  1. have you tried a manual cache clear? More often than not, borked avatar issues can be resolved by deleting the cache file off your computer and logging in to a quiet sim and let inventory fully reload itself. :edit: breedable horses are known lag monsters. let your landlord know as most rental communities don't allow them.
  2. Any time I have avatar weirdness that doesn't resolve with the usual rebake or character test/re-wear items I go for manually removing cache and that has always worked.
  3. Gernerally avatar rez issues falls into two things. An inventory issue which can be resolved by manually clearing cache or a video driver issue which can be resolved by updating video drivers.
  4. how about? A&A Zen Magic Alli&Ali Designs http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Wonderland%20Beach/118/128/23
  5. Anyone know when the basic shader problem is gonna resolve? I've seen a few jira entries that are set to "resolved" and the problem still exists. sculpted prims dissapear and or show up as black blotches on myself and other avatars. Anyone have a clue? Second Life 2.8.1 (237758) Aug 4 2011 14:15:58 (Second Life Release) CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (2660.01 MHz) Memory: 4088 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 260/PCI/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0012.8026 OpenGL Version: 3.3.0
  6. I've found that recently updates have been resetting LOD to the default 2.0. Once you have the "show developer menu" options selected, open the viewer, go into debug and change the setting, close the viewer before logging in and it should stick. I know the viewer will not hold any settings changes if it crashes and I've gotten in the habit of changing all settings to where I like, then close to save, reopen and log in.
  7. Okay so what is the status of the basic shader issues with the 2.x viewer? The black blob is supposed to be a transparent sculpty.
  8. I did some poking around and it is the basic shader snafu. Basic shaders off resolves the problem but then, no shaders... Second Life 2.8.1 (236154) Jul 20 2011
  9. I am seeing multiple problems with sculpty not rezzing correctly. Others are reporting alpha problems too. Sculpty will rez and de-rez depending on camera distance and server, also showing up as just a black blob on other servers. Here is a pic of a pair of shoes I love that use a sculpt transparent mask and it is showing up as a black blob now.
  10. Yeah, turning off basic shaders works and simply turning off atmospheric shaders works as well but with texture glitches. I just tried this in my linden home and turning off only atmospheric shaders causes transparent textures to highlight using the curtain textures contained in the linden home windows.
  11. Hello, So I just upgraded to 2.7.4 (235167) and highlight transparant is messed up as in it doesn't work. Anyone else? There are a few of us with the problem
  12. nope. anisotropic filtering is a texture thing with off angle viewing. anti aliasing is more of an edge of object thing..
  13. Greetings Peeps. A while ago I discovered I can control anti-aliasing though the nvidia control panel software of my GTX260. I could disable anti-aliasing in the viewer and just let the driver handle it just dandy. Somewhere along the line, perhaps three updates ago I lost that ability. I'd like to play with lighting and shadows but due to the viewers collision (crash) problems with anti-aliasing enabled, things are sorta sketchy at best. I prefer nice smooth lines if I can. Driver control of anisotropic filtering still works through nvidia control panel though. Any advice? Thank you. :matte-motes-grin: Second Life 2.7.1 (232828) Jun 13 2011 17:32:54 (Second Life Release) Release Notes You are at 262,858.0, 232,721.0, 102.5 in Hamnida located at sim8955.agni.lindenlab.com (216.82.41.131:12035) Second Life Server 11.05.31.231546 Release Notes CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU 750 @ 2.67GHz (2660.01 MHz) Memory: 4088 MB OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Graphics Card: GeForce GTX 260/PCI/SSE2 Windows Graphics Driver Version: 8.17.0012.6658 OpenGL Version: 3.3.0 libcurl Version: libcurl/7.21.1 OpenSSL/0.9.8q zlib/1.2.5 c-ares/1.7.1 J2C Decoder Version: D?A?A
  14. I have an i5 750 and for a long time the 2.x viewer worked just fine. win7 would manage across all 4 cores with no problems. about the time avatar physics came out in the development viewer I noticed that at some point, my processor would max out and the only way to recover SL usage was to reboot the computer. It's been like that ever since, eventually I have to reboot to run the viewer.
  15. for some reason the viewer will eventually slam my CPU to 100% and lag terribly. The only resolution is a reboot. I don't monitor free memory though but I do think the current viewer does have a memory leak again.
  16. How can I test for a memory leak? The viewer will work fine for days on end and then the problem occurs. If I reboot my computer the problem clears.
  17. For some time now I've been having lag issues with the 2.x vewer. It has occured about the same time that avatar physics was introduced. I noticed the problem with the development and beta viewers, and now the release. At some point the viewer lags out horribly and I have to relog. It is random but triggered by an event like going into mouse look or opening preferences. I cannot get hold of what is happening. I've cleared out all vewers and associated folders, reinstalled, the problem presists. Some times I can go for hours, others minutes.. Graphics are on ultra with 128DD and no rendering of lighting or shadows in the develop menu. Any ideas? Thanks. 18. I'm more interested in what is responsible for creating the effect. If avatar physics is managed by the users viewer (client side) then everyones settings are going to be different. How much does the various forms of lag affect physics as well. I played around and for settings that looked okay on me turned out quite wrong on someone else when I gave them the layer to try out.
  19. oh, what happened to the 'allow multiple threads' option in advanced?
  20. Hello. I used to be able to run two instances of the 2.x viewer with little problem. Now I cannot. My CPU usage immediately climbs to 100%. The only thing I’ve done recently is install the beta viewer and the development viewer. I recently reported the beta and development viewers were CPU killers but something else has happened and the regular release version does the same thing now. Nothing else has changed with my computer. Any ideas? 21. anti-aliasing. I never could get it to work with my GTX260 without tweeking some debug settings. It's two of these three debugs RenderUseFBO = True RenderDeferred = True RenderDeferredGL = True FBO and DefferredGL are the ones I think. Settings those to true enables anti-aliasing to function. Also try using your Nvidia control panel and have the video drivers deliver anti-aliasing. The 2.X viewer is nice and can render the world quite well but it is horrible at detecting and using video cards properly.
  22. I thought about posting a Jira but I figured I better get an idea of what is going on first since I am new to using beta and development viewers.
  23. Hello, Has anyone else noticed the development and beta viewers are CPU killers? I can run two instances of the current LL viewer (2-6-1-225680) with relative ease. Running two of the beta (2-6-3-225685) or two of the development (2-6-4-226210) pushes my CPU to 100% immediately and both grind to a halt. I'm new to using beta and development viewers, is this just they way they are or should this be a concern?
