  1. I'll leave the interpretation of the log to Echo. I was starting to think that perhaps you have an attachment on your avatar or an item in your inventory that is somehow broken that may cause the issue. I'm not sure, though, because this usually result in a crash - not a logged out message. Very strange... - Luc -
  2. You can download Daz Studio from here: http://www.daz3d.com for free. I have played around with it, and it seems to do SL compatible animations pretty well. Mind, I haven't made any animations using the very latest version, released a little while ago. There is also Blender... ETA: Kvakkelde beat me to it... - Luc -
  3. No, uploads were working for me yesterday. Have you tried to go to a different region to see if you can upload there? - Luc -
  4. I would suggest clear cache and relog. Don't know if it will help - I've never seen the problem you describe. - Luc -

    Fine Tuning

I'm no expert when it comes to weighting myself, but I think that the lower part of the collar should not be weighted to the mNeck bone. I assume it is also weighted to the mChest and mTorso bone, which is fine. If it is weighted to the neck it will move and swing across the chest as the avatar turns and tilts the head. If you think about it, this is not what would happen in RL if you put on a jacket like this and moved your head/neck On the shoulders, you probably want to have it weighted to the mCollar, mChest and mNeck bones, but I couldn't say what weight ratio to assign each vertex for each bone. - Luc -
  6. I'm sure there is plenty of opportunity to misunderstand the info in the popup. If not, that would be a first in SL. ;P - Luc -
  7. You get an land allowance of 512m2 included in a premium membership. That means you pay tier for these 512m2 in the membership fee. These 512m2 can be used to get a Linden Home OR you can buy mainland withoug having to pay extra tier. If you want to do both, you are placed in another tier bracket because you then have the Linden home which accounts for 512m2 AND whatever size mainland plot you bought. The tier for the first 512m2 is already included in the membership, but the rest you will have to pay for. Not the best explanation... Also, check the links Irene posted. /me waves to Irene. - Luc -
  8. Echo is right. The graphics card drivers need updating. There is a jira filed for this - https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SH-2908 - which contains some hints and help from what I can tell. Even if it's probably listed in the post Echo linked to, I'm posting it specifically.... The problem should have been fixed, or is in the works. - Luc -
  9. Unfortunately, you can not add replies as you would expect in answers... You can, however, add information to your question as you have done, but you can also press 'permalink' below one of the replies to add a comment. Adding info to your original post will not trigger email notifications to the ones who have replied to you, but adding comments will cause notifications to be sent out. The message you get, is it You have been logged out... with a 'View IM...' and 'Quit' buttons, or is it the 'The system is logging you out, try in a few minutes' that Roseysun mention? In the first case I'm thinking connection, but not since you can log in with an alt. I suggest you try to (re)move the folder specific to the avatar in question from an \AppData folder somewhere. (I don't use windows so I don't know the excact path, and I'm to lazy to search to find it. . I'm kidding - try this path: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\ SecondLife\). If you're on a mac you find it in ~/library/application support/Second life. A new folder will be created the next time you try to log in. If you get the latter message you may be wearing a group tag with invalid characters. (I don't think this bug is fixed yet.) Do you remember if you changed the group title before logging out last? If this is the case, you have to log in with an alt to try to change the group title, or see if you can get kicked out of the group by the owner. If this is not possible, file a ticket. Hope some of this helps. - Luc -
  10. I agree that this seems unlikely to be a connection issue. I was thinking perhaps the firewall could cause these issues, but since it started out of the blue and you possibly didn't make any changes to your firewall, it seems unlikely. I also don't know if ims and tp offers are made through certain ports or protocols that could have been blocked. If so, You would probably not receive any IMs from other people if this was the case - I don't know. Have you tried to ask in the in world Exodus group? (I assume there is one...) - Luc -
  11. Phil Deakins wrote: But the evidence literally suggests that the universe was created. The fact that the universe exists is all the evidence necessary. The only alternative is the 'always there' idea, which doesn't hold any water. I think that most scientists prefer an 'intelligent creator' not to be the case. The universe does exist. I agree - that is a fact. If it came into being - which I prefer to 'was created' for some reason - by the act of an 'intelligent creator', did that creator always exist? And, if an intelligent force is behind the universe, should we also ask 'why' the universe was created? While reading this: http://www.science20.com/news_articles/quantum_graphity_and_early_universe_formation_big_bang_or_big_chill-93154 I came across this article: http://www.science20.com/news/what_happened_before_the_big_bang Both of these may already be well known to you all, but I thought they were very relevant in light of the discussion, so I thought I'd post the links. - Luc -
  12. Yeah! Skins are hard to make. Very true. But as Charo points out, you can get demos and try on any shape. The avatar bundles you buy are just that - a bundle of different body parts (and clothes). They are all interchangeable. - Luc -
  13. There are plenty of places in world that sell shapes. I don't know if any of them sell the kind you want, but you should be able to find a bunch of them in inworld search (if it works...). You can, however, create a shape yourself... Any shape you see or buy is based on the same shape you get when you ask for New bodypart->New shape from the '+' icon below the inventory list. If you like to tweek shapes, you may want to try that? - Luc -
  14. I'm not sure about all this tupperware, to be honest... .... @NurLaila. I'm glad you got things working again. yay! I suppose it could have been an item in your inventory or an attachment that were broken somehow, that you managed to bin. Who knows? Main thing is - you're working again And I agree with Echo - It'd be great if you felt like hanging out on the forums. There's room for everybody around here. No pressure, though. Have fun!!!! - Luc -
  15. That's Great News, NurLaila!!! I'm glad to hear it. (I'll add another comment below Echo's post. Just because I can... ) - Luc -
  16. I would hardly call LL an IT company - let alone a pure one. They are a service provider where the service happens to be an online service. A social experiment more than anything else. That does not make them an IT company any more than, say, Facebook is an IT company. The viewer, as such, is more of a byproduct of the service than a main product (or even main part of the product). - Luc -
  17. Kwakkelde Kwak wrote: Avatar attachments, I've seen outfits with hundreds of sculpts or with meshes so dense they looked solid. True. It's amazing just how many can fit in a small space. But framerates should improve when the camera is facing away from the sculpts, right? - Luc -
  18. lol. It's funny, but a bit desturbing as well to watch that happeing. It sounds like you have the same issue I have from time to time, and I'm sorry to say, I don't know how to fix this as long as your animation is made correctly. In my case it usually stops when I stand up and sit down again. That's all I know to do... I hope someone else can give you advice and that you get it sorted out... - Luc -
  19. If you can, go for the one with intel 4000 card. It also have a better processor (i5) than the other one, so it will perform better overall even if it does not make a big difference for SL. But as Sassy pointed out, you won't get incredibly good performance out of an intel card in the first place. - Luc -
  20. You mean it bends at the waist and rotates at a 90 degree angle? I've had that happning from time to time. A long time since now, though. After standing up and sitting down it stopped for me. Does it happen all the time when you sit on the prim? Also, any bone you want to override the default animations has to be different between frame one and two. Torso and chest also. - Luc -
  21. Allright! On the Mac you find the folder in ~/Library/Application Support/. I'm on a mac myself which I didn't quite know where to find this on windows. If you are on (Mountain) Lion you may have to go to Finder, select the Go->Go to folder and type/paste the path in the field to find the location. Also, have you tried to use another mesh capable viewer? Like Firestorm or Exodus? There's a list of viewers here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory - Luc -
