    please,  and don't talk to me like I'm new, I've been in SL for a long *****ing time.  I hate when people say "well have you considered this might not be for you" line. Freaking pathetic  It's feature most online media has, you can hide, block and disappear from some and not others if you want or maybe you just want to log in one night and not be bothered. Telling people to stop doesn't work for everyone and the block feature doesn't' work for people who aggressively create accounts for hours on end or have found you offline or know how to circumvent the limited options already in SL and there's no protection from the lindens no matter how many abuse reports you file, even when people violate rules that would get banned in any other place but SL. I'm not going to explain it to you. It's a feature I'd like though. What's it matter to you? Maybe it would keep you from stalking whoever you stalk ? 

     

    Besides people can do whatever they want in SL with their time. This isn't and MMO where you have to group up to all take on anything. Are you saying you make the rules up and I can't enjoy SL  alone on occasion if I want? Sometimes it's fun to log in and just do things alone, focus on a project or whatever, I know a lot of people who are the same way.

    Is there a head either Lelutka or CATWA HDPro that would be a good replacement for the Catya.

    I had Catya back when i was bouncing through a couple of other heads trying to figure which one I could get to work, but was never truly happy.. I think i was bouncing from Logo to LAQ to Catya, then back to one or the other trying to get something to work and it all felt very forced..

    When the Genus beta came along and I tried it, I got this tingle up the back of my neck and I just knew  it.. The bad thing was, I had demoed the head and was going to go and get the beta.. But before I could go back and get the beta, they had closed the beta for what felt like 6 months.. hehehe

      I literally missed it by that much! So I had to wait until the second beta, but I waited.. I fell in love with the classic and the babyface and thought they were the best thing since ice water, even though you had to troubleshoot a lot of things..

    Then down the road Lelutka was giving away The Lilly head, which everyone was like  free head!!\o/  I went and got one because it was free, but still a genus loyalist and only getting it because it was free and figured why not..

    Soon as i put that head on , I fell in love with it and really haven't changed since  it came out..

    I think if you try and force things when you are happy already, you'll never truly be happy..

    For me these kind of changes have really only ever felt right when they have came to me rather than me forcing them.

    But that's me and how things work right for me.. I'm sure it's not an across the board thing.. hehehehe

     

    You make perfect sense Cheka. Probably the most sense anyone ever has made to me in forever. Coincidentally I use  Lilly too but I never can find the exact eyebrows, skin and nose combo I like, plus eyelids though that last one is easier to obtain then the nose and eyebrows. I also found that the cheeks and chin don’t work well for shading and 90% of the skins people make, and make them for Avalon is what they seem to do. I’ve also been stuck on the evo skin option since nothing has worked for/with evox for me, yet my biggest mission has been to find an evox skin I like, almost my immediate task each night I log into SL besides making something to completely hide my avatar. This is no exaggeration, but I’ve lost nearly all my friends because of this insane captain ahab, near monomaniacal skin/head quest I am on.

    My advice to you?  If you miss your Catya so much, then go back to using her.   Who gives a flying flip what anybody else thinks, or trying to keep up with the current "new thing"?  That gets to be so tiresome.  Secondlife is a place where we can be anything we want to be, and if wearing your Catya makes you happy, then wear her.  You'll enjoy your secondlife so much more.

    Some of if not most of my favorite hair didn’t fit well and as someone into makeup nothing new was released for it. I don’t like lelutka at all or admire their heads much but it is what it is I guess. Maybe eventually I’ll stumble into the 00000000.001 combination  of head and skins I like. It’s been years though.  It’s funny though in that pic of catya that skin looks better than half of the evox skins I’ve demo’d  in that massive  folder of stuff. I wish someone made nice shaped brows that weren’t super close together or looked obvious mismatches on most skins I’ve tried. I think fleur was almost the closest but the nose seems super emphasized unless you make it abnormally small.

    Is there a head either Lelutka or CATWA HDPro that would be a good replacement for the Catya.

    If you're starting with Catya and want a very similar-looking upgrade, take a look at MajerSoft. With a good skin, I can see that working quite well. 

    With MajerSoft, you'll get a similar nose and mouth to Catya. I'll post examples below. The last one's not a Flickr link as I couldn't get it to embed properly, grr. I'll add the actual link to her Flickr post so you can see the credits below the photo.

    I deeply miss Catya so, so much, but I wanted to use new makeups and hair that wasn’t fitting right on that old head so I switched to lelutka evox (though I’m using the evo part only) and I’ve never enjoyed SL really since. The top pic of that head is close to how I used to look and still want to while staying current but it’s next to impossible to find those cleaner skins with those nice eyebrows that aren’t a bushy mess on the right head, believe me I’ve tried, tooo much. I gave a folder dedicated to 8 evo x heads that consists of 168,000 elements of me trying new skins or shapes with and I just can’t achieve it enough to end the struggle. I see people sugggest Avalon but the eyes are limited to what I did with catya and the way the nose sits against the forehead is not correct. Plus finding a detailed skin with the right brows together has never been something I can do.  There’s several boxes that need to be checked off. I wish I could do it so I could enjoy SL again. I’m at the point I’m making armor to hide everything because I have nothing that resembles me right really.

    It’s really not harder at all. I can rig 100s of times to maitreya entirely new clothing with precision that I can wear multiple mesh items with clipping. Especially tights with any heels, any skirts or dresses. It bothers me how people won’t fix some clipping issues I can fix faster than logging into gta 5.

    Stockings, nylons, pantyhose.. what are the options?

    I like those a lot to but they do clip on the feet on Maitreya and legacy at the suggested sizes. A lot of places do (except the ones I make). It's frustrating.  I wish Rouly would fix it on both those bodies, Maitreya more since most of my clothing is there. I know it can be fixed, I know with my very life it can. I've made stockings that fit perfectly, no clipping and work with all the other heels creators' stuff in SL, or at least about 14 places I buy from.

    I haven't released anything yer and I got the kit on my first try. The creator is really nice. The body is also super easy to rig for over the only other alternative Legacy, at least for me. I have no issues rigging for Maitreya.  I can make a similar and highly detailed but optimized  version any outfit that someone wants that's on another body from scratch  and a lot more detailed if anyone is looking for something specific for maitreya.  I have legacy too but I don't use it much and it's not just the hud I dislike.

    Should I keep buying for my old Catwa head?

    Catya is definitely the best head for me too. I own 5 of the lelutka heads and there is some weird shadows, strange slider choices, not as feminine features as I'd have expected or just the look I want is mixed between 3-4 different lelutka heads.  so it never works out. Genus had the same problem for me but also the eyes and noses.

    I wish the genus cheeks were more scalable, the  jaw line too (jaw angle does nothing)  and noses were better, zero personality other than strong which is the exact opposite of what I want. I do like the heads (own all of them) but those things bother me the most as I can’t get the exact look I want or even remotely close.  At the moment catwa seems dead and leltuka’s features aren’t delicate enough for me... actually neither are genus. It’s depressing though to see just new releases  for those heads at events, it’s cut my time in SL down by almost 90% and the friends I had gave up on me I think because I just don’t feel myself enough to even log in. Hopefully genus does some different features with their next heads and more scaling with the sliders so I can make something that I like, catwa does a whole new line or someone new makes heads that become incredibly popular!

    and by delicate features I didn’t mean the baby heads, those are the opposite of what I want too. I meant more fine/small noses But perfectly straight for example with no bumps or extended nose tips , normal cheeks and a soupçon of Barbie.

    The nose still bothers me even on the new head free head. it's frustrating catwa is the only place that has my nose. I've demo'd every head in sl and tired every skin and then forgot about it, then tried them all again. I can sort of make my own skins too at this point but the problem is not with the skins it's those noses at least with genus and the cheeks too. They never get the combo right for what I want and It's just so far removed from how I look.   Hopefully a new head comes along that does what Catwa Catya did but higher detail.

    Here is a link to BOM hairbases...this one looks kind of interesting.   This is the first I've seen of them.  

    BOM hairbases do seem needed...this one may be a little too sparse for some.  I had in the past tried other hair bases and for blondes or white hair the hair bases did not look all that good imo.

    I have pink hair so it's never worked  great for me, so much tinting to make various creators different version of pink work. I have probably every hairbase you can find,  but I can also make my own.  I feel like playing on a 4k monitor makes all of this is even more noticeable.  I really need to clean my inventory out after all this trial and error.  I think just over the past 4 months of me trying Genus my inventory grew another 230,000 items. Sadly all of that was me trying to fix things and nothing I'll keep. Some hairbases work okay for some hair but there's a quite a few Lamb, 2018/2019 Doux,  and a couple Magicka and some other places where it's just not something easily fixed. Several were closer to my real hair than a majority of the newest hair I've bought.  All of those worked fine on Catwa obviously since I used that head with them and even demoing Lelutka.  The one thing Genus has is that larger upper head that is the main problem but even if the hair fit the head itself or blended well with a hairbase, there is still the noses (and cheeks) and as someone else said somewhere the sliders could correct it but the range on them across several digits doesn't even move.

    I'd say to the OP if you have the extra money to blow...it's your money.

    I wish there were more mesh heads in general.  I got a couple of free ones as a limited promo but those free ones are very difficult to find skins for etc and the skin they come with has no life to it at all, is very flat and really looks like a doll.  

    When I was completely new to mesh heads, both were a disaster.  However, I personally thought the Catwa hud was easier to understand as a complete newbie than the Genus hud.  But, since you already know about huds and aren't a newbie, I don't think the huds are too much of an issue for you.  Plus, it sounds like there are good work-arounds.  

    Maybe find a picture of what you are looking for here and ask for guidance because otherwise it could just lead to hours of frustration.

    I'm not crazy with the way the hair is sitting (in some of the photos) here of Genus, but Catwa can have issues with hair not sitting right too.

    To tell you the truth, I've Photoshopped the hair to fix photos many a time.  

    p.s.  Edit to Add:  The new Magika hairs can help some of these hair issues if I recall correctly.  On MP, just pick NEWEST FIRST from the drop down window to look at new Magika hairs in the Magika store.  

    The hair issue does need some better work-arounds for the blonde and white hairs especially.  Magika may be one solution people could look into.  

     

    I actually know all this stuff I probably spend more time with shapes and customization than the average person. My post count is low but I've been on SL since Teen Grid SL.  I usually make my avatars resemble me and other than Catwa and a very specific skin that took years to find, nothing currently works. Genus looks way wrong because of the noses (every pic it's evident), cheeks, noses, eyes and noses, and the giant foreheads that makes hair not fit right, always problems the hairstyles that resemble mine the most.  I can continue to use Catwa I just wanted an upgrade.

    I’m not a fan of the animations, and have finally defaulted to using either the Vista Elena AO with Genus facial animations, or the Vista Facial AO with the Vista Miriam AO. 

    The nose bothers me too. I also have a very straight nose for real and that's easy to get with Catwa, but not with genus, not in a way where it looks anything like how I want it to. I don't like how it makes a lot of hairstyle I love, unusable because of how big the top of the head is. Yes I know I can smash the head so it looks even less like me but even like that, the hairline and quite a lot of hair looks strange. Hopefully something new comes along and I hope it's  from someone new or Catwa. Genus feels very GENeric to me and lacks personality and I don't just mean the actual  heads, although I do mostly mean the actual heads!

    I thought about doing that but in the end for my specific situation I don't think they'll take his computer away from him. He'll still come in SL. I don't think he stalks anyone but me and I saw his entire police record, he really puts a lot of hours into it. His whole life it seems is lived online. I guess I could do it Monday. This isn't a new issue it's a long time running problem, I think an 8 year one now that is so exhausting because of the amount of effort I put into trying to get anyone to help and listen. This even extended outside of SL into other games. I'm pretty sure he had a spy on my Steam account (Steam did hard ban him from friending me according to them because he made threats to end his own life if I didn't talk to him) but I deleted all those people a few years ago. Now I just keep people I know offline on my list. Just thinking about this again is bad. It started out as a pet peeve on here and now I'm thinking about it again and It really does affect me barely going in SL these days.

    Well I did report this to the police in 2017 and got an investigator (they contacted linden labs who did nothing over the course of 10 months or so) and they told me who it was and what state they live in and I know everything about them now, more than they'd ever know about me but I don't really know what to do with that. They continue to bother me and I'm kind of scared for various reasons at this point to do anything but ignore them which doesn't seem to help. I'm not sure how to proceed with it. I pretty much gave up logging into sl anymore other than for 5 minutes at obscure hours.  This person also stalked me intensely on flickr with mere text. No one cared about anything he said but it stopped me from using and enjoying that too.  I just feel like I can't go into sl without being monitored or do anything online with any known nicknames I go by.     Oh I have deleted and blocked them 100s of times. This person has made 100s of accounts and they probably are tracking me via the uuid. I probably should have said that before. They not only track me but my friends and the times they log in.  They message on new accounts, numerous within minutes and I block and eventually they give up but then track me anyway on a new one, they even did track an alt once though it was for holding gacha stuff and not a name anyone would have known and at the time they tracked it, it was in a private sim alone. There's a lot of stuff they do out of SL too I just don't want to go into all of that.

    There is no fix for this person. I've sent harassment tickets to LL for every alt they made to contact me. This has been happening for a LONG time. I started SL as a teen and now i'm late 20s and pretty much that entirety they've not gone away, I've blocked countless alts.  The sheer amount of alts I've blocked of theirs is more tiresome than a mmorpg grind in a free to play game.

    I'd do that but I'm not buying all my favorites again and SL shouldn't be like that to begin with. That stalking and harassment is not acceptable anywhere even in indie multiplayer games I play, but in SL for some crazy reason, it is.     I don't like when people instantly message me the VERY second when i log in as if i logged in without any plans of my own just for them. Then I tell them and they still keep talking to me. I pretty much stopped going in SL because of this very reason.  It's fine if it's someone who is a new friend and doesn't know me too well and eventually I like to talk to people after I've done the things I wanted to do, but not that very second I log into SL and I hate when people know I dislike it and still continue to do it.  Then when I tell them I dislike it I get the "you just say that to me but you're probably talking to  your "real" friends" line.  If I use the offline feature i get in trouble too as if I committed some crime wanting privacy. As I said I almost never go into SL anymore over this and one  specific person doing this to me.
