  1. No. Your request is that ticket. You can list several choices or you can be told it's taken and pick somewhere else, but you're only getting one house from that request. Your next ticket for somewhere new is your second request. And so on.
  2. On the bright side, if you were logged in, you'd be trapped with the rest of us. We can't move, groups barely work, and everyone trapped at the shop and hop can't buy anything.
  3. Renaming continues. Starling Moss is the region at the end of the previously released channel (Wiggleroom Gardens is the released neighbour). Houseboats on the west of the newbrooke area, with a railtrack behind them, have also been renamed. Starting at Olive Branch until Dashaway (Thimble Pond Farms is a released region in this area). I checked a few other areas and didn't see anything else, but others might become apparent as the map updates. It's Friday, so I wouldn't expect much else to happen until next week, but you never know.
  4. The train did run over a few other trains and anyone who didn't get off the tracks in time. Along with all the passengers who didn't make it to the end. But it arrived at the destination on time!
  5. I was waiting to see if anyone else posted now it's happened, but to be fair, I think the trains were eating most of the passengers. So probably not around to post. Anyway, it was good fun. Got kicked from the first train at a region crossing. Managed to make it to the end on the second train. I hugged some Lindens, but failed to dunk anyone as my aim is terrible. Thank you for organising the event!
  6. I learnt how to use Blender because of Second Life. I'm better at using GIMP than I otherwise would be. That comes in handy for art and graphic design work. However, I wouldn't worry so much about things being useful life skills. Pick the thing you think will be the most fun. You'll also find that a lot of Second Life projects need a bit of several skills, rather than one skill only. You might find it better to pick a project and then learn the skills needed for that. For example, I decided I wanted to make mushrooms. I had an idea what I wanted the first one to look like. I learnt all the things I'd need to make that happen.
  7. I set up my AO so that I use swim animations if I fly underwater. Which is how I discovered how many regions with underwater areas have banned fly, so you have to walk along the bottom. But anyway, I don't think that's why some beach regions emptied out. They're no different to any other social location. If they don't put the work in with events and such, people stop visiting to hang out.
  8. These switched to "Linden Home" whilst we were all crashing trains and hugging Lindens. No claiming activity yet.
  9. Newbrooke. Includes some on the edge of streams/rivers and there's a train station in Drama Llama. A released region next to them is Collina Dolce (so you can find it on the map).
  10. They've renamed and restarted the line of regions from Ballomp to Wiggleroom Gardens. That makes them likely as this week's release. This includes Drama Llama, the region I made a joke about when people were talking about drama llamas, but it fell flat because nobody else knew there was a region with that name. Please put out popcorn machines if you get this one.
  11. Mesh models are the only upload that isn't free. People say textures, but it's the rest of the ones that otherwise cost L$10 as well. The free price also works if you use the bulk upload option. They stated that they wanted to make models free, but had issues as it's a different pricing system.
  12. There are times when the land isn't paid for by the owner, but the automatic system hasn't taken it back. Land claimed a long time back and group land sometimes ends up in this situation. A ticket might work in those cases. But most of the time, people are still paying. They're just not logging in.
  13. The majority of houses in the release were not ticketed. Some of the ticketed houses were quickly dropped and picked up by someone else. It took some days for most of the houses to fill (and looks to be getting slower with every houseboat release). So you might as well keep trying for houses in releases if you find it fun.
  14. The last party I went to was the Fallen Gods Fishmas party, where we hit each other with fish. People talked in local. This is normal for parties in my experience (talking in local, rather than the fish). It's also normal for things like DJ sessions at big events like Fantasy Faire. Which is why you get puzzlement when you ask people, because those who mainly do parties and big events are used to people talking in local. It's weird to imagine that clubs are all in IM. People who go to clubs are used to everything being in IM, so don't believe anyone talks in local. A clubber who wants to chat has the choice of either waiting for the clubs to change or trying some things outside of the clubs. I wouldn't get too hung up about local chat though. Groups are still one of the best ways to meet people, because you don't have to be in the same place and you don't have to carry the whole conversation. Groups that are very social also tend to be the ones to hold parties where people talk to each other (and possibly hit each other with fish).
  15. I have a whole bunch! Though my decor berrie nightgaunt from a previous gift has gone missing, which was sad (I still have the huggable one from that set).
  16. The forum doesn't always represent what's going on inworld, but this is not one of those times. You also lived through the era where we'd be spammed with bite requests everywhere. That game had to redesign the system to avoid strangers being harassed by players. Your idea isn't going to fly without a redesign, because it encourages the same behaviour. Realistically, it's never going to happen as an official thing, whether you rework the idea or not. But you could launch it as a game if you wanted. A lot of potential issues will go away by making it opt-in and requiring the HUD to play.
  17. It's odd that people think it'd help creators. I spend most of my time standing on a build grid or wandering about sorting stuff on my own. I talk in groups, but I'm not out at clubs every night. So I'd only get upvoted during events like Fantasy Faire, where I actually go to parties. This system would mostly benefit people who spend most of their time clubbing and presumably the clubs holding the parties. Anyway, I see it going about as well as the forum reactions. Which means people would complain constantly about their score. I'm not surprised that I haven't seen people being nostalgic about this until now.
  18. Cerridwen's Cauldron has a nightgaunt plushie gift, if you're looking for something more eldritch. In things to buy, I got a little cat sign for my KittyCats area from Sparrows Nest. I'm planning to get the decor bunny fatpack from BananaN. I don't mind pink or hearts, but I'm not interested in romantic sayings or furniture with cuddle animations. That's probably going to cut out a lot of the decor gifts once I have a look at them. But I got a whole bunch of free cars to crash into houses and a few new pets, so I can't really complain.
  19. It's not the first time you've said it and you've been clear in the past that you have a thing about the fantasy area. If other people didn't notice before, they'll remember the next time. A theme not being full doesn't mean it's a failure. It means they got the number of houses about right, as there were enough for the initial demand and room for future growth without needing to build more. Which should be good news for you, because it means they focused on things like making sure there were enough houseboats and making the continent links. There's a lot of stuff that's been added for people who like sailing and no reason to think they won't end up completing the coastline.
  20. People can like or dislike themes as they want. It's more that blaming a theme that was finished ages ago for the log coast not being done, and requesting that theme be destroyed to make way (because everyone hates it anyway), is not where it's at. It's bitterness for the sake of being bitter. Not that I think people should blame any of the other eleventy billion projects that have happened since fantasy either. The build order is never going to please everyone.
  21. It seems like it just stopped scripts running rather than changing/deleting them. Hopefully everything will reboot as they roll everything back.
  22. It bricked a lot of scripted pets. Clearly they need to buy a bunch of kitties and horses for their test regions. Fortunately, doesn't seem to have impacted the region where I keep mine.
  23. They don't need to destroy one area you don't like much to build the area you really want. It's time they're lacking for getting all the things done at once. I know there's a lot of hate for the fantasy area on the forum, but plenty of people live there and like it. Some themes just might not be for you.
  24. I had to take a break to get ready for events, but I had time today and found Dyna Mole's card. I found more of the ones from before, but no other new cards. Abnor must bulk buy wallets to deal with dropping so many.
  25. Most of them are map ghosts from previous work. When you're zoomed in enough to see region names, but they don't have a name, there isn't really a region there. The only other big chunk remaining is the pink one, which is sakura. There are also some odd regions that are most likely things like community regions, but I'm not seeing any new action on those. The new black bit is recent though and it seems even more likely it's a void fill given the Victorian one has begun.
