  1. Here's what I do: Go to EDIT SHAPE Select BODY Scroll down until you see the word HOVER Move the SLIDING BAR and watch your avatar move to set the position you need. Sometimes, this is useful to adjust your avatar's stance on certain objects as well. Select SAVE and and name it something meaningful related to its use. You may have to change it again -- but this method seems to work best for me. Peace!
  2. This issue happens to me all the time. NEVER FEAR! First of all, look through the following folders again: RECEIVED OBJECTS (sometimes missing items can be found there) Or look through the RECENT tab. Inventory items land in all sorts of places. If you know the name of the item, do a quick search in both your main inventory and in your RECENT folders. If that doesn't work, note your item count - you will need to see if this number will change. Go to an abandoned land area and log off. RELOG in the area and watch to see if your inventory uploads. check again. If you aren't finding it, you may need to clear your cache on your computer. Go to your viewer cache files and delete the cache. You can usually do a FILE serch of your avatar name to find these files. DELETE - RELOG- CHECK your inventory. If you aren't finding it, then it is time to contact the vendor. Go into your sl account through the web site area and make certain that the items were actually delivered to your RECEIVED Inventory folder. Even if you purchased something, it may not be delivered properly. If you see that everything was delivered, note the vendors of the missing items and cut and paste them in a notecard. I many instances, these people will offer a redelivery (if necessary). You can go to your computer to clear your CACHE to see if the items reappear - but if that doesn't work you can contact the vendors for redelivery or issue a HELP TICKET. Some vendors will issue you another copy of the items. Good luck
  3. When someone arrives in your home uninvited, it is often upsetting. Many times, it is an innocent mistake. Your home might have been the landmark that was a previous landmark of something else. Land owners change all the time and it is useful to check to see if your landmarks are still accurate. First, let the visitor know that it is a private home and ask the person or people to leave. Most of the time, considerate people will apologize and leave and you will never see them again. Secondly, you may want to check your access for your land parcel. If it is a LINDEN home, you can lock and restrict access through your home controls and in your ACCESS tab. You can restrit access to only your friends. Third, if you want ultimate security, you can invest in a land orb or radar tool that restricts unwanted individuals from your land. You need to be careful of this because when you invite new friends over, you will have to ADD them to the access list and take their name off etc. Some houses also have these security tools built into the homes as well so you can look for this feature when you are house shopping. You also want to be wary that people can often access your house through camming and clicking on menu driven objects. So if you have pose balls around, they can cam through the window, click on a pose ball and gain entry. If you do not have an orb that ejects them right away, they can end up squatting in your house. Be wary also of leaving your build rights open too. You can build in various levels of security for your home, but you need to realize that second life is a culture of exploring so now and then, expect a few visitors. take care!
  4. In addition to all the suggestions above, here are a few more ideas: 1. Hide your groups so the individual will not be able to know where you frequent or the new places you are hanging out etc. Modify your picks as well so the person does not have an idea where you like to visit etc. It also proves helpful to know the groups that this person belongs to etc. to see if there might be mutual connections "tipping" this person off as to where you are. 2. Make certain that you do not have any "mutual" connections with the individual that may be "helping" this person grief you. The third party may be providing information to the griefer as to where the person can find you etc. Sometimes third parties unaware of the conflict may help contribute to the problem by unwittingly telling the griefer where you are. You may want to reevaluate some of your mutual friendships. 3. Identify patterns with this individual regarding how the person "finds" you. Does this person begin to "grief" you soon after you log on? Does this person find you after you dialogue with another avatar? 4. Set up a support network with your friends. I had a griefer that was bothering me and my friends would let me know if they saw him online etc. where he was and so forth. I knew then to not go near that sim location. 5. Continue to send ARs. The more documentation you have, the better. I know it can be a pain to have to write these, but it is important to keep a record of these incidents. 6. I also contact the landowner. As a landowner myself, I take complaints seriously and I have sent warnings to individuals who harrass others at my places. After a written warning, if the problem continues, they are banned. I do not tolerate harrassment. I am certain that most landowners feel the same. Hang in there. SL is a great place to meet wonderful people. Try to stay positive and do not allow this person to bring you down. Peace -- Cana
