  3. Contacting Support alerts the Engineers to possible Region(s)/Grid issues because they can look at the Server logs as soon as possible. If it's a network connection issue between the Resident computer and the LL Servers then this can be discussed/investigated on an individual basis and with privacy. Like many issues, how much of this is bug(s) in the Server/Viewer code or a combination of a Graphics intensive programme run on many, many different computer setups and using (less than perfect) network connections ?
  4. This issue was also reported on pJIRA (???) (???) instead of an object's group name and was discussed at Monday's Bug Triage. The pJIRA issue was Resolved - Contact Support for them to investigate the Group/Region and escalate to Engineering if it's more than an individual issue. Clearing your Second Life Cache , your Browser Cache Edit > Preferences > Web tab, Group Cache Advanced Menu > Clear Group Cache and/or Restarting the Region can help.
  5. Landz, you can find the location of your Cache from the Edit > Preferences menu, which is available from the login screen. Go to Edit > Preferences > Network tab Network tab Disk Cache Location - Click Set to specify the location of your cache, and Reset to reset the cache location to the system default.
  6. Hello Landz, before you log into Second Life, pleaseClear the Cache from Outside Second LifeLog in and let your Inventory fully load. Please see this article in Knowledge Base Why do I look like a particle cloud? (Formerly known as: I've suddenly and unexpectedly turned into an ugly woman.) You also appear as a cloud when some information about you gets lost on the way from one place to another. However, you are not stuck this way permanently! See the following steps for help on restoring yourself to normal: From your main menu, click Edit > Preferences > Graphics tab. Slide the Quality & Performance slider to a lower setting. Check the box next to Custom on the Graphics tab. Move the Draw distance slider to the left. Slide the Mesh Details sliders to Low. Avatar Impostors is checked by default. If you have unchecked it, activate that feature again. Additional helpful techniques: Log out and restart Second Life (relog). Right-click yourself, select Appearance, do NOT save anything, and click Close. If those don't work, try the following process: Access and wear a default avatar. Re-wear your normal shape, skin, clothes, and attachments. This step is much easier if you are using a pre-existing saved outfit, but remember not to save anything before your avatar is restored!. Tip: If you tried all of the above, and your avatar is still a cloud, submit a ticket to our Support team for assistance. This article gives useful information about How can I improve performance ? and this one will show you how to get detailed information about the performance of your computer and the Second Life world Statistics Bar Guide Hope this helps

  9. Hello Lark, please see the Knowledge Base article How to report an underage Resident in Second Life Second Life for adults, also known as "the Main Grid", requires that all Residents be 18 years or older, as stated in section 2.2 of our Terms of Service. We take the problem of underage Residents very seriously. If you find someone under 18 years of age who shouldn't be on the Main Grid, here's what you need to do: First, make sure they've actually admitted their underage status within Second Life, in their own words in chat. For example, "I'm 14" is clear evidence. We can't accept hearsay or rumors, so "I heard that so-and-so is a young teen" or "That griefer behaves like they belong on the Teen Grid!" don't count. "Confessions" on external instant messaging programs or any areas outside of Second Life itself can't be investigated either. Inworld, use Help > Report Abuse to bring up the abuse reporter tool. Click Select category and choose Age. Enter the required information as indicated, and please be specific. If you recently heard an underage admission in chat, copy-and-paste the snippet into the Details field. If it happened earlier and you don't have a chat record, just recite as much as you remember to help us know what to look for. Click the Report Abuse button and our Abuse Team will investigate it and take appropriate action. Thanks for your help. In most cases, teens found on the Main Grid will be transferred to Teen Second Life, and their inventory will be cleared. This is done to discourage "shopping accounts" created for the purposes of bringing stuff across grids. Accounts found to be 12 years or younger are too young to be on any version of Second Life, sorry. If you're between the ages of 13-17 and somehow ended up on adult Second Life, please contact a Mentor on Help Island and let them know firsthand that you'd like to be moved to the correct grid. If you think it would be funny, you can also file an Abuse Report against yourself, with your name and age. Your honesty is appreciated, and we hope you'll make lots of new friends while having fun in Teen Second Life! Hope that helps : )
  10. Thank you Danridar for your feedback. The issue has been reported to the documentarians dealing with age verification information.

  12. Hello Danridar, please see the Marx's reply to this Question and the links to the Knowledge Base articles. If you are asking this Question because you cannot access a specific Region, please see this article I can't get into the land It has very helpful suggestions. I've previously put money on Xstreet SL from a bank-account linked Paypal account, which I believe said was a verified account, (twice infact only to remove it later) And I never got verified. This should have confirmed that you are Adult-verified. Please make sure you have set your Maturity preferences I've also recently went premium which is supposed to be auto-verified. Though I did this through the side bar and not the link inside the Verification page when Aristotle's Integrity decides you don't exist. Upgrading your Account to Premium membership does not automatically Adult (How to become verified as an adult) or Age verify (Age Verification FAQ) your Account. But Premium membership does give you access to Live Chat and I have always found them very helpful. If you cannot find the answers to your questions in Knowledge Base, they will be happy to give you help and advice. Hope this helps

  14. Hello Chakalak, from the article in Knowledge Base Preferences Window Guide L$ Change Threshold - If you send or receive L$ in a transaction that's equal to or greater than this value, you'll hear a cha-ching! sound. Health Change Threshold - If you lose health equal to or greater than this value in a damage-enabled area, you'll hear a painful grunt. For more details about damage-enabled areas please see How can I find a combat region? Hope this helps
  15. Hello Gac, looking at the Second Life Wiki article All keyboard shortcut keys, and as far as I know, there doesn't seem to be a shortcut to Rename in the Inventory Window. Also see Keyboard shortcut keys and Second Life Viewer Cheat Sheet by Kippie Friedkin There is an ongoing project looking at new shortcuts across the different Operating Systems Shortcuts SL-UX If you would like to suggest a new shortcut please see pJIRA pJIRA is a tool for residents to file new features requests as well as bug reports (The "P" stands for Public.) An overview and common questions about pJIRA can be found in the Creating bug reports and feature requests in the Public Issue Tracker To submit a new feature The process is similar to submitting a bug, with the following differences: Select "New Feature" instead of "Bug" as your Issue type. Instead of a description how to reproduce, instead clearly describe the desired implementation and functionality that you would like in the new feature. Make sure it hasn't already been done — you can read our blog to learn more about what we're doing next. Please see the linked issues on the pJIRA Meta-Issue: Shortcut Issues

  17. Hello Whet, you posted a reply on Any further update on the A.C. Migration? where there's links to the latest Official Information. Blue Linden commented on A Zindra Update: More Land on the way! ... since the doors opened we have had 700 requests for a move to Zindra and have been working hard to process those as fast as we can ... We are processing the tickets in the order they arrived and you can be assured that commenting on a ticket will not drop you down the list. Jul 7, 2009 5:41 PM Blue Linden says: Going to close this one after 5-ish days and remind folks that you can use the Support Portal for specific Zindra and Adult Content related questions (be sure to use the Land and Region Issues ticket type).
