rents and even manage to cashout a small amount each month (+-30usd), then I was away for some years and now I return and with mesh, animesh, slink, bentos etc I don't have enough 3D skils to have decent apparel to sell so I decided to go premium and live with the stipend (only bought some extra lindens to buy a mainland parcel)... So I'm really on a budget but for now is more than enough since now i'm always by myself with no company lol

I think I can see myself on my parcel at east coast Just passing by so I can have any update on this cool project

I know that nowadays everyone wants mesh bodies in order to get the perfect and natural look, however in all my avatars I only have a mesh body in one of then, all other (me included, and we are all from 2007 and 2008) have the classic shape & skin. Said that, I want to transform one that I don't use in a drag queen. Although I know what hair and makeup I will use I'm a little bit confused about what type of body to use. My first thought was to make something a little bit more funny and maybe use a female shape without brests - ok, I know that a drag queen don't perform without brests but in SL sometimes things are not what they look (I'm a RL gay male and on SL I have both male and female avatars, two of them are even a straight couple lol) Anyway, if you wanted to create a drag queen what physical look you would give her? Just remind that I don't want the perfect goddess body

Yes, that's my idea. In fact the land parcel have already a treehouse, beach, boat and pier, trees, grass and some furniture and my next step it to place a small skybox (I have one with 10LI) with some furniture... On my group I'm the only premium (all other are my alts) and I bought 1024sqm that I passed to my group, however I still have the same 351 prims and now I'm a little bit confused if I have to buy&deed 102sqm more or not

So what you are saying is that if on the same SIM I found 102sqm I could buy it without increasing my monthly fees and only that I could increase the prims on that parcel? Or the purchase must be done by other avatar ?

It's 1024sqm and the objects remain the same 351 after I transferred the parcel to my group

So last friday I bought my first mainland parcel but yesterday I noticed that on map that parcel still have the sign for sale although on the about land is already "not for sale" and deeded already to my group... Is there a way to remove the sale sign from the map? (btw, the 10% increase on prims on land deeded to group is no longuer working?) Many thanks

sorry to get back, I got audacity and a free file, saw also an old vídeo from Torley Linden, followed all steps but it continues to give me error when uploading stating that it needs to have 44.1hz UPDATE: just used an online converter and it worked

this is awesome. i should thought about it… it looks like I arrived yesterday to SL instead of 2007 :) I was away from SL for some years and I just decided to return as soon as I knew about the increase of "free" land to premium. Again, many thanks to you both :)

Hi all, My idea was that the only sound on my parcel was some forest or bird sounds, I know we can place a link to a stream on our parcel however I can only find radio streams in the internet. How do you manage this? Thanks for your help

I know that's been ages since I don't participate on forums but my company has decided to block our acess to SL's site, anyway, I'm trying to find a script that give me this effect to my RP avatar: Imagine a list of avatars: "Major Name Surname1", "key1"; "Colonel Name Surname2", "key2"... and so on I need a script that read that list and give me only the ones that are online, is that possible? Linden Lab put an hold on fees as already stated on Colossus Linden post on May 6th UPDATE (May 6th, 2010): None of the plans in the following roadmap have been implemented. They have been put on hold in favor of other features and functionality that merchants have requested. We do not yet have a date for when we expect to implement these changes. We will message the community and all merchants directly with fair warning before implementing anything in the following roadmap. Until and unless you hear from us that we are implementing some or all of the following changes, they do not apply. Based on merchant feedback on the importance of demo items, we have implemented a better way to link demo items and products in the new marketplace due to launch in the Summer of 2010. Each product will have the ability to link to a demo item and each demo item will have the ability to link to the non-demo, complete version of the product. So for now we can still have items on XStreet (future SL Marketplace) without mandatory listing fees
