  1. you're welcome, ivanna! keep us updated, i'm sure you'll be fine. worst case scenario she'll orbit you or deform you and haha excellent name!
  2. that's called group liabilities and is enabled by default when a new group is created. easy to disable. look under "members & roles" tab and then "roles". highlight the "everyone" role and in the "allowed abilities" window to the right scroll down to accounting and under there the "pay group liabilities and receive group dividends" is listed. uncheck that and that would be all. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Managing-your-group-memberships/ta-p/700117#Section_.8 oh. and - questions asked in here are answered in here :matte-motes-nerdy: add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  3. if you have mod rights to a friend's items and you delete their stuff it won't go in your trash, cause the items do not belong to you. they should go to your friend's lost and found folder, so have her look there. if it was no copy then i am unsure at this point what happens to it. but have her check her lost and found folder first. builds are usually copiable so all she might have to do is rez another copy. eta: are you really sure you deleted it, though? cause you should have gotten a warning you have to click agree, or ok, in order to proceed with the deletion. if you're on phoenix by any chance you could have just derendered it. it has happened before if that is the case simply remove the listing from your asset blacklist. top menu > phoenix > asset blacklist, find the house, select it and rerender. then either change group tag, tp out and back in or change draw distance to 0 then back up to where it was and it will reappear in a few seconds.
  4. oh, this doesn't work in v2? hmm, well, i shouldn't be surprised, really
  5. ctrl+t should work :matte-motes-nerdy: add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  6. you should have received an e-mail confirmation. if you didn't get any, check your spam folder. also, according to the linden home faq (knowledge base rocks) you should have a lm waiting for you inworld. http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-FAQ/ta-p/700101#I_didn.27t_receive_my_confirmation_email._What_should_I_do.3F you can also see the slurl on your dashboard > land manager> my mainland add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  7. the phoenix viewer is not an official viewer so it's not supported by the lab people. but we are many here who use it and may be able to help if you tell a little more about what happens when you try logging in. just saying it won't let you doesn't tell us much. welcome to sl! - and i hope you will find out soon it's not a game - it's so much more :matte-motes-nerdy: add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  8. official viewer download is here: https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/?lang=en-US and more viewers here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers and third party viewers here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Third_Party_Viewer_Directory you are thinking of firestorm. a great viewer. you can find that one here: http://www.phoenixviewer.com/downloads.php add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  9. i can't find anything anywhere in the linden home faq about this - http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Linden-Home-FAQ/ta-p/700101 - but i can't imagine it is allowed. never heard of anyone doing this. linden homes are for premium users, and the parcel controls along with the house controls are only available to the owner of the land (the person that signed up for the home). so even if it was allowed the person renting wouldn't be able to do much and so i don't think it would be much desirable. there should be additional information about the use of linden homes inworld, though - read the covenant; world > region/estate > covenant. eta: yeah, what peewee said, it falls under commercial use. that's what i thought, but my monday brain couldn't process :matte-motes-nerdy:
  10. when weird stuff is happening always check the grid status page first. http://status.secondlifegrid.net/2011/08/01/post1358/ it says it is resolved, but from experience it always takes a little while extra for it to actually be resolved. and i experienced some weird stuff inworld just now and had tp problems which led to a logout. so i would give it a little time and patience. it should be back to normal soon. add info/comments to your post by using options > edit. eta: i am not able to log back on right now, unable to connect to grid. and before i was logged out i sent a group notice that never showed and member list was blank. also i am having issues with the secondlife.com website as well. so weird stuff is definitely going on.
  11. yeah... the sl avatar butt... not so pretty
  12. what's with the devil face? is this a trick question? :smileysurprised: fuggedaboutit! add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  13. hi elie \o it seems to be working fine for me. if i search for "giggles", "*Giggles!*" or "Giggles!*" under merchants/stores tab your store comes up as number 6. add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  14. that link leads nowhere, the old blogs/forums are no more and all links to previous threads are broken, so you need to add info to your post here for us to help. give as much detail as possible. at what point does the login fail, do you get any error messages and if so, what does it say, for instance. add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  15. thank you, peewee :matte-motes-bashful-cute-2:
  16. how to sell linden dollars: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Buying-Linden-dollars/ta-p/700107#Section_.3 add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  17. for inworld purchases it's not possible. sorry i do recommend everybody to download the transactions on a regular basis. never know when it may be needed.
  18. when stuff fail to rez it's possible there was a temporary sim/server glitch and that the item will either re-appear in your inventory a little later or be sent to your lost and found folder. i'd give it a little time and if it doesn't find it's way back i'd clear the cache. if it's still not back after that then i would contact the merchant. always check the merchant's profile to see what type of communication they prefer. add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  19. ouch it is unfortunately as griffin said; i just want to add that if the item in question was copiable then there should be a chance the merchant can send you another copy. unless it was a one of a kind but even if it was transferable i would have tried explaining what happened to the merchant. worst case scenario you get a "no". for 40 000 it's worth asking imo. i hope this resolves for you. ps.: just a thought - did you purge your trash? if not then it's still in there. add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  20. sounds to me like some sort of hud is telling you how much memory it has (left). my ao does this every time i log in or detach/reattach it. but it's difficult knowing exactly what is going on without more info. sooooo - what rolig said :matte-motes-nerdy:
  21. xSummerLovinx wrote: [...]and the hair vanished and then so did I[...] curious to hear a little more about this vanishing act :matte-motes-agape: did you turn into an egg/a particle cloud? if so, then try valerie's suggestion. if it's something else we will be needing just a liiiiittle more info to help :matte-motes-nerdy: add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  22. Phoebe Avro wrote: Just trying to get your post count higher bee? lol :smileyindifferent: i spend the majority of my time here helping people in the answers section. for people offering their time and knowledge to help a poster it is preferable having all the info in one place. why, shouldn't have to be explained. when people do post duplicates it's common to tie the threads together this way. how someone can read something else into this is beyond me.
  23. it is indeed possible to "make a nose" in any gfx editing program and add it to your avatar as a tattoo layer in order to change the appearance of the skin/avatar, but to make it match the existing skin and look good is hard and i bet it's not worth the time, money and energy invested. i would try a different skin; there must be thousands and thousands available - surely there must be a nose to your taste among them. :matte-motes-nerdy: not sure what you mean by "in a different window", but any graphics need to be imported into sl before you can apply it to something your avatar then wears. each upload costs 10 L$. i am sure others can add links to tutorials, but if you've already seen some and they are hard i doubt any others will be easier. sl's skin creators are immensely talented, and perhaps some of the most patient creators of all here :matte-motes-nerdy: add info/comments to your post by using options > edit.
  24. when people open multiple threads about the same issue it's common to ask them to keep to one thread. this makes it easier for everyone wanting to help, having all the information available at one spot, avoiding people answering in one place unknowing about other info in a different thread. common forum etiquette. and possible help can be given faster. a win-win, really :matte-motes-nerdy: when a poster marks a reply as "accepted solution" this means the issue has been resolved. Accepted Solutions are automatically nominated for possible inclusion in the Knowledge Base after Linden editorial review. Residents who authored the Accepted Solutions will be noted as contributors! http://community.secondlife.com/t5/help/faqpage/faq-category-id/qa#qa_accept so a better way would be to try the suggestions and then come back with updated info. i see your second thread is also marked as resolved. i hope it is :matte-motes-smile:
