    And the next week another person needs to send his bot because he needs to detect the direction of the wind in the region. And the next week another person needs to come and measure the size of female avatars. And the next week another one needs to come and check the partner status of avatars in a region to detect for how long Second Life avatars remain partnered on average. And then the ban list gets full. And while the ban list a getting fuller people become more annoyed and the quality of their experience as a land owner deteriorates. If you do anything it is important to make sure you do not bother others. People have been incredible tolerant towards bots for a very long time. A bit earlier today I see this lady making a post here on the forums, why should this lady be bothered like that on her land? It is her land and she should not be bothered by weird visitors. If you use an approach which negatively impact others and continue with your approach you are being selfish.

    Bots want data, Linden Lab has the data. If Linden Lab feels like sharing data they can write an API with the type of data they wish to publicly share and doesn't affect resident privacy, parcel privacy, Object privacy. Then content creators or gatherers of statistics can plug into that data through an API.

    Well if enough people ask Linden Lab might do it. Also people who are renting land on a private Estate can simply ask their Estate company or Landlord to switch on this function, it is not even needed to Restart the region.

    After the server update yesterday I was curious to see if any progress was made regarding the testing of the scripted agents restriction. I just tested this new function now and it appears to have been implemented on the standard Second Life server code. I even made a pretty picture of it. Here you have the full tutorial Scripted Agent Estate Access FAQ - deny_bots setting : Linden Lab (freshdesk.com) For those who want to block scripted agents aka bots entering their region or sim or Homestead here is the easy to follow version. 1. In the Second Life viewer you need to select the Developer Menu. 2. You select the consoles option in the Developer Menu 3. You select Region Debug Console (not the Debug Console but the REGION DEBUG CONSOLE) 4. In the new window which you see above you type this: Set deny_bots TRUE 5. To verify you did it correct you type this: Get Deny_bots this will give you a confirmation that you activated the setting. I do not think a sim restart is needed after activation. *If you do not see the Developer menu in your viewer you press CTRL + ALT + Q This is an informational post to make people aware of this new feature, please don't post meaningless replies of anything off topic. Thanks to @Linden Lab to implement this in a timely manner.

    You appear to be suffering from an issue where you perceive everything as a personal attack on yourself and need to constantly defend yourself even when you have no reason to do so. I make a reference to the TOS to show you that collecting and harvesting data on Second Life users was never allowed in the first place and you call this spamming. Anger management is a beautiful thing, let me round up the conversation with you like that.
