"Progress?" Just about everyone has 64-bit processors and OSes and the Labs still crams SL into 32-bit memory limits (and "64-bit code" could be run on 8-bit processors ... it's not the processor, it is the code.)

Mark my words, what they are doing will not fix anything. If viewers are having trouble communicating with the servers (the thing SSAB is supposed to "fix") then adding yet another server is not going to help. Most likely they are just trying to appease vendors by further locking down DRM on clothing. Instead of constantly breaking things, the Labs should concentrate on FIXING things. Right now the Labs viewer is so messed up I cannot use it at all. If they break Firestorm too then I will just retreat to OSGrid. Second Life is hopeless. Three years and thousands of dollars down the drain on my end ... poured into a company that hates its loyal customers.

Your comment about the registration page is right on. There are probably people that use their bank account ID because the Labs does not tell them that their username will be public. Lawsuits are right around the corner.

This is the kind of stupid things CEOs do when, instead of actually thinking, they run the company based on stupid metrics chosen not because they are relevant, but because they are what is easy to measure. Second Life is doomed. I need to spend more time in other worlds and try to make a life there.

Yes! It would not hurt anything to let people choose an id like now, if they want, OR choose a last name like we used to. Keep display names as well.
