  1. To be honest, the only spam about the promotion I have seen is your posts about it I bet that there really are a limited number of land owners who are benefiting from the promotion. That's because we have mega land barons, not because it's a conspiracy.
  2. ITA! A simple "hey guys, we acknowledge the prob and are working on it" would even help at this point. Waiting for LL to do something is like a freaking religion. You are sure someone is up there, and they are probably doing something, but no one can show you any proof of it
  3. Yea, Raglan Shire is the only thing that comes to mind. If you find a group for little animals, they might have some more ideas!
  4. <<Large radius facelights in public places>> This! I hate facelights with a passion and I do comment when someone TP's in with a mega light. Sooo annoying.
  5. Group spam! Because the builder group, or cute little girl dress group really aren't interested in your hardcore subdom metal goth club. RP of any kind outside of expected RP areas. Yea, I really don't want to play your games thanks. PAY groups that promise loads of gifts or whatever that post no updates, new products, gifts or anything else for 6 months. I just paid you 500L for what now? Solicitations for sex, especially common among non-English speakers. Really, I just google translated because I thought you needed help. Well, with something other than your Johnson.
  6. Are you literally an animal, like a cat or dog- or are you a hybrid (human shape with animal skin, ears, tail, etc.?) If you are literally an animal, the choices might be more limited because animals don't wear clothes that often. If you are a hybrid, I would check out the various neko and furry shops and also the marketplace.
  7. Something happened with MP on the 13th because I got a ton of aborted orders as well. They are very rare for me normally.
  8. I haven't noticed this happening but I don't have any received reciept thing- is this a script? I would love to know the maker so I can check it out.
  9. First of all, I'm really sorry this is happening, it sounds like a total pain. I doubt it is a Linden doing this, I am thinking it is probably a malicious third party viewer (TPV). TPV's don't have to be on LL's list to connect to the grid, so basically anyone who knows some coding can make one. Once LL finds out about it they do block access from that viewer. If you are not getting satisfaction through your AR's, suggest in your next one that you feel this person may be using a malicious TPV. LL can tell what viewer they log in with and can block it if this is what's happening. Can you set your online status to show only to friends? I'm not sure if all viewers do that. Weed out your contacts, hide groups, and set to show online to friends only. Lastly- if it turns out not to be a TPV, I would look into your internet security. Somehow this person knows when you log on and with what avi. They might have some sort of program to snoop on your activity. Actually, I would look into this right away, just to be sure.
  10. And that's why I decided to finish my conversation with the OP/her friend/whoever. I tend to get a little bitchy when people get irritating. Bottom line is that the product promotes cheating, I really don't feel bad for people who tried to cheat the system and failed.
  11. Ok well the OP should be more specific. It is not against TOS to say "what" an item is on here, maybe to list the store or creator, but not the general thing. And, the original question was about the ethics of making items no perms, then about changing functionality of things that cost 5000L. If people have no clue what the OP is talking about, or don't believe that the OP was not complaining about what she was complaining about, that is her fault for being completely unclear. <<You have taken the time now to make many post with assumptions>> Yea, what choice do people have in this thread other than to make assumptions? Oh yea, to not post in it anymore. I'll opt for that one Good luck with your nefarious whatever it is ETA- Really, it would be nice for the OP to straighten things out because I don't think people have been insanely critical of her. It sure is nice she has you to stick up for her even when she portrays herself as the owner of this mysterious object.
  12. After looking at what some think is the nefarious object, I see that players can buy some accessories for the game, but the huds are free. I wouldn't say they bought into anything. Bottom line though, If I had this device on my land, I would delete it instead of trying to pass it on to another sucker.
  13. It's just a desperate attempt at sales for people who know they can't sell otherwise. I guess they think if they plop enough opportunistic avies in front of their product for long enough, someone is going to buy? Hmmm. It's not like I'm being stuck up, I don't have any notions about my stuff being the awesomest ever. I just don't like cheaters rigging traffic their way when I think my stuff is at least decent enough to sell and I don't cheat!
  14. Yep, they all do the same thing. I think it's funny that I have not seen a sploder since I was >30 days old. These coins and fish? Never. They must be advertised in freebie places or something.
  15. I'm sorry but the specific complaint in the OP was about someone (presumeably the OP) who bought a very expensive traffic gaming system, didn't like the permissions, were pissed that it didn't work well enough, and wanted someone to be outraged with them. <<They bought into this sham>> I thought you said these were the players, not the owners of the nefarious devices? Do players spend 5000L and up for the means to play this game? If this is all the same person then they have the market cornered on rip offs lol. <<Not to mention these products skirt around closely to multiple Linden TOS violations of gaming traffic, gambling, spam, and harassment to name a few>> I really don't think they skirt TOS at all. They run on external servers to avoid too much attention, but they are directly against TOS traffic gaming and gambling rules.
  16. <<draw customers because of the boosted Search rank>> And that's why traffic gaming is against TOS. It draws potential customers, not because your product is good or popular, but because you have artificially inflated it. Places with a good product do not require such tricks. Places with not so hot stuff will still (IMO) lose out because potential customers may be disappointed in what they see when they get there. Plus they are paying a ton "per click" just to get those visitors, in order to draw real potential customers. I doubt very highly this would pay off.
  17. Oh that IS something entirely different. Well, it still sounds like traffic gaming, but not "gambling" per se. I just don't see why people use any of these traffic boosting tactics, especially expensive ones. They simply do not result in customers. If this is a token hunt kind of game, I would probably not even look at what each venue has on offer, I would find my token and go on to the next.
  18. No, I'm not positive it's a sploder. It would be interesting if there are two whole controversies over traffic gaming devices going on at the exact same time though. I say, good for whoever. They were using something against TOS either way and cheating everyone, including themselves.
  19. <<So...bottoom line, this thread is about cheaters who are whining because they have been cheated by a bigger cheater.>> You got it!
  20. <<In reality, then, the item is only ever used to violate the anti-traffic-gaming terms of service. A buyer can't very well fuss about the item not violating the ToS effectively enough>> This, exactly. <<I wonder if the Lindens might be leaving this stuff on Marketplace as a form of automatic punishment for traffic gamers>> Maybe! I think the Lindens are still wading through all the AR's by, and against, the creator.
  21. I haven't read ahead, but in case no one else explained what the product is, it's a sploder ball. It's against TOS, maker had a work around, but got called out, changed his product and now users of the (against TOS) product are pissed.
  22. The subject of this thread is a "camp chair-like" object that is intended specifically to generate (false) traffic. Actually, the subject of this thread was a thinly veiled jab at a certain completely different object and service, not sure why the OP thinks it's a big sekrit, but there's a whole thread about said sekrit other thing at SLU.
  23. <<Updated products are NoCopy, Mod (except for scripts, NoTransfer>> So...then it wasn't sold NO perms. Exactly what is the problem again?
