That would be the one from Chrysanthemum. I have been telling people for the last year (well, ever since Genus head was first released as beta) that Chrysanthemum was the defacto best there is. :) You may want to look into their other stuff also. The Dance Expressions HUD is awesome!

Plus there is the free Yawn and Sneeze if you are in the group as group gifts..those are just outside the store in the yard..

I put those on and set them to random and it's hilarious and fun when I start yawning and sneezing over and over..hehehehe

Doesn't that require we, as Americans, call other Americans "Americans"? If I were standing on a street corner in Port Washington and someone yelled "Go back where you came from!" at me (I've witnessed effectively this at the last two Fish Day festivals on the lakefront, when women wearing hijabs and orthodox Jewish men in black were harassed), I might think twice about calling myself an American. I stopped flying the US flag on the 4th of July two years ago and will start putting it out again when the harassment stops.

I think those people telling others to go back to where they came from are less American than the ones they are being jerks to..

If they had any bit of it in them, they'd pay attention to what's written on the statue of liberty..

And if they have no idea what that say's,then they are even less of one to be opening their mouth's at all....

  3. Paying annually works out for me..

I give them 72.00 a year and get back 400 lindens per week from them for getting in when I did..

The going rate to buy 400 lindens right now is 3.08..

    3.08 x 52 =160.16 -72.00 =88.16 per year at the going rate

    88.00 > 12 = 7.34 per month at the going rate

ETA: Bleh, forget this bottom part I am taking out..It's way,Waaaaay, too early for me to be doing math without my tea.. hehehehe

You get Concierge support when you buy a region but unless it changed you cannot not buy mainland, nor do you get 60 group slots ,etc. So it isn't Premium, you just get support.

It was a long time ago when that thread was..It may have been about mainland then..

After so long,it's hard to remember the details..

I've come full circle and back at newb level now hehehehe

No, you aren't required to have Premium membership to own a private region.

I just thought it was something they gave you when you got one..

Someone had told me that they give you premium when you buy a sim..

I can't remember who said it to me or even the thread it was in since it was quite awhile ago..

It may have been that at that time they did..

I'm finding out lately that, a lot of what I have learned in SL is becoming outdated..

I've thought about this one for  long time.  I guess the reason that I am still a Basic member after 12 years is that I still haven't found an answer.  I own my own private region and have never really wanted to live on the Mainland, even though the new Linden Homes do look super.  Owning my own region means that I don't need a Premium sandbox, or a sandbox of any kind.  Being able to put an Experience on my region is very enticing -- almost enough to tip the scales.  Almost.

I can go down the list of other Premium benefits and see a raft of them that could be very appealing to someone else. The limit of groups is plenty high enough for me -- I have eight or ten unused ones at the moment.  I have submitted support cases and JIRA notes from time to time, but I can figure out how most things work myself and I have a lot of very smart friends.  Getting into a crowded region is appealing, but not enough to make a huge difference.  I can usually wait (and besides, I don't like crowds much anyway).  Premium gifts?  A L$300 weekly stipend?  Nice, but not major drivers for me.

In fact, I have recommended Premium membership to quite a number of people, because I think it really is a good deal.  Just not for me .... yet.  😎

Aren't you automatically premium when you buy your own sim?

  8. Honestly,I run into more people from other countries than I do in the states..

Most of my friends in SL have been from across the pond pretty much my whole SL.. Maybe it's the places I go or something..

I never really met a lot of people from around the world until I started to get into SL.. So it's been a really good learning experience in opening my eyes to over there..

It helped to sift a lot of bull crap I got fed growing up from people that didn't know any better themselves..

But many from other places have had the same thing happen to them when it comes to the U.S... So it was a lot of fun and enjoyable sitting with friends from across the pond, myth busting each others bull crap we were fed as kids..hehehe

  9. I think it really took off in the sleezy talk shows like Jerry Springer, Sally Jessie Raphael,Montel Williams and a few others .. Even in Oprah and others..Although I think Oprah kind of left the sleazy circuit and went wholesome around when No Drama became popular..

  10. I never really heard the phrase no drama until after this song came out..then it felt  like it was everywhere..

I just remember it being, don't be so dramatic or don't get dramatic with me..then going to No drama or no more drama.. like a fad right away..

Now that you've watched it, you'll be able to get into arguments about how West Side Story is the tragic caught-between-two-worlds love story that most people think Romeo and Juliet is (R&J is a cautionary tale about impulsiveness). You'll be on the side of R&J not being a love story, and it'll be hard being right all the time.

And, with that, we're back on topic.

For more interesting facts about West Side Story to make you even more right, see Sideways and Every Frame a Painting

I don't know about all that stuff..It just reminded me of the other movie because there were two gangs in it and both being musicals more than anything..I don't know if the newer one is even a version of the older..I just thought it was neat how similar they were is all..

I think it would be nice if they made more musicals..for some reason I get glued to them real easy..hehehehe

♫ When code scripts, in a simple object
From your first if, then statement to calls http,
When you code scripts, with permissions on land
That will run passively or trigger with your hands
In your Linden Home, no errors are expected
The script is your own, no edits are permitted
    Copy protected
Then you are set in your LSL way
If you forget it all, you can read the wiki
When you can script, you'll code a script! ♫

I never seen that movie before but had to go see it after reading your post..

It reminded me of the Romeo and Juliette With Leonardo DiCaprio, only Maria lives.

It was kind of neat to watch really..

If access to a property is not restricted in some way, it IS public access, even something that clearly looks like a private dwelling.

You must do ALL the following  things to ensure compliance, even in a private residence.

What does "behind closed doors" mean?

Adult activity on Moderate land must be conducted "behind closed doors," meaning that you must make every reasonable effort to ensure that the parcel is private. This means:

Allow only a group or specific individuals access to the parcel. If it is group-access only, the group must not be freely open to join.

Hide avatars (turn off avatar visibility) for the parcel.

Enclose the area behind walls or other visual barriers.

That's right..They changed a bunch of stuff years back.. Bleh.. I just need to take a vacation from the forums..

Lately I've been either tripping over myself or triggering someone unintentionally.

If your home doesn't have a security orb, ban lines or group only access, it IS considered public or public access. You CANNOT have any adult objects in any place on a M rated sim that is public access, even your own bedroom, if you don't take steps to restrict access.

No it's not considered public access or public land.. You don't have to have any of those things..If someone comes on your land or into your house, it's on them not you..

If they happen to stumble across people having sex in your house,it's still considered Moderate..

Adult content is not an item or object..objects don't get rated, content does..What is content.. A song would be considered content, where the instruments the people played would not..A song can be rated where the instruments aren't.. There is no rating on items, otherwise we wouldn't be able to have them on moderate land..

You don't have to have orbs or ban lines or anything but keeping it out of sight..all you really need is to have your land set to where nobody can see from the outside..

If they cross over and get an eye full,it's on them..

What makes sim rating change from moderate to adult? Those three things in bold..hosting ,advertising and publicly promoting content that is sexually explicit, intensely violent, or depicts illicit drug use.

A region must be designated Adult if it hosts, advertises, or publicly promotes

    • Representations of intensely violent acts, for example depicting death, torture, dismemberment or other severe bodily harm, whether or not photo-realistic (meaning that images either are or cannot be distinguished from a photograph).
    • Photo-realistic nudity.
    • Expressly sexually themed content, spaces or activities, whether or not photo-realistic. We broadly define what is "sexually themed" to include any sexually oriented activities and conduct.

    Good day!

There is a topic going on in a SL group in facebook where a guy who controls a child avatar says he can be wherever he wants to be that this is not against TOS. Though I've read several times that child avatars (even if controlled by an adult) cannot be in any way near adult related content.

Can someone enlighten me, please? I've looked into the TOS and I either lost something or didn't look carefully enough because the only mention to children there that I seen were talking about actual minors in real life.

It all started over a club announcement about looking for DJs and such and that they didn't allow child avatars (as all adult places I know do).

Basically just because a sim is rated Adult, doesn't mean it has a lick of adult content on it..The world doesn't automatically set the rating of the land, the sim owner does..

I used to have my sims set to adult..Not really for any other reason than, just B'cause..

Half the time I didn't have anything down on the ground and just used them more for a sandbox more than anything.. Some set them up like that for certain RP or just to be on the safe side..

Adult rated sims does not always mean there is porn there..

We make assumptions depending on the context in a thread, sometimes wrong and sometimes right. There was discussion about military issues before Shudu made his comment. Hence Scylla's comments regarding the military in America seem plausible to me.

I agree though with your general point -- that not all Americans are weird -- but we have to look at a bigger picture to understand the general attitude toward the importance of the military in America today. To ignore this is dangerous, as we have military bases all over the world and the Cheeto In Charge loves force and power.

The thread is about guys going around in SL claiming to be in the military that more than likely are not..Should it be illegal for them to do that..

Some see it as the OP is weird..

Someone posts their first post of the thread, not quoting someone usually means they replied to the OP..

I didn't take them too seriously in what they said, but felt like chiming in to say something, not really too serious myself.. To say,not everyone is..

Now people are trying to give me some sort of history and current events lesson because I responded to a 3 worded post..

I sure thought the whole, Hold My beer for a minute, thing would have eased things back a bit..

I wasn't very serious about it myself..just idle cruising through the forums..

All this is because I responded to someone saying,In their first post of the thread, Americans are weird?

They didn't quote anybody or anything else..

You all are putting context into something someone else said..All I was doing is responding to what they said.

    Not all of them are..

Shudo can correct me, but I think what is being got at here is that there are some aspects of "American culture" that seem very alien to those of us on the outside, rather than that individual Americans are "weird." (I'm sure we all of us have our share of "weird".)

One element of that is the relationship that the US military has, or seems from the outside to have, to the rest of American culture. Certainly, your armed forces are much more visible (on the streets, but also in popular and "elite" culture), and much more significant in a sort of "mythic" way to understanding how you see yourselves, than is the case here in Canada.

That's pretty understandable, given our different histories, and very different positions in the world order. Yours was a nation built out of a successful war. Mine, by contrast, was founded -- at least, the non-indigenous part was -- by "losers" in war: French colonials conquered by the British in 1759, and British loyalists fleeing the 13 colonies after the Revolutionary war. We have a much smaller military presence in our society and, despite the periodical attempts by our right wing politicians to emulate the US approach, it is a very much smaller part of how we see ourselves.

You got all of that out of, Americans are weird?

Out of everything I said..It just boiled down to,Not all of them are weird..It's really not much deeper than that..

Just two of us using wide brushes.

    Americans are weird.

It depends on where you are standing..

I've lived in cities and out in the country.. In the cities you will find many weird, strange and creepy people..Mainly because they are so packed in there like rats and scared to death of each other..

Out in the country you will find some crazy people.. Mainly because they are more free and more room to let loose..I mean the, Hang on to mah beer for a minute, kind of crazy.. Not scared one bit of just about anything.. hehehehe

There is a lot of people just chugging through also in both areas, like anywhere else in the world..
