  2. @Ishtara - we're not all genius's either - it took me 3 weeks to figure out the most basic things - actually I'm still figuring them out. So an ability to switch to a more advanced viewer wouldn't have confused you - problem solved.
  3. Great idea and as Jo says - it's overdue - simple is best for new users - then move on to whatever viewer rocks your personal boat. But yes most new people only want to have a look about and this sounds like it could be just the job.
  4. Slainte agus beannacht Maureen - it was nice here in the NW of England up till about an hour ago - looks as though it's going to be a damp day here - no doubt good for the pubs. :smileyhappy:
  5. Venus Petrov wrote: There was a thread posted that several of us posted to yesterday about a date with Lexie Linden. It is gone now. I do not know why. It was fun. I want to have more fun. Somehow I never thought that one would survive :smileyhappy:
  6. Suella Ember wrote:<Snipped to pieces> I imagine it depends on your definition of fun and what fun thing you are talking about really It's all about balance as I see it and I think the wonderful quote from Maddy aptly sums up the way I use, and will always use, forums: "Hopping from loony chat to deep philosophy is not schizophrenic. It's mental agility at its best. - © Madelaine McMasters" :smileytongue: *Shrugs - if you say so - I'm still not convinced. Maybe I just have a wierd idea of fun - and no - I don't mean the 'nasty' sort - more a sort of... serendipitous sort of thing. Anyway Happy St. Patricks day etc :smileyhappy:

  9. @Seraphiel - Pop over to the forum hangout at 6pm SLT and we can enjoy the craic all together :smileyhappy:
  10. @Valerie - looks great - Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig :smileyhappy:
  11. @Inspiration - sounds great - Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig :smileyhappy:

  13. Seicher Rae wrote:<snip> Well, don't kiss the Blarney stone today! Yick! That is so unhygienic! There's a new Irish themed pub on my commute and they have Guinness on tap. I've already told you I'm hoisting one (and then drinking it!) in your honor. I kissed the Blarney stone a few times as a kid - I seem to have survived - not sure about getting the 'gift of the gab' though - Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig and have fun :smileyhappy:
  14. @Nyll - I envy you being at home today - over here somewhere near Liverpool it's a bright crisp day so far... but it's not 'home'. Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig duit. :smileyhappy:
  15. Jessika Rang wrote: omg thank you so much....! :smileysurprised: uh oh... now i will have to wait and hope and yea verily pray that someone else will post after me... oh the stress! *Points up - you remain safe - which is possibly far more than can be said for me :smileywink:
  16. @Venus - Go raimh maith agat agus slainte chugat :smileyhappy:
  17. Ishtara Rothschild wrote:<snipped> But I have to say, I'm a little wary of resident-run fundraisers, simply because there is no way to tell where the money is going to end up. That's nothing against you of course. I just hope that people will have enough sense to stick with the official channels and donate the money to LL, or directly to the Red Cross. I agree with you Ishtara (and Irene) best to stick with recognised official ways of donating - to be honest my biggest donation was in RL to British Red Cross but I have bought the whole range of bears here too. Maybe if LL could give people official collection boxes to put on their land/businesses - any donations to those would go straight to the LL relief fund? But I do think it's best to keep it all 'up front'. It's great to see people wanting to help though
  18. So it's St. Patricks Day and people all over SL (and RL for that matter) will be bouncing about like crazy wee people dressed in green and doing things that have little to do with Ireland not to mind St. Patrick. But it's all in the name of good fun - so have you any plans for St. Patrick's Day in SL?
  19. Good Morning all and best wishes on a day when the 'wearing of the green' becomes a source of pride and rememberance for Irish people across the globe. I hope today and the rest of the year brings good things to you all in both SL and RL. And remember SL can be the only way a lot of people can have the social life they really want - ni hespa go dith carad - go on make a new friend today :smileyhappy:
  20. Ima Rang wrote:<snip> Do we get points with the new forum or just kudos in answers? Does seem all disjointed....like you need to sing "Bring my People Home," without the religious implication, of course :smileywink: One gets points for posting in all the other forums - Off Topic is the only one that doesn't add to points. Kudos are awarded only in the Answers, Commerce and Content Creation Forums. Not that it matters too much to me - I'm not especially talented enough in any area to earn Kudos anyway. :smileyhappy:
  21. I think the main issue seems to be the number of 'subforums' there are so many distinct places for people to post on so many things that there doesn't seem to be a central communication spot anymore. Maybe as people get used to it they will gravitate to the off topic forum - but I think the lack of points for posting here will inhibit that a bit to be honest. Time will tell no doubt - but it is all a wee bit 'disjointed' at the moment.

  23. Well I'm fairly happy most of the time - 1920s or not :smileywink:
  24. Hmmm... Lexie is nice but.... In this world (SL) of gender (and other) confusions, I think I have a wee crush on Torley - and I'm a gay woman (old enough to know better too)... but that's how this place gets... confusing!!!
