    there are tons of items - including avi's - that can make someone look cute af without being a gacha. and gacha's aren't cheap when the person wants one specific item (and not always rare or ultra) and they are dropping sometimes hundred of DOLLARS/EURO'S on linden in order to get the item. Also, the fact that this will stop home and decor stores from releasing items as no copy (cause yeah, one patch of grass is all i need) is brilliant (and i mean they still could in their store but they would be blasted across the universe if they did that). Want to sell things one item at a dang time cheaply so it's more about quantity - join a weekend sales event. People can pick exactly what they want and you're stlil selling it for 75L.

    It is hard and VERY draining to put yourself out there. I have been forcing myself to do that. I went to the destination guide last night and I started to sim hop. On one of the sims (I forget the name) the sim owner actually imed me and thanked me for coming to the sim - I ended up having a really lovely conversation with her. Will we become friends? who knows, but as hard and draining as that step was for me to take, i did and I am happy i did. You can always say hi to me in world in you like as well!

    So not sad to see gacha's go the way of the dinosaur. It was an exploitive business model. I am not sad to see events like Arcade go away either. You want to see a small amount of items for a small price - do some of the wonderful weekend sales events. that way people can CHOSE what they want and not have gamble and have stuff they don't. Gacha was a horrible business model and I have no sympathy for anyone (creators or event coordinators) who exploited this horrible trend.

    The longer I am on SL (and the older I get in general) the less I want to put up with certain behavior from people - but I still want to be friends with fun, creative, non judgmental people who don't take themselves too seriously. Why do I find now that it's harder to make friends on SL the longer I've been here (and don't get me wrong, I have some AMAZING friends on SL - just scheduled change and what not). Anyone else have this trouble - those who have been on SL for years?

    that's what I use my favorites landmarks for . i love the fact that fs allows the buttons on the top of the view so i can just click the button and tp to one of my favorite places.

    Welcome to SL - i would recommend joining a community - I joined bloodlines (I am not longer active in it and it's not what I am recommending, just telling you what *I* did) and that's how i made friends in SL. I know how difficult it is when you have social anxiety - it crosses over into the interwebs - and I, myself, am a HUGE introvert so I am torn between wanting to make new friends and being left the heck alone. LOL. Also, if you designed in IMVU you could definitely do that here. Check out Builders Brewery which will show you how to use your talents in sl.!

    People complaining about designers dropping old bodies/heads to design for the newer bodies/heads that people will spend money on. Things move on. I rock a Maitreya - and yes, I realize the day will come when I may find a new body i love (it's not happened yet) and I will see less and less stores making for it - but that's life - that's how I felt when I REFUSED to rock a mesh head until Bento heads were released - and then when I did get a bento head - i chose Lelutka over catwa and EVERYTHING was for catwa - i didn't complain - i just sucked it up. I wish more people would suck it up in sl. If you can't find what you want - either learn to make it (which is what all us older sl peeps would do), switch to a new body/head or suck it up.

    Cause I am a total noon on any other viewer - I used to use catznip when it first came out - and then firestorm has more to offer. I also like Singularity in the fact that it lets you see who is hiding from you - I think FS had that for a hot minute as well and then they got rid of it - I wish they wouldn't have. Now I'm trying to learn Black Dragon for photos.

    Yeah, the great thing about SL is that no one can do anything to your avi unless you give them permission to - at least - that's the way things are supposed to work. You probably clicked on a link. Any links that start with app - no bueno.

    I always think back to that scene from Madea - where she says some people are tree people - who set roots and grow in your life with you and their are leaves people - people who are with you for a season and then they go. It does suck what you've gone through - and I find that the people who pose questions and posts like you do feel that way cause you are the honest people in RL and you wouldn't play around on alts and stuff with people. I never understood how people do that - just pretend to be someone else with people you already know. That lasts about 4 seconds with me and my avi. It sucks and the only thing that helps is time to move through it. *HUGS*

    I never posted here, but after 12 years in SL - i decided to try to be more active in the community and forums - I am belladonna Wexhome (yes, I am one of the unfortunates who forgot to capitalize their first name and did not know we could not fix that). I have enjoyed SL since August 8, 2009. (Well I have an avi that's 2007, but I never played her - I got an im when I was on her, trying to get off of noob island - took the tp this very nice (I thought) person sent me to get me off the island - and lo and behold - i saw my first freenis - screamed and then logged out and did not come back until I created Bella. I started playing at the end of a very toxic rl relationship - I was thankful to get out - but when I moved from NYC to Florida to live with my mom to get back on my feet, I didn't drive - I was from NYC - didn't have to - so SL was my only social outlet for a long time. I have done almost everything - I have a little MP store where I sell gatchas and little wall decals, I was a Bloodlines Liaison and Princess of Sleepless Knights (Old bloodlines clan - no longer active unfortunately), I was a fashion blogger, fashion model, store manager, dj, hostess. Now I come on and play in my too full inventory. Some of the best friends in the world I met because of SL - In fact, my SL sister is getting married in RL next year (her and her fiance met in SL and now live together in RL ) and I am going to be the maid of honor at the wedding. I still take the odd picture here, I also come to sl for some of the adult entertainment it has to offer. The brain in the biggest sexual organ their is!" I am amazed by the creativity I see in others - I do miss the fact that the building tools that are in world (prims mainly) aren't utilized anymore - you need to be a graphic artist/3-D artist to make anything that gets any notice anymore - but that's the amazing thing about SL - everything is created by the residents.

    I have done everything possible...relogged..cleared inventory cache..relogged at water sim...collapsed and expanded the inventory, changed tags....changed clothes....what is going on. i know i am not the only one with this issue right now.

    That's exactly what happened. While i never got an email, i figured it out. Someone i know was hacked. HIs entire sl account was drained ( about 500,000L ) and was used to buy bloodlines blood. At the time I was a bloodlines liaison and i put him into contact with the creator of Bloodlines. The creators of bloodlines were able to refund his money and to thank me he gave me a VERY generous tip a few thousand linden. At this point though, he has also reported the hacking to linden labs. the same day i got suspended, Linden Labs sent this poor guy an email saying his account was to be permenantly closed. THANK GOD people in the fashion world (he is an sl designer) made a HUGE stink over it, contacting lindens on his behalf and his account was reinstated.

    Oh I did just ride it out, my concern is more why i was suspended. and i did check spam and email. still nada. I just don't want this counting against me in anyway. Three years in sl and this is the first time it has happened.
