  1. I don't claim to know anything at all about computers and their workings, but the same email account I use for SL, and often get a phishing scam stating that my paypal address has shown signs of an attempt to break into it. Trouble is I don't have a paypal address, nor will I, but that doesn't stop the same phishing scam coming to me at least every week. The same as my Barclays account, my LLoyds account, my Halifax account etc etc stating those accounts have been hacked - sadly for those a little less stupid than me don't realise is that I don't have an account with any of those banks and there is no way in hell I'm going to open their little game. If it is a case of someone sending phishing scams you really shouldn't open them, even if you think they are from something legitimate as the first time you do you could be putting a trojan horse into your computer. You have to speak to LL asap, so they can at least do some checks if for no other reason but to tell you it isn't coming from them. Secondly, change all your passwords and stop opening emails that are obviously a scam.
  2. You say they are on your friends list, this person is most definitely not behaving like a friend so maybe its time for you to remove them. One less way of them finding you,
  3. Thank you all for your advice. I did have Phoenix and loved it but when I came back I had a message saying Phoenix was no longer in use. And being a pretty good technophobe and find most of it confusing. Also working on a laptap makes everything look squidgy. When I've finished moving and am settled again I shall give all of them a try so thank you all again.
  4. I've been out of SL now for more than a year. When I came back I found the programme I logged into was no longer in use and so I downloaded Firestorm but I find it a bit confusing to use. I haven't used the SL programme because I wanted the ability (just in case) to keep a collar locked in place, or cuffs and chains (for rp, a change of lifestyle etc) and I knew from a year ago that SL didn't have this ability. Is there another programme I'm not aware of that is close in use as, say, Emerald or the like. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  6. My card has just been renewed so didn't correspond with the one I used initially. That went on no problem, but this time it keeps telling me my card has failed, try again. I've done this now 6 or 7 times and still get the same response/, and whilst writing this a question has just popped into my head - do I have to have usable money on the account for this card? I can't remember having these problems when my original card was put on here. Is there a glaringly obvious answer to this problem that i'm just not seeing. Any help would be very grateful. I must just say I did this question on another forum area but can't remember which one, so I apologise for the duplication.
  7. Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I've been trying to get my card details on Jaz,. I answer all the questions, and when I hit submit I get the little circle that shows its thinking about it but after sitting here for 20 mins waiting for a notice to come up, I had nothing. I came out of Jaz then went back in to see if it had worked and it hadn't.. Can someone give me some advice of what to do. I did have an old card number on here, but the expiry date had passed so had to put in my new one. I might have made the mistake of cancelling the card, but I don't know. When things go quiet when I've entered my card number I always get a little suspicious that my card details are being taken and stored by someone other than the person who should have it. Any help would be absolutely appreciated.
  8. Thanks for your help everyone and I may have called it Firefox rather than Firestorm. I blame my age, I guess I'm going to have to keep trying it out. I liked the Phoenix. It'll take me a little while to get used to finding things on it but again, thanks for any and all your help.
  9. i've been out of SL for a while and was originally on Firefox (I think). But when I came to load up I couldn't on my original. I don't like the Second Life load up. I have one now (might be firefox - sorry but I take meds that mess my memory up. I've tried working it but I just can't find my way round it. Is there a less confusing but fantastic sign up company. I need to be able to use one that my collar is able with, I'm sorry if I sound confused, but I am.
  10. Is there a way of knowing or stopping your avatar from tping into a place naked. I've become a bit of a hermet because it seems to happen so often to me. I'm seeing myself fully clothed, dancers see me starkers and I don't know what to do to stop it finally. Thank you for your help
  11. I don't normally log on with V2 but thought I would give it a go. I've downloaded the latest version and I rez in as a white egg. I've tried taking off all my clothes, any AOs, leaving just my shape and skin on, logging out and back in, and still I'm an egg. I've tried Ctrl-Alt-R, nothing. What buttons do I mess with to rez in properly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou.
  12. I love shopping for new hair and recently whilst trawling the marketplace I've seen a few male hairs that I love (the longer, just got out of bed ones), but wonder if they are made differently so wouldn't be usable on a female avi. Can they be re-sized to fit a female (on the assumption that our lady heads might be a little smaller than mens) or would they look daft? Thank you Jaz xx
  13. @ kascha : its wonderful that this amazing place helped you through a really bad time, and that you came through it. I would imagine a lot of people came here for the same reason, to escape and heal themselves.
  14. I do feel a little sorry for all the users of RZ who genuinely believed what zFire had to say, and what he was doing on behalf of their inworld security, because not all of them thought of him as a god..they genuinely believed in his product. But to those who insisted that they could do what they wanted with people's information. I wonder how many people now think that zFire is a criminal.cheater.griefer.copybotter, afterall he has 14 alts connected to his IP address, and wasn't that their mindset if you had alts? Silly, silly people. the thing with 'successful' conmen is their ability to sell themselves as genuine. But did they genuinely, deep down in their gut think that if he was harvesting the innocents SL/IP information that he wouldn't be doing it to them to? Not only that but he has taken his clients trust and used it against them in the worse way possible. It seems the zFire has gone to ground and wont comment on the information gotten from his own web site. When he does no doubt he will claim the information gotten is fake *sighs* maybe now LL will do something about all these devices, not just his. And to all you RZ users who believed your god could do no wrong..you made people's lives in SL a living hell, you encouraged people to turn against innocent SL users, to abuse them, to humiliate them, you thought you were above everyone else. You played with fire and zFIRE burned you... *gets out sausages and marshmallows and happily sits roasting on the pile of RZ users currently burning in their own made hell*
  15. @cato "I usually find watching car-crash tv (jeremy kyle show, jerry springer) as a great way to reinforce that whilst I think I suck in life, I never suck that badly lol
  16. Occasionally, when I've been feeling a little down on myself I've looked at Jaz with her pert boobs, tight butt, flat stomach, beautiful make-up and thought..'right, gonna go to the gym, throw out my beloved pjs and go buy some sexy gear' and then reality kicks in, the washing machine's flooded the kitchen floor, the kitten's stuck up a huge tree lol I can't deny that my avi is, my idea of what I would have liked to look like, even just the black hair. All my family have black hair and blue eyes, but I ended up with the dirty dull brown colour, and can't even dye it rl cos my skin colouring just wouldn't suit such a dark colour, and having freckles doesnt help lol. And although I look and quite often lust over the gorgeous ladies in sl, I know my limitations. Even if I was half the age I am now I don't think various body parts of mine have ever sat quite where god intended them to be, and now..well lets just say without extensive surgery and industrial strength scaffolding, I have what I have, and honestly, quite like it.
  17. I was looking through my bookcase this morning for something exciting to read and found myself looking for the reason I came to SL. I was off work and going through a reading phase. I was reading a book, (can't remember the name of it but I will look for it), and one of the characters in it was a hit man who kept getting confused about his real life and his second life, and his thoughts that he wished he had the super fast car he had in his secret second life for work in his real life, and he looked forward every night to being able to slip into his SL, where women loved him, he had a fleet of fast cars, a boat and he could fly rather than this stupid walking he was expected to do in his first life. Was only later in the book when it mentioned he went to a hotel room, logged onto his second life and slipped into the world he thought he deserved, that I realised this was a computer game. I didn't for one minute expect to find anything on the internet, afterall the book was fiction, but lo and behold, googled Second Life and up it popped. The book had made it seem quite exciting and so in I came. So, who or what inspired you to join Second Life.
  18. Looks wise: god I wish lol the only thing similar is we both have blue eyes. Personality wise, I can only be me. Even when rp'ing, although the situation might be rp, all the emotions, actions are how I'm feeling at the time. But if I could look like Jaz real time..i'd strip off and walk everywhere naked goddamit..
  19. I don't have a home I can do anything with at the moment, but when I have in the past its always been the garden for me. I live in a flat in rl and can kill a pot plant just by looking at it so for me sl was perfect. I could spend hours trawling around looking for greenery and bits n bobs for it, safe in the knowledge I couldn't kill anything. Always a cross between well manicured lawns and wilderness with peace and romance thrown in for good measure.
  20. The atmosphere your pics stir up Victor1st is awesome. You can almost see and hear the horse and carts, the steel on the bottom of people's boots clattering on the road, and little ragamuffins running around in the fog barefoot, dirty and not caring..fantastic.. And the OP's house, warm, curled up in a chair reading..wonderful homes (haven't figured out how to get photos from sl inventory to here, so no pic of mine, sorry)
