  1. This is a technical CYA for Phoenix users; plenty have already gone over 26 groups without enabling in Debug settings. The Phoenix developers are saying please do this as Phoenix is a Snowglobe-based TPV, and changing the setting will ... just ... make sure everything doesn't go blooey (I believe blooey is the technical word). Adding my thanks for the raised limit; the "extra" 2 groups is some nice lagniappe from the Labs and surely a bit of geek humor? As, come on, we *all* thought the same thing with "42" ... (In case you didn't know, 40 groups *was* the planned limit.) And the sim crossings: hooray. Not glamorous but necessary.
  2. Welcome to SL. I'm really pleased to see that in-world you've done exactly what I urge newbs to do - experiment with building. As I'm sure you've found (!) SL is set up differently, in its underlying design, from other MMOs, and that is to allow residents to make the world itself - the prim is essentially the basic unit of our world. Of course this has caused probs bringing in mesh etc etc - but it was made this way so that your basic player - aka, forevermore, resident - could just come in and build stuff. And that's worked out pretty well - and you've picked up on the basic tools of SL pretty quick! LSL in particular is a basic but powerful language, what can be done with it is pretty amazing. Anyway, like others I take heart you've actually gotten inworld and seen *why* we're all here, why your job, this company, even exists ... keep coming in, as you've found, the natives are pretty friendly! :^) To join the chorus of invites, I'm on the staff of the Chateau of Versailles inworld, we are currently doing a rebuild and expansion but you are most certainly welcome to come and visit us anytime. I'd also recommend another baroque-era project, the Duche de Coeur - one of the owners is an EA alumna and another was an award-winning designer for The Sims Online, it's a beautiful and, more importantly, well-used and well-loved place.
