  1. a bit more information would be helpful :-) for instance: what error message do you get when logging in? can you post it here?
  2. I will move to china for a year soon. The problem is that I will most liekly be able to use a shared network. I already considered getting a VPN but that will be suless once the network is overused by other clients. So i had the idea of getting a broadband internet stick from some local provider as I will have no personal telephone access where I am going to live. Is SL compatible with any sort of wirelsss internet card? thanks in advance p.s. I am not going to have a modem as said telephone access is non existent lol! I heard that some viewers do not accept those internet cards you stick in your usb
  3. I will move to china soon and probably live there for a whole year. Like everyone else iI am aware of sl blocking particular sites such as facebook or google. I checked this on greatfirewall.biz (http://www.greatfirewall.biz/www.secondlife.com) and it says you can access secondlife.com in china...but i am not sure if that enables me to use the viewer too. can you help me and if necessary provide solutions. Kind regards and thanks in advance!!!
  4. does it tell you it is locked or anything and that you are not authorized...otherwise I just suppose the server/SIM performance which causes the script to not work properly...just click "edit" on the door prim and it will move.
  5. I am glad to announce that I have found a solution to this problem myself with sirprising results. You were all right. One has to find a way to switch from integrated graphics card to discrete graphic card (in this case the nvidia GT 555M). for all who have a DELL XPS 17...right click on your desktop...select Nvidia control panel...and go to 3d settings. there you will find a window that allows you to choose between three different options: auto, nvidia and integrated card...selecct the second option and here yoou go. the graphics card is that good that you can even use shadows...it looks dazzling...i wa sreally impressed...and its not even laggy if you use shadows...i did not expect that given that it was horribly laggy before when the system was using the integrated graphic card.. hope that explanation will help you. and dont return the notebook...its stunning and the graphics card is great for sl.
  6. Hey guys! I am experiencing exactöy the same problem with the same computer (same model even). Has anyone found a solution to this problem? since there have been no answers i assume that either returned the product (which would be a shame because its a pretty notebook) or you resolved it yourself. I would be curious to know how. wehn checking my sytem info through sl the viewer indentifies a different grahics card than i should actually have. this must be my onboard graphic card. but how do i switch to my discrete graphic card? all this is really bizarre....maybe some linden guy could help us here? waiting anxiously for your replies and suggestions
