  1. The original b[xxxx] bots don't talk to people. They appear for a moment, do whatever they're doing, and disappear. It looks like people have been creating copycat avatars and threatening people with them, but I've not seen any evidence that they're connected with the original bots. That means it's important to note if you're seeing the original bots or if that one specific avatar is following you. The original bots are unlikely to be connected to the situation and are simply appearing everywhere because that's what they do. They don't follow anyone in particular. If the avatar who threatened you is turning up everywhere, the most likely thing is this is someone you know on an alt, so they know where you hang out. An easy test is when they turn up, teleport somewhere you've never visited before without telling anyone what you're doing. See if they follow.
  2. There's a lot of stuff that could be happening, but not enough detail given to know what is happening. Possibles are you were trying to rez onto a mesh, the object is a combined group of objects and some would have ended up sticking into other land areas or the object was too high in land impact. It'd help to know exactly what error messages you got when it failed. Also, if logging out and coming back a bit later solved it, as sometimes it's just a temporary technical issue.
  3. I'm not sure what happens if they remove the payment info after buying it, though there are other options for getting money. They can earn it directly or might have friends/family that give them money (when I started out, a friend gave me enough to sort my avatar). Someone saying they don't have alts does not automatically mean they're lying.
  4. I've been selling mushrooms for over a decade and I've never had issues with someone seeing an ugly modded version and holding it against me. I've also never had issues selling multiple colour/pattern versions of the same basic item. I saw sales increase after I made all my basic particle scripts mod, so people could edit the code directly if they wanted. I can understand why you'd think it though, because people told me those things when I started out. Turns out they were wrong.
  5. Thanks for saying about the sale! I got a bunch of animals. The paler ones can be tinted too, which'll be useful for fantasy builds.
  6. You've seen the answer in the other thread. Owners believe it will force people to explore, not really getting that people shop and explore for fun, so will just leave if it gets frustrating. Like getting stuck in rocks all the time because the owner never tried actually walking around. When everything is close and easy to navigate, people will walk or cam anyway. Excessive numbers of people flying is usually a sign that it's a terrible place to walk or cam. But instead of fixing the issues, owners just ban flying.
  7. Sound causes sensory overload for me pretty quickly, so I usually keep it turned off. I turn it on when visiting experiences that use it and to listen to streaming music. Not a lot the rest of the time. I never listen to voice. The volume levels vary too much and it's not like I can follow what people are saying most of the time anyway. I always restrict sounds to parcel. It means I don't accidentally annoy all my neighbours because I didn't know that painting I had out for two months starts barking every five minutes.
  8. Creators should list permissions and I prefer mod stuff, but I'm never going to agree that all creators produce worthless uncreative junk that anyone could make. If it was that quick and easy, you'd make everything you need and never need to buy anything. Taking out your upset on all creators, including the ones doing exactly what you wanted, is not going to improve anything.
  9. BIN and BIS could be Bellisseria Island North and South. Just going by the fact they're connected, so could be a little island. Whatever it stands for, community spaces still seem likely from the random odd regions.
  10. Millbank has a board to claim witchy bear. The other bears were sent out manually.
  11. I can also see potential for someone who wants a full region eventually. The homestead is cheaper, but is the same size, so construction work can begin and small numbers of visitors are fine. Then when it's really ready to go, upgrade it to a full region.
  12. I don't see anyone shaming anyone for having more than one. Like I said in my response, my impression has been that more than one is typical, so those of us with one are used to having to emphasise that we really mean only one (people assume it's a joke or that we're hiding accounts for some reason). I don't know why it's unbelievable, but there we go.
  13. Every reaction is good or neutral as far as the forum is concerned. We can only go up in reputation, even if everyone thinks the stuff we post is confusing junk and we're just creating drama out of nothing. Upwards we go!
  14. There's no way a script could know what is or isn't a decoration. Nor will it know if it's in the house or not (inside doesn't have to stay in theme and all that). Plus some stuff might be in theme all year round in some themes (like magic and monsters in fantasy). It's always going to be down to someone taking a look and making a decision. So though you can AR anything that looks a bit early, I'd suggest you don't flood the team with every piece of early tinsel. Also noting that fantasy has seasons in a way the other themes don't, so that could influence people's timing when it comes to decorations.
  15. I visited you to get the spider hugs! I had to go back a second time actually, because the spiders weren't hugging the first time. Lots of fun open houses this time and I didn't get banned from anywhere, unlike last year where it was an issue. More people are getting the idea that events like this happen.
  16. A lot of people have gotten bears, so stuff is happening! Thank you for the event (I also enjoyed Millbank and the coffin ride).
  17. Many resellers have multiple versions of the same item. Those items are sold from the same listing. Unboxing the items would be a lot of work for something that wouldn't stop people leaving fake reviews anyway.
  18. The buckets deleted themselves last year. It'd be great if people could leave them for the last hours of the hunt, as some people will be hunting right up to the end.
  19. I've been out testing buckets and can answer some of the questions people have asked (here and inworld). If you get the message that you've clicked that bucket before, it does not appear to lock out the bucket. If it gives you candy, it does lock it out. Some I don't think have been replaced and work, which I'm guessing is because they weren't clicked after the problem started. Once they give out one candy, they lock up. The total clicks on a bucket doesn't matter for this in any way. I've had a bucket with high numbers give a candy and one that had only been clicked once that was locked (freshly placed, so the owner likely clicked to check, and that was that). The HUD retains the new candy through logins and a fresh copy of the HUD. It really does seem to be recording if it says a candy was given. That means you can make sure some people get some candy by returning home to replace your bucket on occasion. It doesn't look set to resolve in the next five minutes, so that's about the best we've got. (If I'm around and my bucket is locked, just IM me... I'll come as soon as I can.)
  20. The people it'll most impact are those who intended to just click one bucket and get the bear and hadn't gotten to it yet. But it seems we can get them a candy by replacing a bucket, so that can be worked around. I doubt the top slots will be impacted at all by this. We'll just all have slightly lower counts if the buckets don't come back, but it will be the same for us all.
  21. Unfortunately, I went and clicked it and got the message again. Edit: From the update in the main thread, the issue is at Google's end, so we don't need to rerez buckets and they should start working again on their own at some point.
  22. I saw the comments and checked my bucket. It had also stopped working (you get the message even if you've clicked that bucket before). I picked it up and put it back down, which got it working again for now.
  23. Maybe the AI thinks people aren't happy with the predictions and so is trying to make the guesses bigger and more elaborate each time. But then people still keep asking for more.
  24. I have one and have only ever had one paid account. Judging from the disbelieving reactions to this, it's considered unusual and you're probably more typical of what people do. If you can afford it and you're finding it fun, I don't see it's a big deal. If you can't afford it, cut back. Eating is more important.
  25. I'd warn that some of the ones that have remained deleted on the list are because the bucket is gone and often the owner has changed. So handle old backup lists with caution.
