[Looking for Mesh and 'Gothic' Clothing]

Another place to try is Sn@tch.  Ivey makes amazing clothing and her clothing is punk/goth/club.  She is one of the few that has mesh clothing I can wear since I won't change my shape for clothing or someone else  And if you join her group she gives away free gifts all the time.

You are looking good in the mesh   And SF Designs is making mesh clothing and I believe some for men as well and if you  join her group, she has 25L Monday Mania which offers really great outfits.  I like the look of mesh but refuse to change my  shape just to fit into clothing when I already have a bulging inventory *grins*

Thank you so much Wiki.  The dress is from Sn@tch - it was a new release this past week so should still be on her new release walls.  It comes in lots of colors - she sells most of her designs in fatpacks which is awesome   The bikini is from there too.  She is one of my favorite SL designers.

Wow Kylie - Good eye   Yes, it is Willowdale.  I have been on my parcel for almost 2 years now and she has offered to let me move to a different parcel that she has just finished landscaping.  I told her I like mine and would stay there.   She wasn't able to do as much upgrading as she would have liked since I have a home on the parcel but what she did is awesome.

Thank you for the compliment Randall and believe me, I would rather NOT sit home alone in SL.  It just seems to happen that way and even when I do go to a club, I still tend to end up sitting alone.  It can be quite frustrating.  I have no idea what the problem is and have been trying to figure it out for a few years now. *shrugs with a sigh*  Maybe it's because I don't dress like...well...to be polite, let us just say I cover most of my 'assets'   Oh well...logging on to another night alone.  Maybe I will stop by Fogbound this weekend

Randall asked what my favorite piece of furniture was in my house.  My answer is most of it because I tend to buy furniture that has solo poses since I spend a really large amount of my SL time alone   So I need furniture I can sit on by myself.  Like here

I am finally posting again since I got a new computer The old one was a Pentium 2 with an 80 gig HD and 550 megs or Ram. I have no clue how I could even move But now I have a new Acer Aspire (well ok a refurbished one) with a 640 GB HD, 4 GB of DDR Ram and an AMD Phenom processor along with a really great ATI Radeon HD graphics card. Who knew water sparkled in SL? I didn't Now I do. So I have been taking pics - still not as good as most on this thread but working on it.

Went to Fogbound last night and guess who I saw? Randall. And yes, he is quite good looking in the flesh, so to speak. And I sent him an IM because I was so excited to actually see someone from this thread. And I am sure he sat there thinking...who the bleep is this person and why are they IM'ing me. But he was quite gracious and pleasant. And he even told me I was very pretty which made my night

So here is me dancing at Fogbound.  Eventually I will learn how to edit my pictures.  I don't always go to Fogbound because it is no fun to sit alone but a very nice man asked me to dance   I had fun and it was fun to talk with Randall.  I even saw Cinnamon there - very pretty

Wildcat - that last picture is amazing.  Very nice.  All the pictures have been amazing.  I was dressed up for a ball and decided to go to a free photo studio and take some pictures.  I don't have photoshop or anything so these are what I took in SL but I had fun with them

I have made it partway through the thread and the pictures that have been posted are amazing and wonderful.  I have been trying to learn how to take better pictures in SL so am going to jump on the bandwagon and post a couple of my recent efforts.  I am not sure how wonderful and amazing my pictures are but here they are anyway

[How did you come up with the name for your Avatar!]

Wow Hippie - great thread.  Love hearing how everyone picked their names.  And love them all   Mine came from my AOL RP character (Yep - text based RP) Her name was Sapphire and her look as it has evolved here in SL came from that character and the pic I had for her in my AOL profile.  As for the last name, I am a Wiccan/Pagan who is into herbology and healing and Hyssop is a healing plant so I found the closest thing here in SL which was Hissop.  I have only met one other with the same last name as myself.  I think I am coming up on...wow...4 years in January and I agree with others.  The last names really gave character and let people create some interesting names.  I used to know someone in SL who's name was Itsalotta Gumbo.  And yes he used the last name Gumbo.  He said it came from his son (I think) talking about a pot of gumbo and he created a name out of it.  He used to come to a place I danced at lo these many years ago   We called him Itsa.

And I really hated the number thing in AOL so really worked hard to pick names I could have without numbers.  And the same here...I did not want a name with any numbers in it and got lucky enough to be able to create a name that resonates with me.  Looking forward to seeing more great replies

Woohoo I figured out how to post pics from my visit to the Corn Field.  I found some pretty autumn leaves to admire.

Then I decided to wander around and found a really big television to watch.  And some other really nice harvest themed decorations.

I decided I needed a rest - wandering is hard work   And I am kind of wondering about the one who left the bones behind...too much wandering or too many hiding in the corn rows?  Hmmm...perhaps time to wander out

Your home is absolutely gorgeous!  And I love your new forum badge (Still need to make one for myself...I am just not good at certain things) Anyway...I digress.  I understand what you are saying about privacy, etc but please don't toss all your hard work away because of it.  Perhaps you need to live somewhere else that is more private.  Ceka and Willow are offering assistance and help out of compassion, kindness and a gentleness of spirit.  It is not 'weak' to accept that help.  I live on a  fabulous parcel that is on a sim with only 4 residents, me being one of the four. 

My sim owner has created landscaping and used the land to build...well I will call them walls or almost mountains between each parcel.  I LOVE my parcel and never ever feel as if I am being spyed on.  It is very private and very well landscaped.  I love my house and love decorating and understand about having to move it all again.  I wish I had known about the trick that was mentioned in these threads...will have to go back and look for it.  Because let me tell you...I have deleted my house by accident and have had to rebuild everything way more times than I care to admit to.  If you send me a PM or find me in world  I will gladly tell you where I live and show you my parcel.  Perhaps a change of location with a little help from friends might be just the thing. 

As for the camming, perving and seeing me undressing...well...I am with a lot of the others on that one.  It's my toon and not me.  And she is never actually naked since I have full body tats *snickers* So if they want to admire all the work I have put into her then that's cool!  If they IM me and comment then I have the choice of muting them.   I have worked as a stripper/pole dancer in SL so perhaps that's why I am not as concerned.  My toon has been seen nude numerous times.  And while I understand your feelings and wanting to keep your privacy, I guess I have to agree with a lot of the others and say that I never expected privacy when I came to SL.  I figured my toon would be seen and I would end up tping in somewhere nude or half nude.  So they get a show and I get to find my clothing in my inventory and dress.  It's skin and pixelated skin at that.  And to my mind, really well put together avis like yours help brighten the landscape and make SL a more beautiful place.

And I also understand about the RL health stuff...that is part of why I came to SL as well.  To be able to experience things like scuba diving that I will never be able to do in RL due to my health.  So...here is a huge hug for you as well as some kind words whispered into your ear.  Please stay and let others help you.  Please stay and have some fun.  Enjoy yourself here, relax, explore, create, decorate, build, and then take that bubble bath, sip your tea and just breathe.

This is an awesome world and there are some really awesome people in it.  There are also those who will want to mess with your head.  Don't let them.  Then they ruin your fun and that makes them happier.  Don't let them win.  Seek out the wonderful people and let them surround you with lots of positive energy.  Blessings to you Maya.

Thank you everyone for the great pictures and information about the Corn Field. I was not aware that it was open for Halloween but now that I do, I will be visiting. I am a Twilight Zone fan and hearing about the Corn Field was the thing that first gave me the idea of joining SL. I came to SL in 2008 so have never seen it but will go and take pics for Halloween. Thanks again and I will fnd out how to post pics to this forum. I hope Still trying to figure out the cool badge thing. All in good time I suppose. Thanks again - I am off to explore the Corn Field. My 2 very favorite clothing designers in world are Sn@tch and Hudson's.  I will sign in tonight and send you some landmarks since I am not in SL right now.  Sn@tch is more goth/grunge/punk and she has some really nice stuff and some of it is very classy.  I will not lie and say that all of it covers all body parts because some definitely shows the body   But a really nice selection that runs the gamut and worth exploring.  If you join her group she gives free gifts and she has outfits you can fish for as well.  And definitely check out her bargain basement - some really nice stuff at great prices.  My style is kind of a combination of glam/elegant/goth and gypsy.  The gypsyish stuff I buy at Hudson's  She has a really great pair of Victorian boots that I wear very frequently.  Not much of a heel and about calf high - I didn't need to make any adjustments to them.  Just wear and go.  I can send you the name when I get on tonight.  As for my hair...I bought it at GoldieLocks and absolutely love it but she is closing her store inworld   Not sure if she is gone or not but everything is on sale.  Great movement in the hair and the only scripts are for color change.  Good luck in your quest for clothing - 'tis fun to shop

I will go with the majority here and tell you that yes, asking people to use a mic is rude.  I personally HATE SL voice.  I have it disabled in my system.  I go to a club to listen to the music and usually the DJ talks through their stream so I can hear them when they announce the songs or thank people or even greet them.  The rest of the time...well...I don't want to hear people coughing, playing with their mic, their kids in the background, their dog in the background, their roommate/partner/spouse/significant other in the background.  I don't want to hear them belching or making other noises into their mic.  I don't want to hear them singing or humming or whistling or anything else.  I don't want to hear their TV.  Are you getting the picture here?  If I go to a place other than a club and they only use voice, I leave and don't join their group.  I also inform an owner why I am leaving.  Some groups that I paid memberships in went voice only - I left and quit paying the memberships.  Again I informed them why. 

I work in cubicle world in real life which means I have to hear other people's conversations, both on the phone and with others.  I have to listen to everything around me unless I use my iPod.  When I come home I want to listen to my own TV or the music playing at the club or sometimes...just sometimes...gasp...nothing at all.  Sometimes I don't even turn on my speakers or my TV because I want some quiet.  So no...I will NOT get a mic nor will I enable voice because you hate to type.  Sorry but I like to type and prefer it.  Have a great SL.

It certainly does!  Congratulations!  It is a very well deserved honor.  Being one of your residents for approximately the past year has been a wonderful experience and I absolutely love my parcel.  Anyone that visits is always impressed by the wonderful landscaping and my waterfall   I am very proud to be living on one of your sims and am so very happy you have received recognition for your very hard work!

I am sorry to hear what happened but it seems there may be hope - you might still be able to save your original avi.  I have been struggling lately in world with a variety of issues, mainly being lonely and your post made me see that there are still people who feel very passionately about SL.  So I am still hoping that maybe I can still find someone to hang out with and explore with.  I have actually been pondering leaving and your post touched me and made me reconsider.  So, in honor of your post and my RL birthday (which was Tuesday) I am going to send you some Lindens tonight when I log on.  Not enough to pay your account and regain your avi but some assistance.  And yes, I know some will say I don't need to do that and perhaps should not do that.  You are probably right but I am celebrating my birthday but sharing with someone else.  I am hoping that with my assistance and perhaps whatever you can get together you can regain your account and your original avi and then take care of whatever needs to be done to make your SL continue to be exciting and fun.  An of course downgrade to basic *winks*

And if you want someone to hang with - please give me a holler.  I am definitely looking for friends and people to explore SL with.  I know there is so much I haven't seen but it is not as much fun alone.  Hope to see you inworld.
