  1. Issue with inability to resize vewer window is fixed with upgrade to OS 10.9.1. All is well now.
  2. Well, I don't know what my options are. I can't get into MAINT-3135 to see if there's any work being done or if there are any workarounds. I see that the most recent beta viewer 3.7.0.285178 still has that issue open. Does anyone know if a Mac OS upgrade resolves this? Same issue in Firestorm as far as I can see. I guess this Cocoa thing is specific to Macs. I wonder what other Mac people are doing? It's very difficult using the little window, the build window is even cut off right aorund the rotation area so I can't see the whole tab. Very frustratiing.
  3. Yes, the other left AKA right where the little grooves in the window are. Sorry about that misdirection and thanks for trying
  4. With this upgrade, I cannot resize the viewer window by dragging the lower left corner. So I have this little bitsy window. I think the most recent viewer I was using was 3.6.1 and when I logged in today, I couldn't go any farther without upgrading. The release notes say that a known issue is "MAINT-3135- Cocoa Viewer: Mac: Maximizing the viewer leaves garbage on the screen". I can't view that issue. I don't know what that is about. It looks like the first time that issue appeared was in the release notes for the version right after the one I was using. Any advice on getting my window to resize? Thanks for help. 5. Thanks for your responses. I'm looking into upgrading to Snow Leopard. I guess it's time. In the meantime, I'm going back to the previous viewer version.
  6. I was hoping that this update would fix the World Map for me where ticking land-for-sale caused the sim tiles containing the parcels for sale to disappear. But in this update, none of the sim tiles display now whether i have land-fo-sale ticked or not. In addtion, some of the ground textures have changed. For example, grassy areas are now rocky, and the infamous Atoll coral is now grassy. Not sure how to proceed. The jiras about the map tiles that I found are marked resolved (but they haven't been resolved for me since October), and I don't see a jira about the ground textures. Here are the Map jiras: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/STORM-1678 https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/SVC-7267 Here's my computer specs: Second Life 3.2.4 (246439) Dec 8 2011 14:14:27 (Second Life Release) Release Notes You are at 258216.0, 259604.0, 21.4 in Thyris located at sim9154.agni.lindenlab.com (216.82.42.90:13000) Second Life Server 11.12.03.246118 Error fetching server release notes URL. 7. The SSL Handshake Failure issue was resolved for me when I installed the Beta viewer 3.1.0 (242289). The map issue is covered under this bug entry with no resolution yet: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-27032
  8. Thanks for that link Uriah. Like Lena, the handshake thing got worse for me too. I don't have a wireless connection but I'll try unplugging the modem and stuff just to do something. I'll probably have to open a support ticket or the jira thing.
  9. When I try to look at any profile, I keep getting an "SSL Handshake Failed" message. In World Map, the sims look fine until I tick Land Sale, then any sim that has a parcel for sale doesn't show - the sim is blue with just the for sale parcel showing in yellow. These two problems appeared after I upgraded to this viewer version. If you have any suggestions to fix this, I'd be grateful. 10. Qie, I wonder if you're remembering Susie's Little Ferry Service? I loved that little boat ride. She also had one on the interior Atoll waterways for a while. I think she had some RL things going on and wasn't able to maintain the route.
  11. Well, looking at that grid survey for Mainland, about 40% of Mainland is held by Linden Lab and of that, about 81% is protected land and presumably, permanent. Has anyone heard if Tyche will be doing another Mainland census?
  12. Ooooh, did I miss a Tyche Shepherd Mainland census? The last one I saw was in January. At that time, abandoned land had grown to about 7 - 8%. I'm eager to see how that changed with the new abandoned land policy. Oh, and Linden owned does not mean abandoned.
  13. Marianne, exactly. I haven't heard of any Linden parcel being cleared and sold, at least in the LDPW era when I started paying attention.
  14. Well, I don't know the backstory but I really can't picture Guy seizing LDPW land or any land for that matter! @Charlotte - glad you enjoyed the links
  15. There was a small LL park in Polkadot. Now it's cleared and set to sale to an individual by Guy Linden. The odd thing is that usually the LDPW parcels pretty much stay. Is this more common than I think? Here's the blurb about the park in the Wiki: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Heterocera_Network Here's the blog where I saw the news: http://blog.livedoor.jp/dualatoll/archives/1515221.html
  16. Arwen, it worked for me too. Thanks! Cinnamon, thanks for letting me know that you don't have the same problem with the Magnum channel. If still needed I'll open a ticket. Either way, I'll take your good advice and enjoy a beer on the patio.
  17. Up until a few days ago, I was able to delete objects that I had rezzed on my land. Today, I can't. I placed one object (a linkset with about 8 prims) some days ago, and two other linksets today. Can't delete any of them. I can move them around and do other things to them in edit mode. I have another parcel on the Blue Steel release and delete works fine. It's lag, right? If not, do I submit a jira? A support ticket? Or does RC Magnum have a different way to delete objects? I'm using the most recent generally available viewer Second Life 2.7.2 (233432) Jun 21 2011 17:17:16 (Second Life Release) Thanks for help that you can provide.
  18. Randall Ahren wrote: The main drawback of Hetorcera is that beach land has an unpleasant yellow color. You mean that toxic mix of blue and yellow? It's terrible! I love it! Did you know that it changes color throughout the day? It does. Sometimes it's a chalky washed-out non-color, then the blue takes over, and then yellow creeps in, then it starts over.
  19. I also think that the landing points should be removed and can't think of any reason to keep them as they are. It's a pain creating landmarks for points of interest and rez zones the way the landings are set now.
  20. Yeah, Yevad's maps are first-rate for the roads. Here's a spot for some Railroad maps: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Tuliptree/72/129/30 And here's a spot to get an airport map: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bretton/216/30/102
  21. I think the beach one is on the western coast of Big Gaeta. Found it, the Camp Site: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Squall/214/162/24
  22. Right now my favorite is the new Route 6 on the Atoll (Heteroetcetera :-D) continent. Perfect for horseback. You'll pass some good places where the public is welcome like Arches paragliding, and Simple's retreat way up the mountainside.
  23. Thanks for the Ad Farm and microplot policies. Those were biggies and much appreciated. I hope for a clear road ahead for you, Jack!
  24. oooooh, not that high yet! Tyche has abandoned land pegged between 6 and 7% in her latest Mainland census from a few weeks ago. And yeah, that amount has gone up with each census report.
  25. Some people just don't get why others of us want in-world mesh editors. It is simply the difference between those who like buildings in SL and those who like to build in SL. Thank you - that's how I feel. I was poking around in wireframe looking at a cube. I'm guessing an in-world mesh editor would sort of build on that where you could grab a vertex or a set of vertices and move them around. There would still be lots to learn though. Once I hollowed my wireframed cube I didn't really understand why the edges behaved the way they did. That's part of the problem with using an external editor and also part of the problem for novices like me. You're not in-world working with your familiar cube, you're wrestling with an unfamiliar application, and you have no idea of 3D concepts. I speak from experience LOL. Anyway, it's a done deal and I'll give it a shot.
