  1. <<the thing is that NOTHING has been done from LL>> LL has, and will, block TPV's that are known to violate TOS in any way.
  2. I'm sure there are shinier things out there to look at No one is making you read this thread lol. Yea, it's all a bit dramatic. Feelings were hurt and people want to talk about it. If it goes on for 1 day or 10, obviously someone else is finding value in the discussion.
  3. Even if stores IRL could ban people with curly hair or blue eyes, or whatever, they would be digging their own grave in doing so. As our SL counterpart is finding out, people don't like discriminatory jerks. They will lose their business very quickly.
  4. Why even pay for pron? Unless I'm the only one who knows it free <eg>
  5. That's very true. I thought it was pretty clear that LL has no involvement in what residents do, and can't do much to help. Just don't hand your money to people I guess, if your 8 dollars really matter to you anyways!
  6. I seriously doubt LL has any concern for your "friends" promise of Skype pron or whatever. Their general view on giving people money out of hand is that it is a gift. If you pay someone's vendor or tier box and do not get the item or services promised, it is viewed more as a business transaction and they are more likely to get involved. Try to be more careful about handing people money, and when you do, understand that you might get nothing in return, including help from LL. Lots of people will scam you if you are gullible.
  7. Sorry, but there has always been greifing and copy-botting, even before the teen grid was merged. I for one, have noticed absolutely no difference in the people I meet, even though everyone was like OMGAHZ TEH TEENS WILL RUIN EET ALLL!!!! Sheesh. As for 3rd party viewers, LL knows that their own viewer is deficient. They should employ the people who make wonderful 3rd party viewers so that their own will be great. That is the only way they can outlaw TPV without a mass exodus.
  8. I agree that it's not a problem for LL to solve, it's a social problem. Someone always wants to tinkle in your cheerios, so best get used to it lol. One thing that LL could do, to enable the society to police itself though, would be to move to an Ebay sort of thing, where sellers can leave feedback, you can see what feedback a user has left for others, etc. I wouldn't want the system to prevent people from buying from others or selling to others, but at least you would have fair warning of who you are dealing with.
  9. Yes, those projects for later...ugh. Sounds like I might want to make this one a priority though, I'm glad you started this thread! I was not aware that many people like to have trans or gift abilities, so that's something I want to pay attention to
  10. <<.it sounds like they are doing you all a favor by saving on future headaches anyways..>> You are right on that! They are making a bad name for themselves, I don't want to be associated with something like that.
  11. We hun, that is because you are a decent person who hasn't lost sight of why you started the group to begin with. It's no fun to watch your friends being treated badly. I guess the only thing to do is keep an open door for those who get booted or mistreated over there. Good for our group, bad for theirs lol.
  12. <<they won't be able to participate in the Hunt....she didn't like that they were keeping people from joining or participating in her Hunt>> The sim won't be allowed in the hunt, or is this just affecting one or two merchants there? While I think it is very unfortunate for any merchants who are excluded from the hunt, I see this as a step in the right direction. At least these merchants are being made aware that their landlord/group leader is practicing bad business that is affecting them. The more members who know about it, the more likely they will be forced to stop the behavior or go down the tubes. Some might say that exclusion from the hunt is the same thing, but most of the hunts I do have rules about what kind of land (no Adult sims) and other accessability issues. Why let someone in your "gridwide hunt" if people can't get to the locations? This still leaves the door open for banning trouble makers, but makes it undesirable to use mass banning.
  13. I used to shop at a garden store before I started building- their items were no copy and came in packs of like, 3-10 items. This really annoyed me because they were pretty expensive for what they were. I wouldn't mind paying 200-400L for a really nice copyable item like that, where you are obviously going to want to use more than one, or 10. Thanks for selling your stuff copy!
  14. I generally prefer buying Copy/Mod, no trans items, and that's how I sell things, unless they are something I consider gift items, then I sell them Trans only. Most of my Marketplace listing are copy/mod though, since they are giftable. Really, I should start using vendors that can gift items IW also, but that's another project for later
  15. The most useful things for me would be basic (and some less basic) building supplies. Things like walls with different shape/size doorways and windows, hollow cubes with doors/windows, L-shaped walls with doors/window holes. I am always looking for architectural elements like detailed One Piece doors- stitched proper so they work with a normal door script, windows, facade and trim pieces from a variety of building styles, roofs, stairs, railings, etc. I'm sure I could think of a few dozen other things, but these are the pieces that are annoying me at the moment. I use a lot of native prims in building, some sculpt too. I would like to use mesh in my buildings though, because of the prim savings and ability to texture multiple faces. Oh, and multiple texturable faces is a must have for me! I bought some really nice mesh banisters but found out they only have one face. What good is that?
  16. Personally, when I was banned/items returned from this region, I decided they could just bite me. I asked nicely for an explanation and never got one, so oh well! The OP just found out he is banned, and is emotional about it. Understandable. We do know why the ban, he's just trying to make the point of, why do people have to be so petty? I do feel for the members of that group who rent in their market. They might be wondering why their traffic numbers are low, and have no idea that the land owner has mass banned people. I sure would like to know if I was paying someone for land, if they are excluding potential customers for no reason.
  17. It's pretty messed up that merchants, or anyone, would flag items or give bad reviews just to mess with the competition. If I did legitimately buy something and had a bad experience though, I would not hesitate to leave honest feedback. Just because I am also a merchant doesn't mean that I have to expect less. I would give the merchant time to respond and remedy the problem before leaving negative feedback though.
  18. The issue is not nearly as far reaching as hundreds of sims, thank goodness! It is a similar sitation though because the owner of the region has banned many people, simply for being in another group, without their renter's knowledge. The vendors on this land rent small parcels for their businesses, and I would not be happy to be one of them and find out that masses of people are banned from my sales area.
  19. <<But damn, reverting to teendom & adopting the attitudes of entitlement just because you are anoymous is almost laughable. If it wasn't so pitiful.>> Very true! I think we are all guilty of a little bit of childishness at times. I see where Mac is coming from. It's really upsetting that he is being excluded, as it was when it happened to me. I also get that it is the land owner's right to do whatever they want with the land they pay for. I wouldn't want LL dictating what you can do when you are paying $300 a month!
  20. That system sounds insane. Might be fine for use on personal land, like a home, but I would never use something like that in my business. Sure, having some security when I'm not around would be nice, but the old fashioned Ban button seems to work fine. I can see people losing a lot of business if they use something like that on a commercial parcel, especially since some people will abuse it and just add a bunch of names.
