  1. Is it possible that the bots had that rented skybox already set to "home" and so begin their journey there? In which case is it possible the bots are owned and operated by the person you are renting from, and they serve a purpose that somehow helps the landlord maintain records or count land impact or whatever else landlords do? I don't know, myself; but those are questions to ask the landlord. Owning your own land is a great idea of course, but then even if you owned your own parcel on the mainland (or even a parcel in Bellisseria) there is always the possibility that someone set "home" to that parcel first, a while back; so you might always encounter at least one person who logs in to where you live. It's a possibility anyway. If the bots are intrusive on a regular basis and neither the landlord nor you can figure out where they come from after much investigation, you can always report them through the proper reporting channels. I would hope that your landlord would try at least a little bit to get to the bottom of this with you.
  2. I was enjoying your "thank you" technique for a while there. Come to think of it, it feels like it's something you can say to anything, really. Even to people asking annoying RL questions. I have this wonderful mental image of Jeff Goldblum hearing questions he has no intention of answering, saying "Thank you," and just wandering off to do the next thing, and everybody in the room simply accepting it as the way things go.
  3. If the house is unowned and says "Linden Home" and the region isn't an SSP region, it's fair game for ticketing.
  4. Yes, but the stories would be impossible to go into great detail about here. However, the method I use for accepting involves great distance. I distance myself from whatever I perceive to be the friction or the impasse. I observe it from the point of view of other people, other observers of the problem. Nevermind how I see it or the other party sees it -- how would third, fourth, fifth, sixth parties see it? And then I realize how many differences there really are, and that I am such a small, small part of the whole "Difference Soup." So, some distance is required; some empathy (i.e. looking at things from many other perspectives, not just the two involved); and then to begin the long journey of accepting that there ARE differences without necessarily accepting the differences themselves. In other words, "it is the mark of an educated mind to entertain a thought without accepting it," evolves into "It is the mark of an accepting mind to note the great many differences, to select the ones that resonate with oneself at this stage in one's life, and to simply let live the others at a great distance if they simply cannot be improved upon." Also happy birthday!
  5. for sure it would be interesting to know if he plays that game. Now I really want to know what that game is!!

  7. This, then. If the stalker is STILL finding you? I'm assuming the stalker is still finding you even now, so I will say, please make sure you have treated your son's PC with an anti-spyware service and a general malware blocker. And in my family, if it were me, I would also make sure it wasn't actually my son or his friends playing pranks on square little old me.
  8. I hope you live in a place where you have choices and options for internet service providers. One time, I switched EVERYTHING -- service provider, modem, router, computer, cables, EVERYTHING. I fixed the problem that I was having and it was very good after. Maybe that is an option for you, sometime? I hope you find a good solution and you are able to enjoy your first and second lives again.
  9. I don't "do" shopping huds; I enjoy shopping. I haven't been curious enough to even try this latest.
  10. Maybe it's time to visit Help Island and relearn the basics? How to get from place to place and not be lost. How to do things without so many mistakes. Have as many Second Chances as you wish in your Second Life; just don't hurt others.
  11. I find I enjoy neighbours a lot more if they're actively trying to be good neighbours and it's something that's important to them, as it is to me. I could be surrounded by a dozen such people and count myself happy and fortunate. That said, I think a dozen is plenty and I'd prefer as few as possible; I won't buy a plot on the mainland if the region is consistently hosting 20 avatars at all hours. I am more apt to purchase on the mainland if there are 0-5 avatars on the region at any one time, which I happily did this season and love it there.
  12. I REALLY LIKE WHAT WE CAN DO WITH SKIES AND LIGHT SO A SPECIFIC PLACE ITSELF HAS A GENERAL ENVIRONMENTAL MOOD BEFORE ANYBODY EVEN SAYS A WORD.
  13. I know what you mean. It IS liberating. It's been my experience that my female persona used to get more random solicitation than my male persona (and now no solicitation at all YAY) but the kind of solicitation has always without exception been about photography. Whether just photography or "photography nudge nudge" I have no idea; I didn't entertain any offers either way.
