  1. "Are rl teens allowed to use child avatars?" Yeah, and they're even allowed to use adult avatars. And Mickey Mouse outfits. "What should I do if I see rl teens on mature land that have [sic] adult groups (such as gor, bdsm) in their profiles?" Probably you should run and tell mommy.
  2. Perrie, you do sound thoughtful, sincere, and compassionate. Sorry I slurred you. I got up on my soap box because the only really vicious thing I've witnessed in my happy tenure in Second Life is Abuse Reporting. Some people delight in meting out "justice" in the form of punishment and revenge and I guess that will never change. They will always find witches to burn, too. Getting someone banned from Second Life is like getting them the death penalty (if you think that's hyberbole, fine - you wouldn't miss being here yourself, would you?). I just urge every compassionate open-minded person out there to think twice before turning someone in.
  3. Darrius Gothly wrote: Perrie Juran wrote: All said and done I believe I did the right thing in this situation. As a dad of three, and as a dad that has had a talk with the local restaurant manager about serving alcohol to my underage son ... I applaud your choice. Ah, but having a talk wasn't the right thing, was it? You should have reported him to the police. That's what Perrie did.
  4. "So you think turning someone in to LL that readily admits they are underage in RL and is on an adult account makes someone a "self-righteous intolerant hypocrite"? Really?" Okay, make that "self-righteous intolerant vigilante."
  5. You say you sought to have the putative fifteen-year-old put to Second Death mainly to protect yourself from being banned yourself. Yet you hastened to add that you were innocent and confident of proving it. So why didn't you just give her a short lecture and sever contact? What did you really have to fear? Or were you altruistically trying to protect others (as you later suggest) from the predations of a teen? Perhaps you wanted to protect her morals by driving her out of Second Life? You didn't kill her and now you're upset. Oh dear. Maybe she'll seek revenge! In fact she has no way of knowing who turned her in and is likely still under the delusion that you are an interesting, attractive person and it's someone else out there who is just another self-righteous intolerant hypocrite who thinks his own fantasies are ok but others are dangerous and must be suppressed.
  6. On behalf of Tammy Caxton, Dan Lastchance, Shota Shackleton and myself, I'd like to say goodbye to all our friends in Second Life. I won't violate forum guidelines by discussing the status of our accounts, but suffice it to say that I am speaking to you from beyond the Pale (I typed this thinking of "beyond the veil," but both metaphors are apt). May all of you enjoy Second Life as much as we did. And yes, there is life after Second Death - see you on the next Grid
  7. This place is starting to look like 4chan.
  8. Why the f*ck do I need "tammy.armundsen" after my name? How do I get rid of this juvenile nonsense?
