  1. They're map ghosts. When no new region is placed in a space, the ghosts can stick around for a long time. You can tell because when you're zoomed in enough to see the region names of active regions, these ones have none.
  2. Do you mean the land impact? That's set by the size of the parcel. So a 1024 Linden Home has the same land impact allowance regardless of your account type. The upcoming 2048 Linden Homes will have more land impact, because the parcels are bigger. Mainland is a little more complicated as some regions have different land impact, but again, it's set by the location and parcel size. Not by your account type.
  3. Outside of the issue of people abusing free land for every account by making twenty accounts, I think it's unlikely that people would spend enough to cover giving everyone free land. But they use a similar principle with the premium accounts, by giving people land or a house for a set subscription cost. People do go out and buy stuff as a result, which helps the economy keep going. There are genuinely new people signing up for this, because it's easy to sort out and the cost is realistic. Which moves on to whether a request is really for starting land or not. Half a region is the sort of thing you'd expand to later once you have building projects, rather than being a newbie thing. Owning a Blake Sea region is not a regular newbie thing either. Expecting them to be free or cheap is not going to happen, because there are costs (and for things like mainland sales/auctions, other residents set the final price).
  4. It's a long time since I got set up, but I have heard people recently finding it didn't just update. Maybe it will if you wait long enough. Maybe it needs a purchase. Either way, it's fine to use a PayPal account and it will update in the end.
  5. Yep, all the pending chalet regions were released on the day they started with Acquarone. So the last chalet coast houseboats and stilts, the ones around the community centre, and a few on the channel edges.
  6. I've not had issues getting people to talk to me. In general, people tend to assume tinies are not looking for sex and are genuinely just being friendly, which increases the chances of real conversations by a lot. Your avatar is usually the first thing people see, not your profile age, so it does matter.
  7. It's somewhat unlikely that you have multiple people who are obsessive about you in exactly the same way and behave in exactly the same way. Even an obsessive fan group for a celebrity would be full of individuals who all act differently. So unless you have proof that they were really different people and one of them really died, I suspect both accounts were the same person, who is not being honest with you. Ultimately, this issue isn't about the technical side, but in being clear about your boundaries and cutting her off if she won't respect them.
  8. Any resemblance to other mushrooms, real or imaginary, is purely coincidental.
  9. Acquarone (chalets and stilts on the chalet coast) has released. All these regions are named now, so more releases are likely.
  10. When I look at moderate listings, it warns me for content because I'm set to only see general. The thing it told me it contained was "furry" which is ridiculous... but possibly it's the combination with another word. From past experience, "kink" and "kinks" would be treated as two different words. The system is not smart about singular and plural. It could also be due to another word entirely that nobody could predict, but it's really likely to be something like that.
  11. This was discussed in the group, so making sure it's also here. The rest of the older chalet regions have been named. This includes the regions around Muehlenbach (chalet community region), the last of the chalet coast (mostly houseboats with some stilts) and a couple of train/water channel regions that didn't release with the rest of those ones. Once they're released, that's almost all of the chalet area done (just the edge to the north to finish off, which is in progress).
  12. Try removing the mention of the furry kinks tail. It's telling me it's moderate content because "furry" but I bet "kinks" will do it as well. Be sure to remove from keywords and such as well as removing it from the description. Issues like this are almost always because of the words used. Sometimes it's obvious which words cause it. Sometimes not.
  13. People have been discussing things on the forum like where they got their furniture, relevant sales of decor items and other events. This has been allowed. So no, suddenly not allowing discussion of this charity event would not make sense under the rules. Most people understand the difference between discussing things that might interest residents on the forum or in groups and putting out vendors/kiosks on a Linden Home parcel.
  14. When I saw the announcement, I wondered if anyone here would sign up. I'm not great at standard room decorating stuff (I just throw out pets and shiny things), but it'll be interesting to see what people come up with.
  15. Blake Sea is ridiculous, but there are a lot of cheaper parcels that join the waterways that reach that sea. Even more since the Linden Homes as they connected the continents. Plus getting a Linden Home is a very cost-effective way of having something that connects to that water (all houseboats and a lot of the stilts do, plus other coastal houses in other themes). I'm working class and a lot of stuff is outside my reach in Second Life, but I can have a house and some land and buy stuff. It's not as all or nothing as you're treating it. There are lots of options between the most expensive region in Second Life and nothing at all.
  16. Everyone has different views on what is nice too. I've visited the houses of a number of people who have multiples and I thought they were nice enough spots. I wouldn't want to live in those spots though. People often feel the same about my place, in that it's a great fantasy spot, but they don't want to live in a giant mushroom swamp for some reason. As far as multiple houses go, I think it's worth considering what you'll gain from dropping the extras. What will you do with the money and time? If there is something, focus on that. If there isn't, it might be there is no real reason to drop them.
  17. How long ago did you visit the stores? People have mostly focused on stores that still exist, but that might not be the case if it was years back. Also for the gacha one, if you can remember more details, you might be able to find some of the gacha items on the marketplace.
  18. I have a lot of free group slots, so trying to get out of the habit of being frugal with group joining. I've joined a bunch for shops where I have their stuff (I joined in time to get a festive giftcard from one, so it's going well so far). Outside of that, just hoping my health improvements hold this year so I can do more stuff.
  19. I've been selling for a long time too. What I'm trying to get across is that when things change in ways they haven't before, we have to change what we do in ways we haven't before. Sometimes strategies that might have worked for ten years will no longer work. It's what I've been considering for my shop, so I figured that perspective might help others as well. Slink obviously took the approach of closing and doing something entirely different outside of Second Life, but I think there's a less extreme option of just shaking it up in Second Life. How to do that is going to be different for every creator.
  20. It has been tough this year for any area with mostly small independent creators (in general, not just talking Second Life). When money is tight, it's not that people don't spend, but they're going to buy everything else first. The little arty things are last on the list. The main way around this is not to put everything into one business angle. I made enough money with art outside of Second Life, which covers any drop in Second Life sales. But I'm also working on a few things that aren't mushrooms (the horror) to spread my Second Life sales around a bit. For someone in bodies and other wearables, the obvious thing is to try stuff that isn't so dictated by fashion. Decor items don't age half as fast and don't need to be constantly updated as body fashions change. Also, the usual advice to put your shop in your signature, your profile, and anywhere else where you can shout it from the rooftops. You want to be sure that people know you exist.
  21. Whether the suggestions were what you were looking for or not. Whether it made sense (probably not as you didn't join the related groups). I will resuggest that a fantasy person will benefit from joining * * Fantasy Faire Fans * *. It's a huge event and the group will lead you to finding out about other groups and other events. If you take no other piece of advice, join that group. Also, given you find the newbie places too trollish and want a chatroom feel, I'd suggest Bellisseria Citizens. It's for the area with the Linden Homes that premium members get, but you don't need to be premium to join the group, visit the area or go to events. I think it might help you to see a group where people just chat about stuff, even if not specifically related to your interests. If you're struggling with the group search, I can send join links if that'd help.
  22. I'm talking about how you came to the peeves threads and other threads to complain about not finding people, but never returned to the one posted in "Make Friends". One person tried to bond based on shared interests and I offered some group suggestions. So, it did look like you were avoiding people who were trying to get you to where you could meet people, in favour of complaining elsewhere that you couldn't find anyone. It sounds like you might actually have forgotten you ever posted that thread, so I'll hit an emoji on it and you'll see it in your notifications.
