  1. I'm still not sure on having delete protection on key value pairs, If my scripts are trying to clear datastore space by removing crud that it can't identify, it shouldn't require wiping its own records in the process.
  2. Then what's the point of a protected delete function?
  3. Why would you prevent the user from deleting keys and recover storage on objects they own?
  4. Didn't read the whole thread, but I see that the usual suspects are pushing for ridiculous feature creep again.
  5. They are already dipping their fingers in the jar every step of the way.
  6. DMCA takedowns are free and usually do the job if what you want is for them to "stop".
  7. That is incorrect, the vrchat community standards are fairly specific: The wording is not an accident, it is intentional.
  8. You should avoid using any lossy format, all you can really "optimize" on textures is whether they have an alpha channel, and their dimensions. Obviously, the smaller, the better.
  9. When it comes to rendering there IS no such thing as a sharp edge, only two colocated vertices with different normal orientations. Modeling programs simply go with the assumption that modelers are not interested in the post-split vertex count, which will change constantly, but rather by the effective, total number of control points the model has.
  10. Typically, you want to avoid double siding your model if you can avoid it since it effectively doubles the polygon count just to add a surface that is barely visible. Unless you really cannot get around it, a good approach is to extrude the edge of sleeves (for example) into an inverted cone shape that will clip into the mesh body when worn, fill the gap, and give the illusion of an underside surface, at a fraction of the polygon count.
  11. Is this a paid advertisement thing? That mesh body issue sure looks like one.
  12. That's because literally no one is going to agree with your reasoning, so the subject will keep coming up again, and again.
  13. Just because they demand it doesn't mean you are obligated to provide, they have desires, but you as the content creator know best on what is a reasonable expectation. Textures not being accounted in LI is a reflection of the "old days" of SL where Linden Lab simply did not care about anything but sim-side load, and since textures are ignored by simulators...
  14. By air gapping, I mean that unlike the email/MMS option, the token generator app approach means that the device holding the token generator can be completely offline, so long as its clock is somewhat accurate. mailboxes, mailservers, domain servers, phone numbers, in the right situation, can be hijacked. A device the attacker potentially has no way of accessing/spoofing? Not so much.
  15. Stylised also tend to hold the test of time a lot better.
  16. Just pick one body you like and make things for it. Stop trying to please everyone and try to enjoy what you are doing first and foremost. If people ask you "why don't you make things for body X" you can just tell them that you aren't making clothes for bodies that you do not use, and that they are allowed to have more than one body if they really want to wear your clothes.
  17. Well... there IS a short list of very high profile people I'd like to see disappear from SL for good... Wait that's not really in the christmas spirit isn't it.
  18. Alternatively, you can always "massage" the outfit around the body so it will fit, you have many tools in Blender at your disposition, sculpting, poly editing, lattices, etc...
  19. It also means you'll get no support if you have a problem since the person who sold you the product can't actually model
  20. My admiration gets regularly shattered anytime I eventually learn that a prolific creator I used to admire is just buying models made by others, probably paying them well below minimum wage.
