  1. For 9 years i used the standard non mesh body, and since one year its maitreya. There is no reason and no easy way to go back
  2. Whats wrong with them? I never would turn into a furry or any other animal styled avatar, but if someone likes that virtual lifestyle, let them do their thing. And talking about perfection: Once a wise person said: "The beauty and perfection of an avatar is directly linked to the uglyness and lack of self-confidence of the person behind the screen". Well, i also switched to a mesh body and head recently.
  3. Its not wrong at all. And i would love if it would become reality. But im a realistic person, and i doubt this is going to happen. You cant even "walk" from SL to Sansar, soo...
  4. My avatar being able to login to other platforms, grids and games? I still prefer believing in santa claus.
  5. Even though the fact its creeping the hell out of me to even think about roleplaying a rape or death scene: its their fantasy, and as long as there are only adults involved, they can roleplay whatever they want. Even if we both dont like it. Would you like to explain why it makes you happy, if you insult them?
  6. If you use the second life viewer, then just try something else. Firestorm, for example. That should do it.
  7. Sure, its her paradise. Sitting on the porch in front of the house on a nice summer afternoon. Watching the horse and smelling the flowers growing everywhere, while she stirs lost in thoughts in a half emptied cup of cappuccino. Well, thats not what i would call my personal paradise, but its a lovely alternative.
  8. Confirmed. This problem haunts me since almost 11 years. But like you said, its easy to fix with 2 clicks.
  9. Check that one out. https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/The-Real-Christmas-Tree/4169618 I didnt buy the christmas tree, but other stuff they offer. Just can say, its very very well made and it looks phantastic. I would recommend you to visit the inworld store. There you can see everything working.
  10. Same drama here. Its always annoying to mix at least 2 of that layers. But what is the "mask mode" made for? It solves the problem every time.
  11. Maybe my answer is also useless, but in germany we say: "Getroffene Hunde bellen". Means, you are protesting a bit too much, if you understand?

    change my avatar

There is sooo much to say and to write, but i would recommend you to take your "classes" inworld. Learning by doing... You could go to the new resident help area (Firestorm) wich you can find here: http://world.secondlife.com/place/3c3cbb34-3678-c36f-02a9-f5fa6bd0cb6c There you find a lot of useful advices for dressing or shaping yourself, and if you get stuck, just ask one of the 24/7 available friendly mentors.
  13. How does that work? As much as i know that ip thing changes every day. Or did i get confused with MAC?
  14. I think it says, you have to check your internet router. That numbers could be the ports which have to be accessible to make it work.
  15. No saved outfits at all. Its always like "Im changing, Ready in one sec, i promise" And thats likely to be repeated serveral times.
  16. Nah. The artist just has to place his avatars on the right spot to get the same requests (from other men).
  17. Right, understatement is not his biggest virtue. I wish, Skell or Vin would have showed him what a really decent built avatar has to look like.
  18. Like Phil already mentioned, everthing happens inside of our mind. And things like this may be very disturbing for some people, what i really can understand. You should give her some time to think about what she said, the way she said it, and how the forum responded, after the first shock vanished.
  19. The unintended avalanche you caused finds its way down the hill by itself. You could easily turn away and leave. But you should stay, because you can grow on contrary opinions and even on harsh comments. Chin up!
  20. Everyone wants to take a deep breath? @Asha Dont let Annas response affect you too much. You have your opinions, she has hers. Even though she could have chosen better words. So stay away from those sims and groups. I also find it creepy, but there is not a lot you can do about... just ignore it.
  21. Have you already tried to use the standard SL mesh skeleton instead of bento? Just to see, if that version works? Cant even find a similar problem using google, neither did i find a solution. Maybe you should go back to your initial suspicion, and do something about the scale or limb alignment. And, keep this thread alive. Its hard to imagine you are the first one experiencing this problem. I bet, there is someone out there who can tell you easily: Ahh, just click that button, right there!"
  22. thats right. If the bento avatar works in your mocap software, then SL also should display the movement correctly. But are you sure, you exported the bento avatar movement, instead of the movement from the source skeleton? Thats where i got stuck for quite a while: I exported to .bvh using the top left menu bar. But that just exported the data from the standard skeleton. I had to switch to another menu, where i could export the data explicit from the SL skeleton.
  23. Yeah, i think you need the right SL skeleton to make it work. The one you use may be simple, but who knows what it does? Where did you get it from?
