  1. I have an iMac running OS X version 10.6.8 and had the same issue. I downloaded Second Life version 3.6.6.280963 and it locked up so I couldn't login. I finally trashed all my chat logs, preferences, the whole folder as a matter of fact. Then reinstalled from the DMG. As soon as I openerd it, it installed an "update" back to Second Life version 3.6.4.280048. Linden Labs has some explaining to do! I also hate losing my preferences as I'm on a limited bandwidth connection and all my pref's get set to medium with voice and video. All the things that cause lag and suck bandwidth. Sometimes I hate the Linden Labs viewer as much the other people I chat with!
  2. Viewer 3.4.5 is the viewer with chat issues. I like the chat to show and fade away but able to be brought back to read again. Now it opens a box mixed up with private IMs. If I "tear off" an IM I still have an open chat box at the bottom obstructing my view. All tooo easy to write in chat what was meant to be private and why take up space with a permanent chat box? The IM icons were unobtrusive and let you know who you were IMing without the clutter of a useless toolbar.
  3. Same problem. I LIKE viewer 2 though. I didn't think changing the profiles format was a great improvement. The old format was MUCH faster and saved automatically. For some, the new format may be fast enough but for those of us with low bandwidth, it seems to take FOREVER to load. I have to minimize it and come back later to read or add notes. I don't really want to go back to viewer 1, Phoenix or any other viewer with a viewer 1 like interface. Update: I went back to version 2.8.1 and the profiles work again so it definitely is a viewer version 3.0.3 problem. I messed up the first time and had "download and install updates automatically" checked in pref's and it updated to 3.0.3 Remember to uncheck that pref if you want to roll back to an earlier version =^.^=
