  1. thanks Rowan, i'd noticed that briefly. i'll check it on a temporary basis to suss out what data comes through.
  2. well, it appears from my desktop that the issue is resolved. i was able to edit and save 3 listings without a hiccup. of course, should LL have any integrity i would have been issued a notification that they had fixed the problem and it was safe to continue. instead, i had to rely on my own personal world of knowledge as it befits SL and its lack of capacity for generating good user experiences. as in, we're left in a dark cloud of guessing and speculating as to who, what, why, when, where, and how of any meaningful communications with the exalted Linden organization. you have to rely on your own capabilities to evaluate just how harmful their incompetence will affect one's business. why should i have to rely on looking up the status record to see if and when the unknown issue was resolved (if it was). how often should i check? how many worrisome hours should i devote to constantly checking to see if the humpty dumpty is whole again? if it wasn't for posting on the forum, writing up a ticket, or issuing a JIRA, would this issue have been recognized? how many people did it affect? how did it happen? how long would our individual complacency of "meh, it's Second Life" quell our collective resolve that SL just doesn't work right? if the people employed by Philip and Wolf aren't treating their users like they'd like themselves to be treated i'm thinking the organization needs some more lovin. anyone allowing SL to devolve into an automated depersonalized corporate monolith shouldn't be "working" in the system. please don't let SL become an us and them monster. come out and play with us. see how our world works/fails.
  3. they're aware of the issue,... Thank you for contacting Second Life Support and for your patience. I apologize for the inconvenience you you are experiencing. Our team is aware of the issue and is currently working on a solution. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. For updates regarding the issue, please refer to our status blog here: https://status.secondlifegrid.net/incidents/s638sknf1hnb?u=z5p7c5xtj8ls If you have any further questions, please let us know. Best Wishes, Cascade Linden Account Specialist Linden Lab ============================================================== that email was a response from the ticket i filed to the freshdesk.com portal. so i go to respond and the ticket's closed. there's no where to add additional comments. no way to acknowledge receipt or give thanks for looking at the issue. normally the freshdesk team sends out a feedback request when they manage a complaint. this time, nothing. well, i'm quite upset about this, and to not be able to respond to this help desk employee on their site adds to it. so then i see in the email that i can reply to it. usually anything i get from the lab is a noreply address, okay, so i'll give my response to this email. i shoot off my drivel and 10 seconds later before i delete everything forever i get an auto reply from support @ lindenlab that tells me my comments can't be added to a closed issue!!! "cannot receive new updates" it says. what in actual hell Linden. if i didn't immediately go to the freshdesk to open another ticket just to respond to the closed issue i would have never seen my email response on the closed ticket support at the lab just told me i couldn't add. is someone actually working on how the Lab and "their most valuable assets" (us) interact? this is a great example as to just how BAD the system is. somebody's gotta do something before we all lose what we need to live.
  4. yup, me too. can't reput the category since it won't save. this means if you try to edit ANY listing, it will wipe your category. does that mean it gets unlisted??? LINDENS!!! until this is resolved i WOULD NOT EDIT ANY LISTINGS.
  5. posted a support ticket. not sure if the left hand knows what the right is doing tho. i wonder what the process is for when the Lab rats muck up live code. maybe they're out for lunch...
  6. having issues editing existing listing. looking in the forum if it's a known issue. monkeys banging on the cages?
  7. Philip and I (2012) townhall meeting (2012) Pathfinder, Jeska, Cory, Torley Ancient Mole sl19b
  8. Wulfie has the ultimate answer everyone should be using for their doors.
  9. we are reflective of our time. this is not yesterday, tomorrow won't be the same as today. enjoy what you make of your second life. or not. it's you. make your dreams come true. it's only taken us 19 years to have what we have now. what's the rush? go bother some of those green dots with your presence.
  10. the mystery continues. neither llGetObjectDetails, or llGetCreator was found. now it's getting spooky... i added a comment to the top of the workable primset (where the scripter has his name on the rootprim) and it stopped working! only way to get it to work again was to rez a new copy from inventory. i swear it's true.
  11. if i knew it was that simple i wouldn't have had to ask. merci, i'll look for that snippet once i'm back online.
  12. i'm tinkering with one of Nexii Malthus's full perm scripts and thought i could place my edited version into a HUD of my own making. unfortunately it doesn't work without having his name as creator on the root prim. i've never heard of this before. anyone else run into this genius design?
  13. harumph. excuse moi. my mistake. the automated Maturity reset was based solely on a keyword. with that term removed, we will see how long it lasts before it's flagged.
  14. this is false. i just uploaded an ad following these suggestions, marked it General and had it "automatically" reset to Mature. go figure.
  15. figured it out: only happens when i don't enter my account name with the proper capitalization. using all lowercase brings me to this error. funny thing...click the Log In link and i'm signed in with no extra effort. go figure. the Lab's rolling out forced double authentication for the JIRA? see ya....
  16. i saw that "click action" as having some potential. i built some objects with the changeable clicks (sit, zoom, buy), but once they were attached as a HUD, they all came up blank. another question, how are the links in the viewer interface and its tabs activated with a mouseover? any menu item is highlighted with a mouseover. same with dialog box options inworld.... which gave me a eureka moment as to how to solve this problem. instead of not knowing what you're clicking (as with the current HUD's deficiency) i built a HUD that brings up a dialog of choices on any ole generic touch anywhere on the prim. so, instead of having no idea if the HUD is a single link or multiples it's perfectly legible and only one click more. genius? the revolution has just begun.
  17. i do understand the intricacies of the various events Molly. i was viewing more from the point of view of the user. see links. see multiple links! choose link. click mouse. get results. i can appreciate the herculian efforts required to make things seem simple to the consumer but if you have to have written instructions as to how something's supposed to work, it's failed. arogant posture aside, there should be a user friendly way of illuminating or indicating hovering. if there isn't, there isn't. i'm resolved that SL has limitations.
  18. has anyone come up with a tried and true method to highlight an area of a HUD when you mouseover it? i recently came up against a newly designed HUD that had a few event links based on where you clicked on the texture/face. there wasn't any way of indicating the separate areas were individually discerned links. is there some LSL trick or genius method to have the individual areas indicated or highlighted so the user knows their mouse is in the right area? kinda like a browser's hyperlink. when you mouse over a link it underlines it and changes the text colour. i haven't given it much thought (not come up with any practical solution as of yet) so i thought i'd throw it out to the community to see if there's an existing direction i might go. it should be easy. the script obviously is able to pick up the individual areas, one could add a prim movement to act as an underline or maybe an asterisk that pops up.... anyone?
  19. nipples, genitals adult. are you telling me that all of us are not applying the Lab's rules? where are all the Karens when we need them?
  20. i don't mean to be contentious but if you knew the Moderate guidelines you posted were actually the Adult guidelines when you opened the topic for discussion and you know that the Moderate guidelines you've just posted are actually the real Moderate guidelines you knew already were the guidelines your marketplace items should follow then why ask in the first place? as an exercise of discovery you could look under "Skins" with your maturity settings at Moderate and see if any images match your mind's eye for your products.
  21. you are referencing the guidelines for Adult content. ========================================== "Adult Content Is Only For 18+ Year-Old Residents. Strong sexual content, including: Depictions of anatomical ... " https://marketplace.secondlife.com/listing_guidelines
